This study was conducted to develop the program and aids for Practical Arts related to Environmental Education through Discretionary Activity. And it especially focused on Environmental Education based on Learning by Experience among the contents of Practical Arts Education. I analyzed the units of the Textbooks of all subject matters related to Environmental Education in the 7th curriculum and also abstracted Environ- mental contents from the Textbook of Practical Arts. And then annual programs of Environmental Education were constructed and developed their teaching-learning aids. In this result, this study insists that the contents of Practical Arts Education in 3th and 4th grades of Elementary School should be taught through Discretionary Class.In case the teaching-learning aids of Discretionary Activity related with Practical Arts Education are provided, it was found that Practical Arts Education would be activated actually in Discretionary Activity. Therefore to activate the Practical Arts related to Education Environmental Education, the development of teaching-learning aids is demanded.

본 학회는 처음 실과 교과서에 참여한 인사를 중심으로 1989년 실과 교육 연구회로 발족하였다가 1990년에 전국 규모의 회원을 갖고 학회 활동을 본격적으로 시작하였다. 본 학회는 한국의 실과 교육의 학문적 연구 및 현장 교육의 문제를 개선하는데 기여할 목적으로 설립되었고, 현재는 전국의 관련대학의 교수와 현장 교사가 참여하여 실과의 학문적 기초를 마련하는데 기여하고 있고, 현장의 문제해결에도 기여하면서 발전하고 있다.
