The purpose of the study is to analyze the change of the unbalanced national development by the construction of multifunctional administrative city and innovation cities. In this study, index of unbalanced national development is measured by unbalanced distribution of population on national land. Gini's coefficient is used to measure the unbalanced distribution of population. As a result, the construction of multifunctional administrative city and innovation cities will relieve the unbalanced national development. but the effect will be insignificant. For the relief of unbalanced national development, various policy and strategy will have to be developed.

Asymmetric risk measure have been used for modelling nonnormal returns distributions. Real estate returns are known to the representative asymmetric nonnormal distribution. This paper investigates which model based on asymmetric risk measures explain the variability of returns better in Korean housing sales markets. The model is general Asymmetric Response Model(ARM) nested with Lower Partial Moment(LPM) Model and CAPM. The results indicated that ARM is more value added than the other models for some housing in types, regions, and time periods. Presumably it is because Korea real estate markets are more transparent than before 1997 foreign exchange crisis, and diffusion ratio of house in some regions is higher than others. So, continuing reviews for the various models are required to analyze precisely the type/region of housing markets.

Two general relations among four different input and output requirements matrices and the decomposition by factors in the Leontief inverse were proposed by the author(1998, 2005). Furthermore, the inverse matrix , which describes the relation between the output requirements for final demand and the output requirements for output, and the matrix , which indicates the relation between the final demand and the final output , were derived by Gim(2005).From the research results above, the study objectives of this paper can be summarized as follows. (1) We perform a comparative analysis between the input-output and output-output models. (2) We build a new final demand-final output model and present the interindustry characteristics between the variables final demand and final output. (3) We empirically analyze the interdependence between final demand, total output, and final output based on the 2000 Input-Output Tables of Korea(Bank of Korea, 2003). Therefore, we hope that the use of three different models, which are entirely different on the impact effects and but there are mutually complementary, would permit us more flexibility in choosing the methods for handling economic issues and modeling real-world applications.

As the abandoned mining areas, 4 cities including Taebaek City and Jeongseon-gun have been at a standstill with the declined coal mining industries and rapidly reduced populations since the late 1980s. However, according to the 'Special Act for abandoned mining areas', they started to find the breakthrough with Gangwon Land established and tourism industry developed.In the meantime, these areas come into antagonism with each other due to the regional self-centeredness these days, whenever there are development-related issues, which make them not capable of the synergy effects under the mutual cooperation.To overcome this non-productive status, the purpose of this study is to consider the win-win plans and collaborations mainly focusing on the region-specialized industries featuring the environment-friendly new drive and tourism business, so that Taebaeck City and Jeongseon-gun could come true the mutual cooperation under the regional innovation as the representative abandoned mining areas.

지역별 특성에 따른 국민지적자본 측정지표 개발 : 광역시를 중심으로

지금까지의 연구에서 우리는 각 지역별 국민지적자본지수를 국민인적자본, 국민시장자본, 국민과정자본, 그리고 국민갱신 및 개발자본이라는 4가지 구성요소를 통하여 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 지역별 국민지적자본지수의 총합을 보면 서울시가 2.835로 가장 높고 다음이 대전광역시가 2.688을 보임으로서 서울과 대전에 국민지적자본이 집중되어 있음을 파악하였다. 그리고 여타 지역의 가중치지수 총합은 서울이나 대전의 65~80%에 그치고 있어 지역 간 격차가 뚜렷이 존재하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 특히 지역 간 격차가 심한 영역은 국민 갱신 및 개발자본 부문으로 대전광역시 0.709인데 비하여 인천광역시는 0.178로 약 4배에 가까운 차이가 나고 있다. 그 다음은 국민시장자본 부문과 국민인적자본 부문의 격차가 상대적으로 크게, 그리고 국민과정자본지수는 여타 지수에 비하여 지역 간 격차가 상대적으로 적게 나타나고 있다. 따라서 향후 국가정책이나 지역 간 균형발전에 있어서도 분야별 국민지적자본지수를 충분히 고려한 정책들이 수립되어야 할 것으로 본다. 이상과 같은 분석 결과로부터 다음과 같은 몇 가지 정책적 시사점을 찾아본다면 첫째, 국민지적자본지수의 분석 결과 서울과 대전을 제외한 나머지 광역시간 엄연한 격차가 존재한다는 사실은 정부의 지식기반산업의 활성화를 위한 정책지원에 있어서 지역 간 차등화가 필요함을 시사하고 있다고 보여 진다. 그러나 이러한 지역 간 차등화 정책은 국가적 측면에서의 경쟁력강화와 강화와 상충관계에 있을 수도 있으므로 이러한 측면에서의 연구와 함께 보완이 뒤따라야 할 것으로 본다.둘째, 부문별로 볼 때 지역 간 격차가 특히 심한 영역은 국민 갱신 및 개발자본 부문 이는 경쟁우위의 확보를 위해 이루어진 혁신 및 개발에 대한 실제적인 투자나 그 역량의 극대화를 위한 선택과 집중에서 기인된 것으로 국가적 차원에서의 상충관계와 지역간 균형의 유지를 위한 노력 또한 뒤따라야 할 것으로 본다. 셋째, 대구, 부산, 울산 등 비수도권 광역 중심도시의 국민지적자본축적 강화를 위한 중장기 전략과 추진방안의 마련이 필요시 되고 있다고 보여 진다. 본 연구는 지적자본의 특징의 이해하고 나아가, 측정지표 획득의 수월성에 중점을 두고 분석하였다. Bontis(2003)가 지적했듯이, 지표의 선택과 실제적인 사용에 있어서는 학술적으로 많은 논쟁을 불러올 수도 있다. 그리고 선택된 지표도 여전히 충분하지 않을 뿐더러 선행연구조차도 몇 개에 불과해 국민지적자본이 모두에게 인식되고 자리 잡기에는 아직도 부족한 점이 많다. 따라서 국민지적자본의 중요성에 비추어 볼 때 이 분야에 대한 연구는 향후에도 지속적으로 이루어져야 할 것으로 본다.

The purpose of this study is to propose the concept of the national intellectual capital and analyze the national intellectual capital index for seven metropolitan cities. The study focuses on the estimation of four types of national intellectual capital indexes, i.e., (i) national human capital, (ii) national market capital, (iii) national process capital, and (iv) national renewal and development capital. Major findings from the analysis can be summarized as follows. The highest national intellectual capital index is 2.835 which is Seoul. The next city is Daejeon which is 2.688. The lowest index is Daegu city which has only 1.865. The indexes of other cities are only 65%~80% of Seoul or Deajeon city. In addition, the results show that there are not only regional differences, but also centralizing upon Seoul and Daejeon cities in estimating indexes.

This research explored the performance of business incubators in Daejeon, Korea, specifically concentrating on the managers, tenants, and graduate companies of business incubators. This study reviewed the special characteristics of incubator managers, tenants and graduates and analyzed three specific measurements on the performance of business incubators: 1) the contribution of tenant and graduate companies to the regional economy, 2) the quality and performance of the incubator’s different support services, and 3) the performance of the support services for tenant and graduate companies taking root in Daejeon outside the incubator and the formation of networks within the community. As a basis for determining the performance of business incubators in Daejeon, data were compared between tenants and graduates, analyzing start-ups on both the linear and non-linear model, research and development innovation in start-ups as compared to that in corporations and in university and research institutes. Finally, this study suggested development strategies for business incubators in Daejeon, particularly in terms of technology commercialization support for tenant and graduate companies.

This study is to identify influential factors on membership and participation in Resident Autonomy Center as a community organization, and assess its effect on residents' collective efficacy. As influential factors, this study focuses on seven general categories such as socio-demographic characteristics, residential characteristics, neighborhood attachment, organizational climate, political efficacy, and decentralization. The logistic and general multiple regression analyses were carried out with 814 questionnaire data collected from 10 administrative Dong in Daejeon Metropolitan City. The result shows that in terms of membership, gender, age, educational level, marital status, cognitive neighborhood attachment, political efficacy, and perceived decentralization appear to be statistically significant. On the other hand, age, educational level, behavioral neighborhood attachment, organizational leadership and members' cohesion, and perceived decentralization have statistically significant influence on the level of participation. The result also shows if one is a married male with high income, there is a high possibility to become a Resident Autonomy Board member. The level of participation appears to have statistically significant effect on resident's collective efficacy. The conclusion provides some research implications.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze both city image factors affecting apartment purchasing behavior and relationship between consumer's housing choice and city image. Survey area was confined to Kangnam area which are only Kangnam, Seocho, and Songpa districts in Seoul. The reason why only Kangnam was selected as a target area for consumer survey is because 1) the region is the most preferable living area among Seoulites 2) the area has convenient living environment such as excellent educational surroundings and good infrastructure and 3) residents living in the region have a quite different socio-economic background such as high income and high educational level. By using delphi technique, housing specialists survey was performed in order to decide characteristics of city image that they are mainly influenced when choosing their house. The six kinds of city image characteristics came out from the survey. The six characteristics are Natural Environment, Transportation & Welfare Facilities, Educational Surrounding, Investment Value, Regional Atmosphere, and Regional Differentiation. As a final step of this study, consumer survey was carried out with a view to examining the relationship between city image and housing choice of Kangnam residents above age of 20 who experienced housing purchase by using canonical correlation analysis method.

Regional innovation support systems in Western Europe in a comparative perspective

지난 20여년 동안 서유럽의 정책결정자들 사이에 지역혁신이란 정책이 많은 인기를 가지고 있었다. 1990년대에 접어들어 지역혁신정책은 지역혁신지원체제란 보다 넓은 시각에 입각해서 조정되어야 한다는 주장이 나타나기 시작했다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 영국의 동북 잉글랜드, 독일의 바덴뷔르템부르그, 네델란드의 유트레트 등 3개 지역을 사례로 지역혁신정책을 비교·분석한 것이다. 본 연구는 필립 쿠크 교수가 주장한 풀뿌리 형, 네트워크 형, 통제형 등과 같은 지역혁신체제의 유형을 분석 틀로 해서 각 지역의 혁신정책을 비교·분석하였다. 그 결과 서유럽 국가들은 정치체제가 각각 다르기 때문에 지역혁신의 형태도 매우 다르나 EU가 추진하고 있는 지역혁신사업으로 인해 풀뿌리형이나 통제형에서 네트워크형으로 진화하고 있다고 주장하였다
