This study examines the relationship between inflation rate changes and income inequality in South Korea using quarterly data from 2006Q1 to 2024Q4. A dynamic regression model with lagged dependent variables serves as the baseline, with various robustness checks alongside IV-GMM estimation. Results show a positive conditional correlation between inflation rate changes and income inequality measured by the nominal income quintile share ratio, with the long-run cumulative multiplier converging to a positive value. Given limitations in endogeneity testing and nominal indicators, findings should be interpreted as conditional correlation rather than causal evidence, suggesting distributional considerations warrant policy attention during accelerating inflation.

This paper examines how the timing of follower entry is related to firms' production organization and investment decisions when introducing new products, using matched firm–plant-product data from the Korean Mining and Manufacturing Survey for the 1980s. It shows that followers are more likely than pioneers to establish new plants, and that among followers, the probability of new plant establishment and investment increase with follower lag. These relationships are weaker in industries with high R&D intensity. Overall, the findings document systematic variation in firms' production organization and investment at new product entry according to follower lag and industry technological characteristics.
