優良ㆍ非優良 벤처비즈니스 企業特性에 관한 연구

A venture business plays important roles in the economy of a developing nation. The objective of this study is to derive the financial and non-financial characteristics from venture business, which determine a highly successful business group or a less successful business group. First, we determine a highly successful business group as lower 25% of venture business by using net income or total assets before interests and taxes as a classification criterion. After having selected research samples, we test the differences of mean statistic between two business groups and which characteristic is the most important to discriminate between a highly successful business group and a less successful business group. The firm characteristics are composed of 21 financial and 34 non-financial characteristics. Wilcoxon rank sum test was executed as an univariate analysis. The characteristics proven to be the most significant in the test were adopted as independant variables in LOGIT model. The result of empirical test reveal as follows. 1. As a result of univariate analysis, we find that all of 21 financial characteristics are significant in the level of 1%. Therefore, all financial ratios play a role of making discriminations between a highly successful and a less successful group. 2. In case of non-financial characteristics, two manager variables(V3 and V8), three technology variables(V10, V11 and V14), and one marketability(V26) are significant in the level of 10%. Other 28 characteristics are insignificant between two groups. 3. As a result of multivariate non-financial analysis, management ability, personal relationships of manager, scientific and technical manpower, academic background of research teams are significant in level of 10%. Especially, the relationships of manager are the most important variable in making discriminations between a highly successful and a less successful business group. This result is same thing in manufacturing and service industry.

The purpose of this paper is to settle the one-stop service system for the foreign direct investment inducement in Korea through the instructive suggestions in United Kingdom. The foreign investment service support system in Europe was early established. The above European countries operate the one-stop service system for the foreign direct investment promotion. In the United Kingdom. Investment in Britain Bureau(BB) held in 1977 as one of institutions managing the foreign direct investment inducement have the total support system for the foreign direct investment, as it is, the one-stop service system. The U. K. operation the one-stop service system show us the instructive suggestions, The one-stop service system should be managed under the governmental institution, the so called "Investment Bureau" for supporting the total service for the foreign direct investors. Through an integrated packaged of professional services, "Investment Bureau" should provide a comprehensive service to meet the foreign investors`s every need as a one-stop window. And the foreign direct investment policies should be restructured to support foreign investment from the perspective of the foreign investor and investment environment based on the competitive inducement of FDI by local government should be established.

The Commerce Code and the Securities Exchange Law have introduced the audit committee which has been developed in American corporates. This committee may be a committee of the board of directors, composed exclusively of directors more than 3, and more than two thirds of the members must be outside-directors. The audit committee should supervise the corporate management by the managing directors. Therefore the directors composed the audit committee must be independent of managing directors, and be skilled or experienced in business and audit. But Korean statutes include many problems that obstruct strict supervisement on management. For example the audit committee may be composed of inside directors who would be under the influence of managing directors, and many outside directors used to be usually recommended by managing directors. Under this structure it is worried whether the audit committee would supervise efficently corporate management or not. In order to strengthen the supervision functions of the audit committee in managing the corporation, the audit committee should be only composed of outside directors, and the members should be independent of the managing directors. In the election of outside directors the qualifications must be restricted than ever and cumulative voting must be adopted. And under the audit committee it must be established the inside auditor that audit the business activities and books of account. Furthermore it is desirable that obligated corporations registered at the Korea Stock Exchange have establish the audit committee.

Due to an assortment of variables of customer satisfaction, there are limitations in predicting detailed factors of measurements through a methodological study. As a factor of satisfaction for a medical institute, measurements reflect the process, result and structure of the treatment. Measurements can also be presented as a multi-phase idea, which include cost of the treatment, easiness of the treatment, aspect of technical and moral treatment, and result of the treatment. K hospital as a 3rd medical institute located in Pusan was evaluated as the subject of its out and in-patient care. Patients, who obtained treatment from the hospital from the period starting from July 18, 2000 to July 24, 2001, were designated as the sample pool. A total of 402 people, 201 patients and guardians, were randomly selected and questioned for the study. The patient pool was surveyed on the general character, convenience, staff kindness, and level of facility conveniences. The statistical analysis of the collected information produced the following result by using SPSS 7.5+ statistical program and statistical technology such as frequency analysis, relationship analysis, and dispersion analysis. In general, satisfaction questionnaire items, averaged 75.7point, 102 persons(51%) among 201 persons replied in terms of general satisfaction. As the reasons for using the hospital were as follows; recommendation from others(51.0%), reputation as a cancer specialty hospital(21.0%) and excellent facilities and technology (16.1%). In the questionnaire related to the kindness of staff, it showed that the staff at the window was relatively unkind. TV as incidental facility had the most dissatisfaction(69.0%), and the customers were not satisfied with parking facility(45.6%) and store in the hospital (32.5%). In general, the satisfaction questionnaire items on the medical services, 39.9% of 67.935 points displayed satisfaction. In and out patient, both had high satisfaction toward the medical services, and recommendation from another person greatly weighted as a major information resource of choosing a hospital. By responding effectively with the recognition of strong and weak points of the patients as customers of hospital in this study, continuous studies must be implemented by the devoted hospital management for improvements, and provide better medical services for customers.

Agile manufacturing is a new expression that is used to represent the ability of a producer of goods and services to thrive in the face of continuous change. Theses changes can occur in markets, in technologies, in business relationships and in all faces of the business enterprise. Particularly, the ability to respond quickly and effectively to satisfy customers has become a defining characteristic of competitiveness for all manufacturing companies. While there has been much publicity about the concept of agile manufacturing, achieving agility in manufacturing companies has proved to be extremely challenging. One of the fundamental factors contributing to this difficulty is that no manufacturing company can function in isolation: every company is inevitably integrated within a complex supply chain network where it plays the roles of both customer and vendor to other companies. Hence, a manufacturing company cannot become agile unless its relationships with the supply chain are also agile. The key to supply chain improvement is to link supply chain strategy to the overall business strategy. A seven-step process for implementing supply chain strategy can be suggested. That is 1) Determine supply chain strategies. 2) Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities. 3) Define supply chain goals and key performance indicators. 4) Develop detailed work plans. 5) Periodically review performance achievement. 6) Execute plans to achieve results. 7) Monitor progress and make adjustments.

Advertising, one of the four major tools that companies use to direct persuasive communication to target buyers and publics, has received much attention in recent business literature and among consumers in Korea as a result of rapid economic growth. The purpose of this study is to analyze student attitudes toward advertising through the attitude test. A field survey was conducted to study the attitude of students in Daegu area toward advertising. The main results are as follows: 1. General attitudes toward advertising are positive. 2. Attitudes toward the institution of advertising are positive. 3. Attitudes toward the instrument of advertising are negative. 4. Perceived level of attention to advertising is strong. 5. Avoidance of advertising is moderate. 6. Perceived effect of advertising on purchase is strong. 7. Perceived effect of friends on purchase is strongly positive. 8. Perceived level of exposure to advertising is positively extreme.

This paper intends to study forecasting models of Price-Earnings Ratios(PER) by using accounting information in the Korean stock market. The use of forecasting models of relevant Accounting Information Systems(AIS) is helpful to change the investment method used the financial statements, core of accounting informations. This paper tried to represent that the investment method using the forecasting models of AIS would be helpful to invest. This study uses the Holthausen and Larcker(1991) methodology. Their study supports that the investment strategy forecasting PER directly and composing the portfolio will bring forth better results than those of Ou and Penman forecasting the accounting income first and composing the portfolio on the basis of that information. Therefore this paper analyzes the differences among the results of models applied various methodology to investment strategy of Holthausen and Larcker. This paper uses Artificial Neural Networks(ANN) model. The data examined span 14 years from 1983 to 1996. 58 fundamental variables of analysis are used from financial statements in Korean manufacturing companies. The result indicates that ANN model in forecasting accuracy is about 58%.

This study reviews an overview of the current local tax system of real estate and provides the directions for developing tax system for real estate in the Local Tax Law. The taxation of acquisition of real estate are Acquisition Tax, Registration Tax, and Local Education Tax. The taxation of holding real estate are Property Tax, Aggregate Land Tax, Urban planning Tax, Community Facility Tax, Farmland Tax, Business Place Tax, Inhabitant Tax, and Local Education Tax. The property tax system was renewed by reinforcing taxation on real estate holdings. This includes a progressive aggregate land tax consolidating the property tax on land. In addition, the tax burden on a land-holding should be raised up.

The purpose of this study is to measure the managerial efficiency for Korea Community Credit Cooperatives(KCC) using Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA). DEA was first introducd by Cahrnes, Cooper and Rhodes(CCR) in 1978. It has been extensively applied to many areas. Most of the DEA applications have been for public sectors and non-profit organizations. The major objective of this study is to evaluate the reliability of DEA, for the measurement of efficiency of KCC compared with using ratio analysis and regression analysis. The samples for empirical analysis were 13 areas KCC. The period 1998 and 1999. The major findings are as fillows : 1. First, the correlation analysis carry out all variables. The six variables correlated in 1998 and 1999. Expecially, the supply of profit is hightly correlated in 1999. 2. The ratio analysis are performed four ratio. The over three ration efficiency DMU are DMU3, DMU8, DMU11 in 1998 and DMU8, DMU10, DMU11 in 1999. 3. The regression analysis result is good in 1999 more than in 1998. Expecially, the all DMUs are good performance in the field of deposit money(1999) 4. The result of technical efficiency is four DMUs good performance in 1998, and eight DMU good performance in 1999. The five DMUs are bad performance in 1998 and 1999. 5. The difference analysis of ranking are performed. The result are ratio analysis differ in 1998. The regression analysis and the itself analysis result are differ in 1999. 6. The result of synthesize : the measure value are ten value. The DMU8 and DMU11 are eight value efficiency in 1999. The low measure value are one and two in 1998. But, the low measure value are three in 1999. Therefore, in the 1999 are efficiency more than in the 1998. In conclusion, this study shows that the DEA approach is not only complementary to ratio analysis and regression analysis in evaluation performance KCC but also a useful management tool in reallocation resources. DEA method could be powerful tool for performance evaluation method especially when it is used together with other approaches.

Information System Outsourcing is wide spread phenomenon in modern computerized business organizations. Through outsourcing, organizations can provide better service and acquire and maintain a competitive advantage. Recently, most of companies have an increasing interest about outsourcing for Information System. The outsourcing agreement is one of the technology transactions. The imperfection of the technology market causes critical two problems(the pre-contract and the post-contract hazard) for the trading parties involved. This study examines the post-contract hazard of outsourcing agreements from vendor`s perspective, specially, focusing on safeguards against the outsourcing company`s opportunism likely to reduce the value of the transaction-specific assets invested by the vendors. Designing an efficient governance structure to cope with the opportunism is one of the critical issues dealt with by Transaction Cost Approach. Transaction Cost Approach has suggested three options of safeguards for the trading parties to choose: the hierarchy, the hostage, and the contractual agreement with hierarchical elements. In this study an alternative to safeguard against opportunism is examined from the resource dependence perspective. In this study, transaction cost variables and dependence balancing variables are analysed as determinants of the vendor`s customer bonding behavior. Also, perceived level of vendor`s satisfaction is examine. 78 usable responses were returned form the survey, using this responses Factor, Correlation and Regression analysis are performed.

This study, focusing on the general problems and improvement measures because of the fast development of e-commerce, will look into its overall concepts, domestic and overseas situation and specifically point out the problems in the Korean e-commerce and suggest improvement measures to tackle them. As information communication technology develops, the range and market size of e-commerce are speedily expanding. Therefore, in keeping with this trend, entrepreneurs are showing great interest in e-commerce to seize not only international competitiveness but also preempt competitive edge in the market in the future, based on the fact that it will have an extraordinary effect on the process and outcome of business. Advanced countries are strategically operating e-commerce to keep or strengthen the competitiveness of their countries and companies. Especially, they are making efforts to secure competitiveness for the interest of their own country, globalizing e-commerce through multilateral organizations, such as the OECD and APEC. Compared with those countries, domestic e-commerce is at its infant stage but is expected to grow rapidly. With its development, e-commerce gave rise to several problems. This study will look into three aspects of them: operational system, institutional unreadiness, and human resources. Firstly, the problems in operational system include consumers` lack of recognition, delivery problems, vulnerability of technologies like standardization, development of core factors, and lack of various products. Secondly, in the institutional side, the problems are security and unpreparedness for legal and institutional mechanism. Lastly, those in the human resources comprise lack of experts and organizations to train them. Later this study will seek ways to improve these problems. They can be solved through such measures as, supplement a legal and institutional mechanism, establish a formal consulting group in relation to e-commerce, supply various and differentiated products as well as information, defer e-commerce tax, intensify regulations on undue transactions and illegal behavior, complement e-commerce signature, solidify relief function to prevent consumers` damages occurred in the process of e-commerce, expand information as well as education for the sake of consumers, and strengthen international cooperation.

This paper proposes a personalized product information service method in Internet shopping malls. Based on customer`s initial profile information, behavior information and purchase history, the proposed method displays appropriate product information on Internet web pages when customers visit to the shopping malls. Customers interest scores for product groups, which are main sources to select products information, are stored in the interest table.

This is supply chain. This is a method to deal with various logistics problems, not through individual firms` reponses but joint responses among enterprise. The definition of supply chain means the information flux connected with the changing process from the stage of abstracting raw materials to customers. In this section, object and information flows in both up and down directions. Supply chain indicates that the pressure of reducing costs, increase a need for customers satisfaction, time reduction, increase of inventory are changed by the competition among industrial Network systems. moreover, outsourcing for not only reducing costs but also improving customers satisfaction and E-business using communication network such as the internet is one way for reducing costs in new economics system.

What is most important in the Cybertrade is all about trading On-Line Goods. In terms of visible products, trading including contract, payment, and shipping documents can be carried out through computerization or automatization. However in terms of On-Line Goods, the real transmission is carried out not by physical transmission but by wire transmission, which needs for new customs, system and rules. In addition, such a wire transmission needs a totally different marketing strategy from the beginning of trade. Therefore conflicts in the wire transmission should be solved in a different way from the existing one. As communication networks such as the Internet have been developed, the world trade environment rapidly changes. It is necessary that we adapt ourselves to the changes while prepare for the future. To activate the Cyertrade, first our government should avoid overwhelmingly restricting, taxing, and censoring on the trade, leading to control the market by the principle of market. The second role of our government is to let the general rules of Cybertrade made by business and individuals concerned not by government, itself. The third role is to let the Internet relevant industries operated by the rule of competition among businesses and individuals or consumers` choice not by the government regulations. Finally, the government as representative not as regulator should constitute various kinds of regulations for an active and smooth Cybertrade around the world. At the same time, businesses and individuals should recognize the importance of credit in the Cybertrade and keep commercial morals intact. The Cybertrade is not already completed. It is like a fledgling. The trade will change into a more economical and effective direction, accomplished by a lot of new problems. It requires to conduct a serious study not only on intellectual rights, taxation, internationally unified customs and procedure, protection of individual information and customers but also on effective and reasonable development of Internet related technology and communication technology.

In Korea, a corporation and bank has been close-relationship through banking loan for a long time. So it must deserves special emphasis that bank-role of the monitor and checker on corporate management, so to call bank-centered corporate governance. Empirical analysis of this study that Busan·Ulsan·Kyungnam`s corporations has been close-relationship through banking loan. And these corporations strongly expect to bank-role on the corporate management. In addition, it needs to more and depth study about bank-role on corporate governance.
