The purpose of this study was to evaluate of practical arts contents and to present the practical strategy based on content standards and teaching-learning in 7th national curriculum. The study was carried out through review of literature, questionnaire survey of practical arts contents, and special group meeting of practical arts subject.The findings of this study were as follows:First, according to the survey evaluation, attached importance contents were 'considering the family', 'planning career', 'balanced dinning', 'making the food with rice', 'planting vegetable', 'domesticating pet animal', 'handling electric equipment', 'wood working', 'searching information', 'arranging desk and clothes', 'cleaning waste', 'making by recycling product' by elementary students, their parents, and practical arts specialists. Second, when newly building the practical arts curriculum, the content standards will be used to practical material. The content standards were developed respectively that five of technology area, eleven one of home economics area, five of bioscience area, and seventeen of shared area.Finally, For elevating the efficiently teaching-learning method of practical arts lesson, the useful method was classified by activity-centered method(investigation, problem solving, project learning, field trip, role play, and shop practice), cooperative-centered method(Double Expert Jigsaw, Co-op/Co-op, and Co-op JigsawⅠ), and module learning method.

This study was performed to explore in the direction and the philosophical base on the computer relation unit of the practical arts subject in 21 century is called a knowledge foundation society, an information society, a brain center society.This study was reviewed on the curriculum of computer education in a view point of ICT usage education, computer education through practical arts subject, and computer education through special and discretion activity.Also, this study was analyzed the problem with the current situation of computer education in a view point of overlapping curriculum, inferior equipment environment, and teacher's ability on computer educationThis study were done literature study mainly.The direction of the computer education in 21 century is as follows.First, a basic philosophy of computer education should be explored, I proposed 'Jang-in(artisan) spirit' to a basic philosophy of computer education as a suitable alternative in a brain center society.Second, computer education throughout practical arts subject should be consisted of skill, philosophy, and career guidance, harmonically, passing over the dimension of existing practical use education and computer literacy education.and it will be raised a basic ability to make up the quality of the life .

The purposes of this study were to analyze the contents of practical arts subject and other subjects related to environmental education(EE), and to suggest various aspects strategies for field application.This study was carried out through review of literature, contents analysis in the related fields. The norms in the analysis of the goals of EE by each subject were 4 domains: information and knowledge, skills, value & attitude, action and participation. The norms in the analysis of the contents of EE by each subject were 11 domains: natural environment, artificial environment, population, industrialization/urbanization, natural resources, pollution, environmental preservation and conservation, environment sanitation, environment ethics, environmentally sound and sustainable development(ESSD), and sound consumption life.Environmental education sholud be activated actually in extracurricular clubs and discretionary Activity. The field experience learning in environmental education should be considered good method to develop environmentally sound attitude and to cultivate environmental sensitivity.According to the result more concern about balanced EE in content areas is need at the elementary school level, Similar studies for k and secondary school levels are needed. The developmental study of EE guide book and teacher training for teaching EE using the book are also recommended.

The purpose of the study was to find the application methods of general agricultural education in elementary schools by investigating the agricultural education methods in Canada and in US. The contents of the agricultural subjects and the agriculture related subjects in both foreign countries were somewhat more in depth, and were more varied in specific topics in agricultural subjects. In US, also, there were many choices of agricultural education courses for students and schools to take. In result, therefore, the general agricultural education contents should be widened in Korea. Also, the materials for the general agricultural education should be developed, so that the agricultural teachers would be able to utilize the variety of teaching methods including multi-media, which can bring the curiosity and the attention of students in classes.

The purposes of this study were to analyze problems affiliated with application of technology area to the actual spot in elementary school, and to suggest improvement for it. This study was carried out through telephone interview and questionnaire survey method. The population sample for the study constituted 458 completed questionnaires from purposive sample of 760 elementary school students. The statistical techniques used in the study were frequency and percentage utilizing the SPSS PC. The major findings of this study were as follows.(1) According to the investigation about the performance rate of an practice instruction, the performance rate in the unit of 'electricityㆍelectron' was very low because of teachers' insufficient knowledge and skill about it. So, in-service teacher education should be made and contents of textbook should be reorganized more easy to learn in the future.(2) Using degree of 'making a bookshelf or a memo panel' to a real life was identified very low. So, they should be replaced for 'building a nest for birds', or 'making decoration for the edge of a flower bed'. (3) Analogue circuit multi-tester was identified too hard for elementary students to read. So, it should be replaced for digital circuit multi-tester which is more convenient to distinguish for them.(4)Putting together electron kit by soldering have lots of shortcomings which are dangerous for students and not easy to reuse. Therefore, it is more desirable to be substituted for a block type which is possible to reuse. (5) Equipment and facilities for elementary technology education was not sufficient . Therefore, administrative and financial support should be made to facilitate the practice instruction.

Home Economics domain of Practical Arts subject matter in Elementary school was divided 5 areas and presented Food & Nutrition, Clothing & Textiles, Housing, Family and Consumer Science. And this plan of practical application was designed for the children from the 3rd to the 6th grades in the class of Elementary school. In this study, the lesson plans of the 5th grade were applied to Clothing & Textiles and Family Science, the plan of the 6th grade was applied to Food & Nutrition. And Consumer Science plan was applied to the 3rd grade class and Housing plan was applied to the 4th grade class as the plans of utilizing in discretionary activity class.In conclusion, by presenting the study plans of the 3rd and the 4th grades, Practical Arts Education can be accomplished in the 3rd and 4th classes and connected to the 5th and the 6th grades. And also to activate and deepen Practical Arts Education in the 5th and the 6th classes, the plan using the discretionary activity class was proposed in this study.

This study aimed to present the teaching-learning materials increasing the creativity through practical arts subject. The major contents of this study were as follow:1. Relation between the practical arts subject and the creativity education.2. Creativity elements and the learning experience about practical arts subject.3. Correlation between the creativity elements and the contents of practical arts subject.4. Presentation of the guidance plan and the materials of teaching-learning developing the teaching model for practical arts creative problem solving-focusing on the unit 'Our Life and Wooden Products' in 6th grade-.Result of this study found out the possibility increasing the creativity through practical arts subject.

Recognizing the importance of the teaching/learning method in accomplishing educational goals, theoretical review research was initiated on one of its facets, Team Teaching. Theoretically analyzed was the significance of the types of Team Teaching applicable to Practical Arts Education and Practical Arts Education Team Teaching application results empirical research data. Conclusions:First, the task selection learning method may be applied to complete Seventh Practical Arts Curriculum proposed selection activities.Second, the small group organized per level Team Teaching method may be applied to organize and manage courses that emphasize individual student ability levels.Also, the learning activities by material selection method, in which each student performs learning activities described in the materials of their own choice, may be applied.Third, the sequential differentiation per class Team Teaching method may be adopted, in which each class finishes each chapter of the practical course in a different order and sequence and learning activities are completed one after another sequentially.Finally, one may consider applying the tutor cooperation method, which simulates student competition/festivals, and the accommodating human resources assistant tutors method, via student parents and community members.It is considered that this research should be followed by critical verification of application of practical Arts Education Team Teaching methods, as presented in this research, and, moreover, field verification of those methods based on class application results.

Our country has short waterways and insufficient sewage-purification facilities, lots of the synthetic detergents being unresolved flow in the rivers and the sea, and cause serious influencies on the water pollution. Furthermore, people are using much more amount of the detergents than aprropriate ones at each home, being compared with the amount of water used, and though recognizing that the synthetic detergents are causing the environmental pollution , they are lack of the will of using the environment-friendly products. So I research and analyze the amount and actual condition of the synthetic detergents used in general home. The consequencies from this study are summerized as follows. First, the fewer the members of a family, the more they use the synthetic detergents per a man. This shows that the amount of the synthetic detergents is decided by the times of washing rather than the amount of the laundry, and dishing the dishes in all is the way to reduce the water and the detergent. Second, the amount of the detergent is less than the amount of water used, and 55% among the total amount of the detergents used is resolved in sewage-purification facilities, but a great deal of the rest of them are polluting the rivers and the seas, being unresoved. I began this study to know that how much of the synthetic detergents we use in general homes and how much this fact makes an influencies on river pollution. But I can't know exactly the ingredients of each synthetic detergent. So I think that we need to investigate the ingredients of the products spreading through the city, and the consistency of the synthetic detergents per one litter of water.
