The primary purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of personal values and vacation styles, psychological variables for more understanding of vacation behavior by examining the factor structures of the two scales, Kahle's LOV(1983) and Zins's vacation styles(1998). The factor structure of LOV(Kahle, 1983), an instrument to measure personal values, is analyzed to be 8 items and 2 factors model. The factor analysis of vacation styles, measured by the scale used in Zins(1998) shows 18 items and 5 factors model. For the effect of the variables of Personal Values and vacation styles, intrinsic values have statistically significant connection with rest/safety, culture/spectacle, fun/entertainment and extrinsic values with rest/safety, familiarity/atmosphere, challenge/experience. Both intrinsic and extrinsic values are showed to be related to rest/safety.

The purpose of this study is to provide the greatest satisfaction for tourist in developing tourist train commodity which included a Korean culture and a korean image through present situation of tourist train commodity and a case study. To achieve the purpose of this study, reference documentary analysis and statistical data analysis are done. Based upon the result of this study, I would like to suggest a specialization strategy as follows. It should be go ahead with regional culture, various kinds of events and a plan specialization commercialize on the resort area. The contents of this study are as follows: Ⅰ. The gradually increasing environment of market competition in Korean travel industry and economy crisis have urged travel agents to strive against the low profit with decreasing revenue. To develop right SIT(special interest tourism) product in environment can be offer not only travelers' satisfaction but also agents' profit. The core advantage of segmentation is that customers will be more satisfied with the product because it has been designed with their needs in mind. The purpose of this study is to analyze usefulness psychographics survey for SIT products market segmentation and to suggest useful marketing strategies for development of SIT products. AS a result of collecting questionnaire from the respondents 8 different types are classified in accordance with the characteristics of psychographics style. This study results indicate that psychographics factors are useful to segment SIT market as much as demographic factors. This study has a limitation which can offer the direction of the study in the future. That is limited sample in empirical survey as 20 or 30 ages.

The purpose of this study is to present an influencing factor which effects on front desk agent job satisfaction and to help improve their job satisfaction. In order to achieve the above purpose, I have run parallel analysis with both the literature and empirical study. I adopted a questionnaire for the empirical study, which is based on a literature study basically. The result of this study is First, Female is lower than man on the personnel evaluation of merits. second, career within 1 year has a good relationship with manager. on the other side, Career with over 7years has a low recognition on the personnel evaluation. third, Working Environment and duty right is lower than other factors. So the suggestion of this study is as follows. 1. Offer the opportunity of promotion equally between male and female. 2. Necessity of manager's retraining and reeducation for taking the qualities of professional knowledge and staff control. 3. Magnification of duty right in working and Improvement of working environment.

The purpose of this study was to find out what the sales increase plan of F&B in the tourist hotel by image mix.. To achieve the purpose of this study, theoretical and empirical study was used. In review of theoretical background, basic concepts and strategy of image were studied. Based on the theoretical studies and previous studies, corporate image attributes were chosen. The period of research was 35days from Dec. 18, 2000 to Jan. 20, 2001. Among the 300 copies of questionnaire distributed, 143 were returned, but only 117 were analyzed after screening missing or reckless answers. The statistical analysis of data was conducted using techniques of frequency analysis, regression analysis. The ultimate objectives of this study is to suggest the effective direction to set up the sales increase plan by using image mix. But this study had limits on sampling was extracted deluxe hotels in Seoul because of time limitation. Therefore, the more systematic and continuos study should be executed to overcome those kind of limits.

The aim of this study was to propose strategies of tourism developments in Young-ju area (placed in the northen area of Kyong-sang-buk-do province). First of all, the author investigated into the present conditions of cultural/tourism resources in Young-ju area and then tried to find out possibilities of tourism developments of Young-ju area to activate Youngju-area's economy. In planing cultural/tourism developments, regional characters and social/cultural environments and economical conditions should be considered. In addition to this, the developments should not only be profitable both to regional economy and to regional citizens but minimize effects on the ecosystem. Considering these above conditions, the present study tried to propose strategies tourism developments in Young-ju area to maximize characteristics of regional tradition and history.

The purpose of this study is to expand requisite lodging facilities in anticipation of the international mega events such as 2002 World Cup through home-stay. The result of this study indicate as follows: First, we need a supporting system by the government to extend and rebuild home-stay facilities. Second, we need a special training Program to educate host-families. Third, we have to develope reservation system through database. Fourth, we have to build up systematic promotion strategy and mutual cooperation system between a private organization and the government. The limitations of this study are as follow. This study was not performed more subdividable study by a type of home-stay. Therefore, I hope that a further study to overcome this limitations are being expected and would keep some more comparative study. The contents of this study are as follows: Ⅰ. This study investigated the impact of travel characteristics on airline customers' perception and satisfaction levels of cabin service quality. Airline cabin service was categorized into five factors: hospitality/reliability, F&B service, amenity and duty-free shopping, physical evidence, and recreation service. It was revealed that some travel characteristics such as travel purpose, destination, length of duration, size of the travel group, seat class, and membership are possible antecedents of customers' perception and satisfaction levels of airline cabin service quality.

Tourism event is not only an effective way to enhance the local characteristics and image, it is also a useful means to the marketing for regional promotion. Therefore the objectives of this study is as follows; verifying the relations between tourism event and local image, presenting the problems and ways to improve for enhancement of image through tourism event by analysing the present conditions of the tourism event in 6 regions, located in east coast, which need to create the new image. As a result, the tourism event established through the local image can attract more tourists to visit, increase more incomes from the tourists and activate local economy by bringing regional distinctive and active aspects into relief. Consequently, a theme selection considered regional color and history, developing various experience programs and tourism packages, making local character and symbol, unity of CI and systematic promotion plan are presented to develop the east coast area and distinguish the regional image.

This paper deals with the impact of Internet on distribution channels in the travel industry. The travel industry is currently undergoing a major transition in distribution channels as the Internet exerts its power as a new medium for commerce. In the past, there has been three principal parties in distributing travel products: the travel providers, the GDSs where travel providers display information about their products, and the travel agents. Each party needed the others to perform its business. The internet is changing all the distribution rules in the travel industry, where distribution has traditionally meant paying GDS's and travel agents certain amount of fees or commission to book their orders. Initially, participants viewed Internet distribution as a threat to travel agents because it gives consumers direct access to a GDS via the Web. However, direct links to the travel providers bypass not only the GDS's and traditional travel agents but also the Internet travel providers. The advent of online distribution increases the tension between the participants in the travel industry. The various parties would like to drive travel distribution into their own corner.

The primary purpose of this study is to develope a model of the budget tourism hotels for the expansion countermeasure of lodging facility in the governmental dimension with ASEM, 2002 Worldcup holding. Also this study is to provide the basic information for judging the validity of the budget tourist hotel project. The Model of budget tourist hotel is divided into three types for meeting the various customer's demand. Type "A" is for business travelers, type "B" is for group and family travelers, and type "C" is for family travelers and extended-stay travelers. Each types discriminate against room size, room facility, and price. From this study, we found the problems for developing budget tourist hotels, and showed an improvement plan. We hope that the next study would keep more substantial and systematic studies about the model development of budget tourist hotels.
