This study was enforced to investigate the difference in the change on nutrition knowledge between before and after nutrition education program by enforcing nutrition education program on the fourth grade's students in elementary school. The education group students received nutrition education two times per week in Tuesday and Friday during a 4-weeks period. After all education period, total of 54 students completed questionaires examining nutrition knowledge. And the results of this study were as follows: There was not significantly difference between obesity and the living location and the methods coming school and going home. The obesity index was appeared as average -3.22 and especially girl student's height and weight were over average. So it indicated the necessity of nutrition education program. In the investigation of the change of nutrition knowledge by nutrition education program, the score was elevated as average 10.28 from average 24.43 in the pre-test to average 34.71 in the post-test.

This study was performed to change skill and knowledge-dominated Practical Arts Education into which skill, knowledge, career guidance and philosophy are harmonized with each other.The main contents of this study were the prospect with the direction on future education, the review on 'Silhak' of comprehensive viewpoint, the relation of Practical Arts Education with work, elaboration education, holistic, pragmatism, the artisan's spirit, the review on philosophical background with character of Home Economics, Life Science and Technology.The literature review including internet surfing was utilized as research method in this study.The core of human living can be defined as a work. Practical arts education related in a work should be focused on bringing up living power through problem solving in a dimension of the general education.

이 연구의 목적은 기술 개념과 과정 (Technology Concepts and Processes) 학습에 있어 초등기술교육의 가치를 조사하는데 있다. 연구문제는 다음의 두 가지이다. 첫째, 초등학생들이 기술 개념을 어떻게 학습하는가? 둘째, 초등학생들이 기술 과정을 어떻게 학습하는가? 이 연구는 질적 연구 방법으로 수행하였으며, 연구 데이터는 5개월에 걸쳐 수집된 관찰, 교사와 학생과의 공식-비공식적 면담, 학생 활동에 관련된 문서, 교사의 교수-학습에 관련된 자료 등의 분석을 통해 수집되었고, 귀납적 분석과 구성주의적 관점을 통해 분석되었다. 본 연구를 통하여 얻어진 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기술교육은 초등학생들에게 구성주의를 통한 학습 환경을 제공하였다. 둘째, 기술교육은 초등학생들에게 유의미한 hands-on 활동을 제공하고, 창의적 문제해결과정과 사회적 상호작용의 기회를 제공하였다. 셋째, 초등학생들은 ‘기술’을 만들기, 발명, 새로운 것, 컴퓨터로 개념화하고 있었으며, 기술 활동을 재미있고 흥미로운 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 이 연구의 결과를 기초로 하여 다음과 같이 제언한다. 첫째, 폭넓은 교육 환경을 제공하는 기술교육의 실행을 위한 초등 교사들의 노력이 필요하다. 둘째, 초등기술교육의 가치를 알기 위한 기술 개념과 과정 학습에 관한 기술교육자들의 후속 연구가 필요시 된다.

The purpose of the study is for suggestion of improvement method thorough assessment of the level and significance of the key competencies of technical high school students. The subjects of the study were 93 teachers of the general subject, and 116 teachers of the specialized subject. Data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0k and T- test was conducted. As a result of the study:First, teachers of the general subject perceived that the level of technical high school students in technical competences is higher than teachers of the specialized subject did. Second, selection of the proper level of terminology is necessary for smooth communication as the level of communication ability is low. Third, educational program for improvement of the mathematical capability which suits to the specialized subject as improvement of the mathematical capability was necessary. Four, creative engineering program is to be utilized for development of the problem solving capability. Five, students at technical high school possess the technical capability required by companies even though their understanding level of the specialized subject is low. Six, teachers of the general subject view the adaptability of technical high school students in the industrial site is higher than teachers of the specialized subject do. Seven, computer literacy of technical high school students is revealed to be relatively satisfactory. According to the study result and in order to improve the key competencies, level of the key competencies for technical high school students is to be assessed preciously. The education program is to be reformed for development of the necessary competence by utilizing the class activities focus on creativity and the text materials for individual learning level.

The purposes of this study were to investigate recognition and application capability of elementary school students about 'our life and electricityelectronics' unit in practical arts subject. The study was carried out through questionnaire survey method. The population sample for the study constituted 614 completed questionnaires from purposive sample of 720 sixth grade elementary school students. A survey questionnaire was developed by researcher, which consisted of 23 scales. Data were analyzed using SPSS by employing Chi-Square test, t-test and One-way ANOVA.Major findings of this study were as follows: First, the preference level for 'our life and electricityelectronics' unit of students was average. Student gender and practice experience were found to be significant in affecting the preference for this unit. Second, the necessity level for this unit was high. Practice experience was found to be significant in affecting the necessity. Third, some of students answered that learning this unit made them have more interest than before learning it. Student gender and practice experience were found to be significant in affecting the interest. Fourth, the application capability level for this unit was low. Student gender and practice experience were found to be significant in affecting the application capability.

The purpose of this study was to examine factors that influence career attitude maturity changes using longitudinal analysis. Data for the study was from the data of the Korean Youth Panel Survey conducted by the Korea Institute for Youth Development. The panel data were collected from 2,844 elementary school students, and their parents. The major findings of the study were as follows; (1) Longitudinal investigation found an increase in rate of career attitude maturity among elementary school students as they progressed form 4th grade to 5th grade. (2) Gender types, academic achievement level, SES, and educational level of parents had a significant relationship with career attitude maturity of elementary school students. (3) Academic achievement, scholastic achievement stress, and attachment with parents had a significant effect on career attitude maturity changes of elementary school students. Meanwhile changes of scholastic achievement stress and changes of self-concept had a significant effect on career maturity changes of elementary school students.

The purpose of this study is to give middle and high school students work concept through experiments for helping them understand typical stages of operation of a real heat engine by using PASCO's heat engine cycle experiment tools. In order to understand the work of heat engine, isothermal processes, isobaric process, this experiment was carried out with 2 factors; mass and temperature of water, respectively.The change in pressure is measured with a low pressure sensor. The change in piston height is measured by the attached string over rotary motion sensor pulley. The change in volume is calculated by multiplying the change in piston height by the piston cross-sectional area.The main results of this study are as follows: First, the more the mass increased the more the work of heat engine increased.Second, this operating Heat engine work was increased by increasing the temperature of water.Third, This operating heat engine cycle helps middle and high school students understand typical stages of operation of a real heat engine.Fourth, A difference between heat engine work and the theoretical work was increased by increasing the mass of being added to the cylinder.

This study's purpose was to develop the blended learning system, that gives the prior and ex post facto learning circumstance for the exhibits, that has the contents as like the information of the exhibits, the learnig experience report for the exhibits.For the purpose, the literature study for the blended learning system was first accomplished. The blended learning system was implemented through the processes of the planning, analysis, design, development, evaluation with the each feedback.The national science museum was selected as the object site. The system's contents was for the 50 exhibits among the national science museum's 4 thousand exhibits. The system's development effects are follows:First, the system gives the blended learning experience for the elementary, middle school students to have the information of the national science museum and it's exhibits before visiting, to have the ex post facto learning or achieve online the assignment after visiting the science museumSecond, the system gives the online opportunity to learn the knowledge of the exhibits through the contents as like the simulation, animation, etc.Third, the system is worth the reference model for another museum, science center to develop a blended learning system.

A lot of learning objects have been distributed to schools, but they are not fully utilized because many teachers do not know where the data are and how to use them. Furthermore, the internet search engines produce large amount of data most of which are of no use. Thus, it is needed to develop an efficient method of finding data necessary for instruction and learning. In this study, a learning objects management system is constructed that utilizes these unused servers by connecting distributed databases using JDBC, which is a technology for distributed database. In addition, we developed an learning objects sharing function based on a metadata standard that we revised using the data collected from Sharable Content Object Reference Model(SCORM), a metadata standard from Korea Education & Research Information Service(KERIS).

The purpose of this study was compare the agricultural and biotechnology education between Korea and U.S. The research method used in this study was the content analysis, which was appropriate to and used to conduct an international comparison study. Agricultural and biotechnology education documents of the two countries including Korea and U.S were compared through content analysis criteria..The foremost major finding of this study was that the contents of agricultural and biotechnology education were categorized in different ways in each country because the objectives of agricultural and biotechnology education were different between Korea and U.S. Based on the results of the content analysis for the objectives and contents of agricultural and biotechnology education, several suggestions were made as follows; 1) It was necessary to specify the objectives of Practical Arts education in Korea, 2) Before establishing the objectives of Practical Arts education curriculum, it was necessary to set long-term goal which must be pursued in Practical Arts education, 3) The curriculum design structure must be cleared and planned ahead of developing Practical Arts curriculum, 4) It was essential to integrate the contents of agricultural and biotechnology education by two academic years and to specify the level of the contents, and 5) The agricultural and biotechnology education should be developed in a way of integration, not based on the scholastic sub-areas.
