The purpose of this study was to re-illuminate and justify practical arts educations' extrinsic value more systematically. This study was carried out through literature review and survey research. The population for this study consisted of all the 3th, 4th students currently attending at National University of Education in nationwide. A survey instrument was developed from the review of literature to collect data. Extrinsic value of practical arts education was categorized into cognitive domain, affective domain, and psycho-motor domain. Seven sub-items was involved in cognitive domain, nine sub-items was involved in affective domain, and four items sub-items was involved in psycho-motor domain. The recognitive level of students was most high in psycho-motor domain next to affective domain and cognitive domain. Students largely thought that development of emotional intelligence through plant growing and animal raising activities were most valuable in practical arts education. And also, the recognitive level in 'brain development through hands-on activity', 'emotional stability through horticulture', and 'development of using ability for tools and equipment' were relatively high. On the other hand, the recognitive level in 'understanding of life science', 'inspiration of safe consciousness', and 'career awareness and exploration' were relatively low.

The purpose of this study was to explore a new direction of career education for elementary school students' career awareness.Career education in elementary school is very important because it determine a quality of students' life. However, in spite of the operation of career education through discretion activity and several subjects, career education was not seemed to be operated.Therefore, Career education for the awareness of himself, work, and job should be operated in elementary school. To this end, elementary school teachers should understand the concepts, purposes, contents, and teaching methods of career education, apply for various teaching methods such as methods through related subject, special activity, discretion activity, self study, materials for career awareness, conversation, and subjects for career education etc. Specially, career education should be linked between parents and community.

교양 농업 교육의 활성화를 위한 농업 학습 프로그램 개발

The purpose of this study were examine educational effectiveness for the 'Agricultural Experiential Learning Program' at five Agricultural High School which was offered during the Summer break in 2001 and to better way for the Program , to design the tentative model of program by reviewing the curriculum theory, to develop the model of Agricultural Experiential Learning Program in agricultural high schools as the experts's evaluation .Two hundred eighty-three elementary students and thirty-nine teachers, one hundred thirty-five parents responded to the questionnaire. Data was analyzed by using the Statistical Package for the Personal Computer(SPSSWIN PC). The statistical techniques used for the study were frequency and percentage.Major findings of the study were as follows: (1) most students and parents wanted to participate in agricultural experiential learning program for the next opportunity; (2) most students' and parents' attitudes toward agricultural high school were positively improved through the experience; (3) most students responded that the program was very interesting and attractive; (4) many students expected the term for the program to be 2 or 3 days; (5) The tentative model divided into 4 stages (planning- structuring- implementing- evaluation). (6) The validity of tentative model of program by experts was comparatively high level(the mean score of the general program was 4.13 out of 5.00, the mean score of the planning was 4.31 out of 5.00, the mean score of the structuring was 4.18 out of 5.00, the mean score of the implementing was 4.23 out of 5.00, the mean score of the evaluation was 4.18 out of 5.00)

사범대학의 교양 필수 과목들이 학생들의 진로 목표에 부합되게 개설되고 있는지에 대한 교양 교육과정 평가에 관한 연구가 거의 없다. 특히 교양 과목들이 교사 양성에 어떻게 작용하는지에 대한 학문적 직업적 영향에 관한 타당성 검증의 결과 없이 여건에 맞게 제공되고 있는 것이 사범대학 학생들이 교양 과목을 이수하고 있는 실정이다. 이 연구의 목적은 사범대학 8개 학과 단위를 기준으로 학생들이 인지하고 있는 교양 과목과 그들의 진로 목표와의 적절성을 파악하고 제언하는데 있었다. 연구방법 및 적용된 통계기법으로 descriptive statistics, Spearman rho correlation coefficients, analysis of variance, inferential t-tests, 그리고 step-wise multiple regression 등 이었다. 연구 결과 학생들은 어느 정도 적절성이 있다고 응답하였다. 연령별, 성별, GPA 수준, 학점 이수 수 등에 따라 적절성에 관한 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 각 전공 영역별 학생들은 교양 필수 과목의 적절성에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으나 통계적으로 유의미한 차이는 없었다. 교양 교육과정과 전공 교육과정의 개발은 일원체계로 이루어져야 할 것이며, 그 운영도 독립된 체제의 교양 교직보다는 기존의 일원적 혹은 종합적 교육과정 이수 또는 개발 운영이 더 효율적일 수 있을 것이다.

This study was conducted to develop the program and aids for Practical Arts related to Environmental Education through Discretionary Activity. And it especially focused on Environmental Education based on Learning by Experience among the contents of Practical Arts Education. I analyzed the units of the Textbooks of all subject matters related to Environmental Education in the 7th curriculum and also abstracted Environ- mental contents from the Textbook of Practical Arts. And then annual programs of Environmental Education were constructed and developed their teaching-learning aids. In this result, this study insists that the contents of Practical Arts Education in 3th and 4th grades of Elementary School should be taught through Discretionary Class.In case the teaching-learning aids of Discretionary Activity related with Practical Arts Education are provided, it was found that Practical Arts Education would be activated actually in Discretionary Activity. Therefore to activate the Practical Arts related to Education Environmental Education, the development of teaching-learning aids is demanded.

The purpose of this study is to answer such question as "What is the elementary practical arts education?", "What is the meaning of the elementary practical arts education?", "How do we teach elementary practical arts education?", "Why are we ought to teach elementary practical arts education?", "How and what do we review elementary practical arts education?" and "How do we know that those facts and methods are valid?"The results of this study are as follows; 1. The study also reviewed the philosophical, psychological, and social foundation of elementary practical arts education. The results of this study suggested a new approach into the comprehension of the educational phenomena and possibility of understanding practical arts education as a whole

The purpose of this study is to explore the strategies used to solve technological problem of practical arts in peer group interaction. This study introduces a descriptive system of analysis of peer group interaction. The method takes a problem solving approach to interaction which is seen as socially and situationally developed in student's interactions. The method consists of a three-dimensional analysis of peer group interaction by focusing on the functions of verbal interaction, and the nature cognitive processing and social processing. There are investigated with the help of analysis map drawn out from the data based on video recording, transcriptions, observations, and interviews. The results of this study were as follows;1. The analysis frame has emerged as a result of studies have conducted of students' interactions whilst working in peer groups on various educational tasks.2. The application of the frame is realized with a microanalysis of peer interaction by focusing on three analytic dimensions.
