This paper outlines and discusses a strategic and holistic approach to crisis management for the tourism industry. It's purpose aims to identify the impact of disease such as the new influenza A(H1N1) infection. The paper provides a brief summary of the key points and considerations for an influenza pandemic suggested with specific strategies from three steps; pre-crisis, crisis, and recovery. To avoid panic and the impact of epidemics, there are several strategies, such as honesty and openness from governments, effective global health surveillance system, ongoing public education programs with campaigns, investigation of cases, protection manual before crisis, tourism safety program with SOS, national call center with public communication plan during the crisis and recovery steps, marketing plan, service managers' awareness, collaborative promotional programmes, task force team, a network of national and regional tourism management centers. The future research should address the flow and impact of tourists' arrivals at the tourism destination while crisis happens.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the residents' participation behavior which is an important factor of the success of mega-event. As the determinants of residents' participation behavior in mega-event, residents' general characteristics as well as the perception of effects of mega-event were tested in this study. The data for the study were collected from residents in Daegu, which will be held IAAF International Championships in 2011. From the results of the study, two types of participation behavior in Mega-event were classified: participation in preparation process and participation during the event. Regarding resident's general characteristics, resident's interest in athletic sports affect both types of participation behavior in mega-event. The study also reveals that residents' perception of positive economic, social, cultural impacts of the event affect both types of participation behavior. Residents' perception of negative environment impact also affect their participation behavior. The results of the study implies that it is necessary for the residents to perceive the positive effects of mega-event. It helps for residents to participate in the event by themselves which is an importance factors of successful mega-event.

지역정체성과 지역축제이벤트 관계 연구 - 지역주민 방문객을 중심으로

This study was designed to analyze relationship recognition between community identity and local festival event. The survey was conducted from the 4th to 8th of April 2009 by residents visiting the Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival. By examining two concepts, three specific issues were addressed regarding the development of the local festival. The first issue was that local residents agreed local festivals have to reflect community identities, but most of Jeju island festivals haven't. The second issue was that Jeju Islanders think cherry blossom and the Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival will be the most representative image and local festival. The third issue was community identity is classified into two factors (local attachment and local pride), and the islanders with the stronger community identities had a more sensitive relationship between community identity and local festivals. For developing the festival, first, local residents should be recognized that a prunus yedoensis has originated from Jeju Island. Second, the festival committee should make several new eco-program and change the venue. Finally, as branding cherry blossom to the world, we need to make the Jeju Cherry blossom Festival represent Jeju Island.

This paper aims at inducing implications from advanced cases in Korea and Japan, related to closed school usage through culture and art in rural regeneration cases, and has focused on discussing on its general circumstances and several problems. And it tries to find some useful implication to be applied. In order to make this study be successful, this research chooses many cases in Korea and Japan. And it analyses its operation system, program and others. According to these investigations, the usage of closed school as follows, 1)art studio, 2)traditional culture training center 3)cultural experience center 4)museum/gallery. This study proposes some advice for the usage of closed school in Korea. As results, closed school has symbolic meaning for the community, sufficient discussion with residents is essential for the decision. And social and governmental support would be indispensible for the successful implication.

Service industries continue to grow in importance to the economy while at the same time service quality is generally perceived to be declining. For the customer, the observable symptom is decreasing quality in what has been termed the service encounter or the moment of interaction between the customer and the firm. This study concerns interrelationships among evaluation of customers, emotional response, attitude in airline service encounter. In this study, airline service in airline service encounters has been classified into human service, physical service and systematic service. As the result, it was found that airline services are influnce on customer's emotional response and attitude in alrline service encounters. Also, the emotional response is major determinant to influence on attitude. Therefore, it is required to take efforts to rise positive response and attitude. The significance of this investigation may be attached to the fact that preceding researches have been further expanded, with practical analyses throughly conducted.

Climate has been regarded as a key resource for tourism and the problem of climate change has emerged as one of the most important challenges and issue in tourism sector recently. This article aims to develop the conceptual framework on low carbon tourism and examines the definition and measurement through conceptualization process on low carbon tourism. To build the conceptual framework three categories such as adaptation-mitigation of climate change, sustainability of tourism, and tourism system were considered as key components. As a result of conceptualization, the concept of low carbon tourism was defined that it is a kind of tourism patterns that tourism system components such as tourist, destination, and tourism industry try to implement the mitigations and the adaptations to climate change in pursuit of sustainability of tourism. In the last step of the conceptualization, the measure and analysis methods of low carbon tourism were reviewed, which can be applied to carbon offset system like a carbon credit and analyzed the willingness to pay(WTP) of low carbon travel using contingent valuation method.

This study focuses on the negative results of transformational leadership. Conceptual examination on the previous studies about transformational leadership and relevant issues reveals that transformational leadership may have negative impacts on organizational effectiveness. Focusing on the possible negative results caused by transformational leadership this study empirically examine the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment which is composed by affective commitment and calculative commitment and the mediating role of burn-out. Literature and empirical studies which consists of regression analysis and mediating regression analysis results 1) transformational leadership increase affective commitment but has negative impact on calculative commitment and 2) burn-out partially mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and calculative commitment. Therefore this study implies that a hotel should manage the negative impacts of transformational leadership on organizational commitment and burn-out

This study tried to verify the influence how the service encounters affect on referral intentions, it is an essential factor for the customers to evaluate service in experience to the hotel industry. Also, the practical analysis has been done by customers who had ever used hotel restaurants located in Seoul to cross-check how to affect mediating effects on between service encounters and referral intentions. The results of the practical analysis discovered that the service encounters and the emotional attachments make an influence on referral intentions and the emotional attachments affect mediating effects on between service encounters and referral intentions. The ultimate results of this study brings up the new direction in ways the training of the hotel employees and customer relationship in management of the hotel restaurants.
