본 연구는 대형마트 의무휴업일이 일요일에서 평일로 변경된 대구와 부산의 사례를 이용하여, 대형마트에 대한 영업 규제 완화가 지역 상권 매출에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 신한카드 거래 자료를 기반으로 이중차분법을 적용한 실증분석 결과, 의무 휴업일 변경은 대형마트 인근 상권 및 지역 전체 마트 업종 매출에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 마트 업종에 한정하여 요일별 매출 변화를 분석한 결과, 일요일 매출의 증가분이 월요일 매출의 감소분과 상쇄되는 현상이 관찰되었다. 이러한 결과는 대형마트에 대한 규제 완화가 지역의 유통시장 규모 확대로 이어지지 않을 수 있음을 시사한다.
This study examines the impact of relaxing operating regulations on large-scale retail stores by analyzing cases in Daegu and Busan, where mandatory closure days were shifted from Sundays to weekdays. Using transaction data from Shinhan Card and employing a Difference-in-Differences (DID) estimation, the results indicate that the change in mandatory closure days had no statistically significant effect on sales in nearby commercial districts or on the overall sales of the retail sector in the region. Further analysis focusing on the retail sector by day of the week reveals that the increase in Sunday sales was offset by a decrease in Monday sales. These findings suggest that the deregulation of large retail stores may not necessarily lead to an overall expansion of the local retail market.

본 연구는 국민노후보장패널조사 2009–2023년 자료를 활용하여 중·고령자의 경제활동 참여가 주관적 건강상태와 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 횡단면 및 패널 분석 결과, 미취업에서 취업으로의 전환은 신체적·정신적 건강과 전반적 삶의 만족도를 통계적으로 유의하게 개선하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 여성은 나이가 많을수록 그 효과가 컸으며, 50대 남성의 경제활동은 가족관계에도 영향을 미쳤다. 또한, 가구 금융자산, 공적연금 수급, 가구주 여부 등도 건강 및 삶의 만족도와 밀접한 연관성이 있었다. 본 연구 결과는 괜찮은 일자리가 아 니더라도 경제활동을 유지하는 것 자체만으로도 중·고령자의 삶의 질이 향상될 수 있음을 보여준다.
This study uses data from the Korean Retirement and Income Study (2009–2023) to investigate the impact of economic activity on health and life satisfaction among middle-aged and older adults, employing cross-sectional and fixed-effects models. The findings indicate that transitioning into employment significantly improves both physical and mental health and overall life satisfaction. The effects are particularly strong for older women, while for men in their 50s, employment also enhances family relationship satisfaction. Household characteristics are also important correlates. The findings highlight the importance of improving job quality to enhance well-being.
