Main drivers of knowledge activities such as knowledge sharing and utilization are individual members of an organization and thus knowledge management strategies should be discussed in relationship with human capital. This study was to reveal how human capitals of deluxe hotels located in Seoul affect knowledge sharing and utilization. The results shows that human capital has a great effect on the knowledge sharing and utilization. In addition, knowledge sharing effect on the knowledge utilization The results of this research shows that for competitive advantage under the competitive environment of the hotel industry, in addition to human resource management and organizational management, the management system which emphasizes the importance of human capital, knowledge sharing and utilization.

This study aims to examine how hotel FandB employees' self efficacy and job characteristics, one of environmental variants, can influence his psychological burnout in performing his duty. It is also another goal of this study to provide strategic materials through making out preventive measures against the psychological burnout. To accomplish the goals, a field survey was conducted on the FandB employees' of the Deluxe hotels in Seoul area. The results of this study, based on a positive analysis, could be summarized as follows. First, the skill variety, task significance, task identity, autonomy and feedback turned out to have affirmative effects on hotel FandB employee's self efficacy. Second, the autonomy and feedback turned out to have a negative effect on hotel FandB employees' emotional exhaustion. Third, the autonomy turned out to have a negative effect on hotel FandB employees' dehumanization. Fourth, the feedback turned out to have a negative effect on the decrease of hotel FandB employees' sense of achievement. Fifth, hotel FandB employee's self efficacy turned out to have a negative effect on his emotional exhaustion, dehumanization and the decrease of his sense of achievement.

There has been increasing interest in medical tourism as people are getting more concerned about their health and well-being. This study was conducted to compare Japanese and Chinese regarding participation intention in medical tourism to Korea because Japanese and Chinese were considered as an major market for Korean medical tourism product. More specifically, their intention to participation of medical tourism, their preference on medical activities as well as tour activities, and the reason for participating in medical tourism to Korea. From the results of the study, their participation intention and preference is different between Japanese and Chinese on medical tourism to Korea. Japanese are more intended to participate in medical tourism, however if they visit Korea for medical tourism, Chinese wants to stay longer in Korea. And Chinese are more interested in tour activity in Korea than Japanese. More specifically, Japanese and Chinese are different regarding their preferred medical activity and tour activity as well as reason for participating in medical tourism to Korea.

This study analyze the effects of customer maintain using the customer trust and switching-barrier as independent variables respectively. There were three hypotheses tested: 1) the relations between customer trust and switching-barrier. 2) the relations between customer trust and customer maintain, 3) the relations between switching- barrier and customer maintain. Total 280 respondents were surveyed by personal self-administration questionnaire at the five-star restaurants in Seoul between 2012.3.20. - 4.5. Purposive sampling technique was applied. The Principle Component Analysis (PCA) method was used as statistical data analysis. Three major results were founded. First, the effect of customer trust to the switching-barrier was positively accepted. Second, the relations between customer trust and customer maintain also proved in positive way. Third, the effect of switching-barrier toward customer maintain was strongly proved. The research results imply that various custom-made items will be recommended matching with the needs of individual customer, such as accuracy of reservation, satisfaction of desires, price, and promise fulfillment to provide trust toward the customers from the side of hotel.

본 논문은 정부가 지원하는 대학생 해외인턴쉽 프로그램의 호텔관광 분야에 참 가한 학생들의 설문 조사를 분석하여 프로그램의 효과와 문제점을 살펴보고, 인턴쉽 이 보다 효율적으로 운영될 수 있도록 하기 위해서 활성화를 위한 개선 사항을 제시 하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 조사 결과 해외인턴쉽 사업은 실용적인 언어능력향상, 전 공 관련 실무 습득, 글로벌 마인드 증진, 학업에 매진하도록 하는 동기부여, 자신감 고 취, 해외교류 활성화, 및 국내외 취업 기회 부여 등의 측면에서 효과적인 것으로 조사 되었다. 참가 학생들의 설문 결과 개선 사항으로 예산 증액, 프로그램 기간 조정, 현지 문화체험 등의 대학 자율성 부여, 인턴쉽 국가 다양화, 전공에 따른 어학 기준 차별화, 인턴쉽 정보 교류의 통로 마련 등을 제시하였다. 대학생 해외인턴쉽 사업은 졸업 후 호텔관광 산업분야에 취업하려는 학생들에게 직무관련 능력을 준비시키고 전문성과 경쟁력 있는 호텔관광 분야 전문직무능력개발을 위해 더욱 활성화되어 많은 학생들이 참여하도록 장려되어야 한다.

Nowadays, many businesses provide Self-Service Technology(SST) which customers utilize the technology by them. The SST rapidly changes the traditional relationship of service encounter, which depended on personal interaction between customers and employees. The hotels are recently increasing reservation services through Internet technology. However, the use of new technology leads to users’ disappointment and conflict without reference to their benefit and effect, which it has paradoxical nature like anxiety and stress frustration causing customer’s evasion and opposition behavior. This study was designed to settle the concept and type of technology paradox in the situation of SST in hotel to empirically analyze the mediator of performance ambiguity how the element of technology paradox affects technology trust based on consumer duality test. A survey was carried out to verify the research model and the hypothesis on customers of hotel or travel booking experience.

In this study, we explored the effects of Participatory Experiences in Festival on psychological well-being and Cultural Awareness of Migrant Women. A survey was conducted of Migrant Women of Multicultural festival Participation 20 May in 2012. 202 of 250 questionnaires were used for analyze data and exploratory factor and reliability analysis were achieved by using SPSS WIN 19.0 statistical package, and regression analysis was performed to testify research hypothesis. As a result, Participatory Experiences in Festival had statistically positive (+) relationship in Cultural Awareness and psychological well-being. Psychological well-being, also, indicated statically positive relationship in Cultural Awareness. In addition, it proves the fact that "leisure" is the key factor to integrate married immigrants into society and settle as a healthy member of society and making good use of spare time is the most significant value.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the duties and tasks of international conference protocol using the DACUM method. In order to achieve the objective, the following research questions are formed. First, what are duties and tasks of international conference protocol? Second, what are general knowledge, skills, work behaviors, tools, future trend and concerns of international conference protocol? Third, what are the level of importance, difficulty and frequency of each task? Forth, what are the key tasks of international conference protocol? In order to answer the above research questions, the DACUM method and the survey method were used. Seven duties and 42 tasks were identified as the international conference protocol's job content and the level of importance, difficulty and frequency was measured for each task. Based on the level of these three categories. 12 tasks were identified as key tasks. Among the 12 key tasks. 11 tasks were belong to preparing protocol, inviting VIP and banquet. Also the competencies such as attitude, knowledge, skills and abilities required for the international conference protocol were identified. The result of this study can be utilized to develop training contents for education institutions to train international conference protocol organizer as well as on-the-job training materials. Further studies are needed in the area of identifying general knowledge, skills and attitude of the international conference protocol organizer in each key task. Also since the sample of this study are mainly international conference organizer who work in professional conventional organizer located in Seoul metropolitan area, further study should include international conference protocol organizer in other cities and other convention fields.

Recently, local festivals of our nation do its best for quality up through the contents differentiation and specialized management of programs as well as facilities. In other words, raising the attraction of festival. And due to the fact that festivals as a way of the local marketing have to be planned and operated with local brand strategy of the local government, this study shows an analysis of the effect relationship between attraction of local festival and local brand equity. The result of this study says that the attraction of local festival has a meaningful effect on the local brand equity. Especially, it revealed that three factors excepting purchase affect brand awareness and analyzed that the program is a variable to affect all four factors in the local brand equity. It is also analyzed that the brand awareness and image and perceived quality with respect to the cognitive level had a meaningful effect on the brand royalty by performing a verification of hierarchical effect among the brand equities. Therefore this study proposes the necessity which the local government and the festival office need to administer the local brand through the festival, and the contents with the attraction of local festival and the local brand equity of cognitive level.

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate airscape items of the low cost carriers using the method of Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA), and then to examine the structural relationship among airscape factors, satisfaction, and behavioral intention. Some suggestions deduced from quantitative evaluations are as following. The results of IPA indicate that all items of factor 1(stability for emergencies & signage) would be necessary for continuous maintenance, whereas all items of factor 2(in-flight entertainments) were was assessed to be low. In other words, factors of airscape appeared to be positioned differently [quadrant Ⅰ (Maintenance): factor 1, quadrant Ⅲ(Low Priority): factor 2]. Meanwhile, the results of structural equation modeling show that factor 1(stability for emergencies & signage) had a positive influence on satisfaction, whereas factor 2(in-flight entertainments) did not have any statistically significant effect on satisfaction. Also, satisfaction had a positive effect on behavioral intention. Finally, after examining indirect effect by constructs, factor 1 (stability for emergencies & signage) is important to form indirect relation for behavioral intention about the low cost carriers.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of the way of using performance measurement system(PMS) on the service quality. The way of using PMS was divided into diagnostic and interactive purposes of PMS. Also, the service quality was divided into process and outcome service quality. 292 data were analyzed by statistic package, AMOS version 18.0 for the purpose of this study. Interactive purpose of PMS is likely to influence on the both service qualities, process and outcome quality. Diagnostic purpose of PMS is likely to influence only the outcome service quality. PMS should be carefully monitored by the hotel manager who want to improve service quality to stimulate the PMS. At same time, if the hotel manager want improve process service quality, it is recommended that he/she should consider the interactive not diagnostic purpose of PMS.

This study was to investigate if there are moderative relationships between eco- tourism visit expectation and visit performance, and between visit performance and support of sustainable Eco-tourism development. Recently, a number of visitors for sustainable tourism or Eco-tourism has been increased but a little studies have been conducted to see if how important environmental education for visitors affect their visitor performance and support of Eco-tourism. Based on the literature review, a survey questionnaire was developed and the data collected from on-site survey at three different places in Seoul. Research model and questions were suggested and data analysis was explained, In order to solve the research questions presented in this study, multiple regression and hierarchial regressions were conducted. Findings and implication were discussed in the conclusion section.

This study is about the wellness, life satisfaction, leisure satisfaction, and quality of life of the tourists visiting Pohang City. The objective of the study is to provide strategic implications in connection with the wellness for tourism businesses. The results are as follows. All hypotheses had a positive, significant influence in relation with wellness, leisure satisfaction, life satisfaction, and quality of life. Therefore, tourism businesses of Pohang City will have to enhance leisure satisfaction, life satisfaction, and quality of life through tourists’ social and emotional wellness. To do that, Pohang City should create favorable conditions, both hardwares and softwares, in order for tourists to interact with the surroundings and other people such as family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, other tourists, etc. For those tourists visiting Pohang City to have positive attitudes and mind on the quality of life, Pohang City has to set various conditions and the environment for enhancing life satisfaction and leisure satisfaction. The results of the study suggest that Pohang City can give tourists to Pohang City satisfaction only through creating these conditions and the atmosphere, and those satisfied, revisiting, and loyal customers can, in turn, generate sustainable tourism for Pohang City.
