The purpose of this study was to find the recent research trend and suggest challenges of researches on Practical arts classroom instruction at the elementary level. Research method of the study was the synthesis on researches in journal articles of the Society of practical arts education. The findings of this study are as follows : First, many kinds of researches were performed, but the recent research trend was leaned to quantitative research tradition. Most of researches were prescriptive and experimental. Second, Qualitative research tradition was of small number relatively and the scope of description or the depth of interpretation was entry-level. Third, For improvement of researches on Practical arts classroom instruction, it was need professionals with research capability and co-work system between researcher and teacher.

The purpose of the study was to develop for educational model of elementary school for Jeonnam islands and remote rural areas. The study was carried out through review of literature, related research materials, and consultative meeting with professionals. The educational model contains Jeonnam office of education, regional office of education, educational university, elementary school, and community etc. Jeonnam office of education plans an educational policy for elementary school in Jeonnam islands and remote rural areas. Regional office of education analyzes the needs of community, compiles elementary curriculum, and supports the elementary education for islands and remote rural areas. Elementary school manages curriculum by educational plan, makes up the educational conditions such as manpower and environment. And Educational university manages curriculum for cultivation of elementary school teacher. This model will present a direction of elementary education for Jeonnam islands and remote rural areas, consitute positively educational environment in elementary school through the connection of educational university, office of education, community etc. Also, it will manage regional curriculum suitable to Jeonnam islands and remote rural areas, can promote the basic learning ability of elementary school students.

The purpose of this research was to develop ICT teaching-learning materials with the structure of a motorcycle. It is generally said that many students have difficulties to study the engine topics in technology subject. In order to help the students clearly understand the principles of working motorcycle, the appropriate teaching learning materials such as ICT were provided with basic physics phenomena which were relevant with motorcycles. The main results of the study were as follows: 1) Utilizing flash animations, teaching-learning materials were developed with the principle of working two stroke cycle engine arrangement and structure. 2) Here, the developed ICT materials will be used for the supplementary materials in class of technology subject. They were composed of two parts, that is, instruction action plan and teaching-learning process plan, respectively. 3) Both of teachers and students are able to interact and study without the limit of time and space through the ICT teaching-learning materials on the Internet.

The object of this study is to clarify the meaning of the direct experience in the practical arts education In the beginning, this study searches the misunderstanding about the direct experience in practical arts education. To clarify the meaning of the direct experience, this study choose three factors which can be included in the direct experience contest from the theory of Dewey and arbeitserziehung. This study is focussing on developing the system for understanding of the direct experience contest from these three factors. These three factors are knowledge, practical capability, and the problem solving ability. This study searches the function of each factor in the direct experience context. And classify the ability which can be acquired from the experience in which each factor is operating. These abilities are not the instant knowledges or skills, but will affect the following experience.

This research aimed to analyze research trend of CAD Area by surveying CAD-related articles published in five major academic journals on fashion published in Korea. As a result, the number of CAD-related articles has increased recently, especially after the year 2000 (taking 52% of total papers), followed by development of computer industry. In terms of journal, Korean Fashion Journal dominated the other four journals by taking 51% shares of total CAD-related articles. CAD-related articles were on average 2.1% of total articles published in all the five journals, which meant a small portion of fashion research as yet. In terms of subject, pattern-CAD and body measurement had the largest share (64%) of total CAD research, followed by apparel CAD (lo%), and so on. Pattern-CAD was only area in the middle of 1980s, when that kind of paper was first published. In terms of research method, experimental research amounted to 73%, followed by survey method (18%) and literature survey (9%), while recently literature survey increased and survey method increased in trend. 24% of total publications, mostly focusing on CAD program and pattern CAD, has obtained financial support, which was higher than other fashion related area. To wrap up, this research showed the rapidly developing trend in CAD area, but highly concentrating on body measurement and pattern CAD. An example for promising future research area could be CAD-education. More detailed further research of this theme is expected to continue in the near future.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the contents of 'Raising Animal' related units in Practical Arts textbook and Practical Arts teachers' manual. This study was conducted based on the qualitative research method with utilizing literature review, studying the elaboration theory with teachers, and evaluating the Practical Arts textbook and Practical Arts teachers' manual. Conclusions were made as follows: 1. Theoretical reinforcements were needed for 'Raising Pet' unit in Practical Arts textbook and teachers' manual; 2. It was necessary to eliminate or replace inappropriate illustrations in textbook; 3. It was necessary to develop proper revision contents for 'Raising Pet' unit; 4. Utilizing connections and relations between Agriculture and everyday living for starting 'Raising Livestock'; 5. It was necessary to develop the auxiliary textbook such as WWW, videotape, book, posters, CD-Rom, DVD, so on; 6. It was necessary to execute the inservice education for Practical Arts subject matters for elementary school teachers.

The purpose of this study was to examine elementary school students' recognition of tools in practical arts textbooks in terms of students' gender and residential areas in order to provide basic data for elementary practical arts education. The main results of this study were as follows : First, elementary school students' overall degree of recognition of tools in practical arts textbooks was high such as fields; computer, home economics, agriculture, electricity and electronics, and construction. Second, there was no meaningful difference between male and female students although some differences were found in the case of specific fields. Third, male students' degree of recognition was high in the order of computer, agriculture, home economics, electricity and electronics, and construction. Female students' degree of recognition was high in the order of computer, home economics, agriculture, electricity and electronics, and construction. Fifth, urban area students' degree of recognition was high in the fields of computer, agriculture, home economics, and electricity and electronics. Rural area students' degree of recognition was also high especially in the fields of computer, agriculture, and home economics.

The educational curriculums for training Home economics teachers in colleages of education across Korea have changes steadily since 1990's. The study attempts to propose a new model home economics educational based on the interdisciplinary pedagogy. The model includes general educational theories and practices, interdisciplinary learning and the speciality in Home Economics teacher education program. It is improve and excel the quality of general education and secondary schooling in disciplinary instruction and curriculum both. Finally, the study promotes further studies and comprehensive research on the interdisciplinary education and the study courses better home economics teacher education in a college of education.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the vision for technology education through the rationale of participatory technology. The method of this study was literature review. The major results of this study were as follows; 1) The definition of technology education has need of appropriate assessment for technological activities. 2) The goal of technology education has need of ability for technology control. 3) The content of technology education has need of relationship between technology and society. 4) The delivery system of technology education has need of lecture, discussion and presentation. 5) The life-long education for technological literacy has need of understanding technology.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the variables affecting the elementary students' and their parents' perception about and participation in household work to provide some basic data useful for the education of children through participation in household work. To this end, 468 elementary higher-grade students and their 390 parents living in Seoul were sampled randomly and subjected to a survey using a questionnaire about participation in household work, perception about household work and satisfaction with family life to determine the correlations among the factors and thereupon, the methods of making children understand of and promoting their participation in household work were explored. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS program for frequencies, percentages, t-test, one-way ANOVA and correlations. The results of this study were as follows; First, the eldest children in nuclear families with fathers participating in household work often tended more to participate in household work, and those parents who had grown up in large families and who perceived that their household work were well-shared among family members evaluated their children to participate more in household works (p<.05). Second, the more convenient the household equipments were, the more the fathers participated in household work, and the more the intra-family roles were shared for household work among family members, both children and their parents were more positively conscious of household works (p<.05). Third, the more children's fathers participated in household works and the more the intra-family roles were shared, and the more convenient the household equipments were, both children and parents were more satisfied with their family life. Fourth, there was a significant difference in the perception of children's participation in household works between children themselves and parents (p<.05). The higher the children's perception of household works, the greater the participation of the children was. Also, the greater the parents' perception on household works, the greater the children's participation was, when the parents evaluated their children. However, such a perception was not reflected in children's actual participation in household work, which suggests the necessity of correcting parents' attitude towards children's education regarding household works. Fifth, the most influential factors affecting children's participation in household works were fathers' participation and well-shared family members' roles. Above findings need to be reflected in the elementary curriculum to make children have positive perception of household works and to encourage them to participate more in their household work.

The purpose of the study is to develop a performance assessment tools for video production instruction based on skill standard in specialized high school. Through skill standard analyses for video production area in US, UK and Task analyses for video television director and television director of photography, achievement standards were drawn and each specific learning objective were identified accordingly. In addition, assessment elements for task of video production were selected by specialist in video production education area. Achievement standard for video production instruction is set through literature. And then plan ability, videotaping ability, edition ability and evaluation ability were selected by expert. 35 assessment elements were extracted in the step of analyses by expert consist of five members in education of video production area. Rubric and checklist were drawn to Assessment techniques in design step. Valid of tool selection and rating point examination by expert. 45 assessment tools were developed for teacher rating, Self and Peer rating.

The power to think and solve problems should be the most desirable variable in teaching and learning process. To do answer the fact that we must consider how to improve the variable in education. At this point, this study primarily was tuned at Gardner's multi-intelligent theory and the achieving necessary skills which were compared to each components in the study. The Methodology of the study was analyzed subject contents to verify the relationship between the two groups' dimensions and used second data to explain and compare the two theories. The results of the study were indicated that it is possible to utilize ACT study verify the level of achieving necessary skills in each sub-dimensional skills which should be applied to curriculum, and multi-intelligence theory should be applied to instructional methods belong to each sub-dimensional intelligence. However there was a limitation to identify the relationship of r-value correlation of statistics. In spite of the barriers, the two theories should be engaged to educational process in terms of learning subject and via way of human psychology. The recommendations were made based on the results, which theories should be more studied at the point of applicable, utilizable and effective norms in teaching and learning process.

이 연구는 초등학생이 비행기 만들기 체험 활동을 중심으로 수학적.과학적 기술적 소양을 함양하기 위한 통합교과교육 프로그램을 개발하여 우리나라 핵생들의 수학.과학.기술교육에 대한 정의적 태도 즉 학습 동기, 호기심. 흥미를 고양시키는 데 있다. 이 연구는 개발 연구로서 설문 조사와 예비/현장 시험을 병행하여 이루어졌다. 그리고 개발 절차는 준비 단계, 개발 단계, 개선 단계의 과정을 거쳤다. 준비 단계에서는 문헌 연구를 통하여 교과ㆍ학습자ㆍ사회의 요구 분석을 하였다. 개발 단계에서는 초등학교 수학, 과학, 실과, 재량활동 수업에서 활용하기 위한 설계 개요, 교사용 지침서, 학생의 활동 자료를 개발하였다. 설계 개요는 상황, 문제. 설계 제한점. 체험 학습, 문서화 목록으로 구성하였다. 교사용 지침서는 모범적 해결책, 프로그램의 목표, 응용 목록, 수업 계열, 활동의 단계, 학생 활동의 계열, 도입, 용어의 해석, 자료의 목록을 개발하였다. 학생 활동 자료는 학생들의 활동 지침서로서 수학ㆍ과학ㆍ기술교육의 내용을 비행기 만들기 체험활동 중심으로 세 교과의 내용을 탈학문적으로 통합하였다. 개선 단계에서는 비행기 만들기 체험 활동 프로그램을 초등학생을 대상으로 예비시험을 실시하고 그 결과에 따라서 수정하고 보완하였다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze statistically the attitude of students toward Technology at general high school in Gyeonggi Province. The instrument of survey to achievement the purpose of this study was based on the domain of technology presented in the 'Jackson's Mill Curriculum Theory'. The questionnaire based on the five domains of curriculum; manufacturing technology, construction technology, transportation technology, communication technology, and biological technology, was replied by 520 students of 13 schools among general high schools in Gyeonggi Province and analyzed with cluster sampling. The questionnaire was analyzed with x², ANOVA at the significance level 0.05. And the results of the statistical analysis were the follows; First, the degree of the attitude that general high school students showed toward technology is normal. Second, according to the variations from the region where school is located, it is proved that the attitude of the students in city is high. Finally, in the aspect of gender, girls have higher attitude than boys.
