This study set the following matters to study, for the purpose of finding out the relations between learner's individual property and addiction to internet, and personality types and addiction to internet. First, it is to find out the relations between learner's individual property(gender, parents' sternness, number of friends, whether to attend cramming schools, hours of watching TV, whether to join in club activity, whether to have an acquaintance of the opposite gender) and addiction to internet, second, learner's personality types(extrovert/introvert, sensible/intuitive, thoughtful/emotional, decisive/perceptive) and addiction to internet. This study has been conducted intended for 800 students attending three middle schools located at Wonju city. For the personality types test, MMTIC test papers made by KIM, Jeong Taek and SHIM, Hye Sook were used, and for the test for addiction to internet, Korean-typed addiction to internet Self-test papers made by Korea Agency for Digital Opportunity & Promotion were used. The outcome is as follows. First, in learner's individual property, those who have fewer friends, watch TV for more time, less participate in club activity, showed higher ratio of addiction to internet. Second, in the personality types, only the case of thoughtful/emotional types showed significant difference, emotional learner showed higher ratio of addiction to internet than thoughtful type. Consequently, as learner's ability to lead one's own life is deemed to affect addiction to internet, guidance and instructions are required. In case of addiction to internet according to the personality types, as the emotional types are more addicted to internet, it is necessary to educate for improving reasonable decision controlling emotion. Finally, based on the conclusion of this study, several proposals suggesting applicability to education are presented.

The purpose of this study was to develop practical arts curriculum design model and unit based on the Paul H. Hirst's theory for education as initiation into social practices. The methods of this study were literature review and evaluation of practical arts experts. Results of the study were as follows: ① The development of curriculum design concept model was based on the theory of social practice. ② Philosophical assumptions of practical arts curriculum were practical knowledge, cornmunitarian society, active learner and constructivist learning theory. ③ Practical arts was defined as "a general education program that helps student develop an understanding, competence and attitude in home/family and consumer science, agriculture/agricultural science and technology/technology studies." ④ The characteristics of practical arts were re-conceptualized as "practical knowledge subject, social context subject and practical problem solving subject." ⑤ The purposes of practical arts were re-conceptualized as "understanding the academic knowledge, developing the intellectual process skill, developing the basic skill, developing the individual career, and developing the society/citizen literacy. ⑥ The structure of curriculum contents were constructed three dimension of content knowledge domain, core concept domain in social practice, and process skill domain. ⑦ The content knowledges of practical arts are home/family and consumer science, agriculhure/agricultural science and technology/technology studies. ⑧ The core concepts of social practice are artifacts and system, work and vocation, culture and citizenship. ⑨ The process skills of practical arts are practical problem solving and creative problem solving. ⑩ The unit design models of practical arts are content knowledge-centered design, core concept-centered design in social practice, and process skill-centered design. ⑪ The themes of unit are "forest and our life" and "energy and transportation technology"

This study was initiated from the probing question of "How should we set forth the conversive strategy for future practical arts textbooks". That how to develop our practical arts textbooks is an essential question in relation with the success and failure of the practical arts education. The purpose of this study were to analyze the limitation of current modes of textbooks are identified, and to offer the alternative ways of next practical arts textbooks in future, and to presents a tentative plan of developing a unit of practical arts for future textbooks. The characteristics of conversive strategy version of textbook construction could be summarized as follows: the textbooks are supposed to be the materials to think, explore, question with interest and curiosity, rather than the authoritative truth to master and internalize; the textbook presents useful scaffoldings to enable students to get an authentic sense of learning. the author presents not only the most recent voice, but also the history of ideals, and the intellectual traditions; It is more important to eradicate the teacher's adherence to any textbook itself than to publish the most qulified textbooks. Therefore, it becomes significant that the textbook system needs to be reformed from the closed system into the open system.

The purposes of the study were to identify the teaching portfolios concept, development and to investigate the foreign universities' application of teaching portfolios on their professorship and teaching achievement evaluation. To have rationale for the study, literature review and data collection methodology were hired. The concept of teaching portfolios have been used in many ways of meaning as well as in multiple approach in teaching-learning processes. The selected ten foreign universities have had teaching portfolios on their professorship and teaching achievement evaluation as a way of tenured and or incentives with employment decisions. On the other hand, domestic universities do not have the system yet, or they are launching it to enactive with infusing engineering program. It is proposed that to improve the quality of the education program, teaching portfolios should be used much more than lecture plan used. Learning portfolios should be developed by learners to coping with the teaching portfolio in all teaching and learning processes. University professors on the teaching tenure, based on the evidence, should have a philosophy of 'Copernicus's Thinking' on their teaching preparation.

This study aimed to analyze the level of technical teachers' job performance competency and their educational needs. The subject was 204 technical teachers working in a public technical high school, and a tool developed by An, Gwang-Sik(2006) was used to measure job performance competency. The results of this study are as follows. First, the level of technical teachers' job performance competency appeared to be lower than its importance. Second, female teachers' satisfaction with job performance competency appeared to be higher than that of male teachers. Third, it appeared that male teachers thought career guide difficult and female teachers thought it difficult to extend their professionalism. Fourth, technical teachers appeared to have considerable confidence in managing a practical laboratory and practical materials. Fifth, it appeared that the teachers who have licenses related to their majors had a higher degree of educational needs than those who have no licenses. Sixth, it appeared that the teachers who have no experience in working in industry had a higher degree of educational needs than those who used to work in industry. Seventh, it appeared that the technical teachers who used to work in industry weren't satisfied with educational issues and those who had no experience in working in industry weren't content with their ability in career guide. Based on the degree of educational needs verified in this study, a systematic program on the items which have a high degree of educational needs should be developed. It can be provided to technical teachers in the on-the-job training and students studying in colleges bringing up technical teachers and used as the basic materials in formulating a technical teacher policy, which could help to improve technical teachers' job performance competency.

The purposes of this study were to find the recognition and the in-service education needs about 'our life and electricity electronics' unit in practical arts subject of elementary school teachers. The population for survey was all teachers who were teaching the practical arts to fifth grade student in elementary schools.. A survey questionnaire was developed by researchers, which consisted of 22 scales. The questionnaire was sent to the sample by mail. 245 out of 416 questionnaires were returned. Through data screening process, 241 questionnaires were analyzed. Major findings of this study were as follows: First, many elementary school teachers hadn't had confidence in teaching their students 'our life and electricityㆍelectronics' unit. Second, some elementary school teachers recognized that the contents of this unit were inappropriate. Third, they recognized that there were not enough learning materials and tools of practical training for them to teach. Fourth, they had difficult in teaching this unit. Fifth, they preferred the method as like 'theories and practicing' to other teaching methods at their in-service education program. In this program, the most desired educational content was 'to make electronic objects'.

Objective of this research was for the purpose of suggesting a direction toward improving of school lunch program for elementary school students and preference of the program, while enhancing the efficiency of the provision of school lunch through investigation and study primary school students and their parents' understanding on this program. The questionnaires for students were responded by 320 out of 320 and 316 questionnaires were used for analysis except 4 inappropriate inquiries, and for the parents, 259 questionnaires were answered out of 320, and 255 inquires were used for the same purpose to the exclusion of 4 inappropriate ones. For the analysis of the frequency, percentage, average, the standard deviation, other statistic methods were used by making use of SPSS 11.0 program. The conclusion and suggestions of this study were as following. First, it was considered that the pupils and their parents' satisfaction of the school lunch program at the scene of elementary school was high in general. There was a necessity of the provision of school lunch on the rise by the parents' recognition of convenience that there was no need to prepare for their kids' lunch packs as well as the requirement for well proportioned-meals for their children. Also, overall, the inquiry of the taste of the school lunch was positive. Second, many students deserted the leftovers of the side dishes that they did not like which are soup, fish, vegetables, and so forth. Therefore, there should be measures to be taken and to be studied to minimize wasting of the food. Third, fixing a day of no-leftover food program was necessary for the sake of reducing leftover food from the school lunch, unbalanced diet, and intaking nutritionally balanced food. nourishing meals, also many students and their parents were aware of the necessity of that program.

This is a survey research aiming to compare German practical art education to Korean one, in particular clothing and textile division. After searching website of 16 German province or major cities, there are four provinces with separated clothing and textile courses from practical art courses, while other are not. In spite of many differences among provinces, they have wider spectrum of curriculum than Korean one in that the former extends its course content over functional role even to symbolic role and aesthetic role. Also German curriculum covers toy's role and economic role of clothing and textile education. The result implies that German competitiveness in clothing and textile industry may be attributable to its strong emphasis in primary school curriculum.

In this study, the 2,317 data of the subjects were randomly sampled from the 5th and 6th grade students in the whole country, and the analysis results of the children's online game addiction tendency were presented. According to the results of grouping by the grouping criteria, 5.7% were classified into the high risk-user group, 11.0% into the potential risk-user group, and 83.3% into the normal user group. According to the results of analysing the general variables relevant to online game by three kinds of addiction groups, every variables are significant at p<0.01. The results of the analysis of the difference of the four psychological variables, aggressive behavior, impulsive behavior, solitude and self-control by three kinds of addiction groups showed that the aggressive behavior, impulsive behavior, and self-control are sigruficant at p<0.01. The results of the analysis of the difference of the online game addiction score by the general variables presented that the addiction score is sigruficant at p<0.01 by all variables. These results are expected that they act a role of the objective and reliable data to understand the children's online game addiction tendency and the property.

The purpose of this study was to suggest the directions of new textbook development in elementary practical arts. Research methods of the study were review of the previous studies on the textbook of the practical arts, interview of the actual condition of textbook's utilization, and observation of the practical arts classroom. The result of the reviews, interviews and observation was organized two stories, one was quantitative, another was qualitative approach on the textbook study. The stories revealed three implications for the new textbook development. First, developing a new practical arts textbook should reflect the philosophy and goal of the subject. Practical arts education emphasized combination minds-on activity with hands-on activity in the problem context. And the goal of practical arts gave weight to acquire problem solving or design capability. Second, a new practical arts textbook should make up direct experience to the students and the materials should be available in the classroom. And third, a new practical arts textbook should include substantial and rich resource or links.
