When considering that The Korean Association for Clinical Art introduced Arts Psychotherapy to Korea for the first time in 1980s, Korea already has the history of more than 20 years. As shown in its history, it can be evaluated that there have been a lot of quantitative expansions and qualitative reinforcements until now since various types of arts psychotherapy associations, academic societies and curer training schools were created. However, it is true that there were many problems to solve in the current time point. The purpose of this study was to suggest main viewpoint that shall be considered for the development of 'Korean Arts Psychotherapy' by researching developmental process and meaning of German Arts Psychotherapy from the integrative viewpoint and its trend about social, vocational role, legal protection and curer nurturing process. The study suggested the problem of nurturing institution, academic system and legal status of license and analyzed and introduced integrative therapy model of Germany in order to solve the problem. It was essential to develop Korean type integrative therapy theory by using more developed theory and system of other country as model.

This study's aim was to corroborate the effects of art therapy accompanied with Parents' Counselling on the children's control of depression/anxiety. The study subjects were the child, 6-year-old, with depression/anxiety disorders and her parents. From May 2007 to Apr. 2008, 32 art therapy sessions in total were conducted once a week and each session took 50minutes. Both the mother and the child took part in three sessions, and the child only in 29sessions. As the evaluation tools, Kovacs' Children's Depression Inventory(CDI), State Anxiety Inventory for Children(SAIC) were conducted before and after the session. Each session the child's behaviors were analyzed by comparing the changes in the test scores. Also problematic behaviors of the child were documented each session and described by the counsellor after analyzing the subjects' behavior through observation of the mother and counsellor together. The results of this study are as follow. First, the art therapy programs accompanied with Parents' Counselling were effective for reducing the depression of the children. Second, these programs were effective for reducing the anxiety of the children. The results above may support the effectiveness of art therapy to treat the children's depression/anxiety. In addition, Parents' Counselling and the 3sessions which both the mother and the child took part in gave positive effects mother to understand her child and brought positive changes in her parenting attitude by expressing the inner thoughts of the mother and by communicating with the symbolic meanings of the artworks. Accordingly, from the results of this study can be very useful to reduce a level of depression/anxiety of children.

The purpose of this study was to find out the effects of a group art therapy to improve a few highschool girls' self-expression and school adjustment. The subjects of this study were four first-year highschool girls. All of them were seventeen years old, and attending a foreign language highschool located in city C. The case study consisted of weekly sessions spanning from September 6th, to December 6th, 2006, thirteen sessions in total. The instrument used in this study were the self-expression scales, school adjustment scales and KSD for 2 times, pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed by paired sample t-test and KSD test was used in data interpretation for finding therapeutic effectiveness. The results from this study were as follows; First, according to the subject's self-expression and school adjustment has been impoved the self-expression scales' and school adjustment scales' analyz. Second, according to the subject's improved behaviorals on school adjustment according to the changes on KSD. This group art therapy showed that it is effective in positive way for the improvement of self-expression and school adjustment of some highschool girls.

This research was performed to know the effect of a Therapeutic-music-play program created by the author for the development of a few children's self-concept, who were under an integrated education. For the research, an integrated class with four disabled and three normal children was chosen, And four different therapeutic-music-play program were used sixteen times in total, the contents of which came from some nursery tales. The Therapeutic Music Paly Program was performed by children and the comparison of the differences in self-concept advancement of children was observed before and after the application of programs. As a result of conducting Therapeutic Music Play Program there was not much differences in terms of Physical Concept development. Nevertheless, the Friend and General Self Concepts showed statistically significant differences at the viable level of 0.05. Generally, they increased positively in their mutual interaction and self-confidence after the application of Therapeutic Music Play Program. Particularly, the disabled children were showed more progressive self-concept and positive mutual interaction than the normal children. Therefore, the Therapeutic Music Play Program as an integrated education should be helped to increase the self-concept of children.

This case study was an application of the developmental art therapy to a mentally retarded child for the purpose of improving his(or her) self-expression. Subject was a child who diagnosed mental retardation at K university hospital and showed lack of self-expression. His(or her) developmental level was preoperational stage, and He(or she) attended at kindergarten. Art therapy session has been conducted total of 28 sessions, two or three times per week form February 12th 2007 to May 10th, 2007, and each session was 40 minute. This program was designed with two parts: first term was the preparation stage that designed to arouse the subject's interest, and the second term was the stage in which the subject could fully express himself(of herself) through the given tools. The assessment tools were Development Assessment(Aach-Feldman & Kunkle -Miller, 1987)and the HTP(House-Tree-Person) Drawing Test. The study results were followed, `First, the developmental art therapy increased a mentally retarded child's self-expression. Second, the developmental art therapy increased a mentally retarded child's self-expression. Third, the developmental art therapy changed the outcomes of self-expression item in HTP tests. This study had a limitation of generalization as a case study, but it could be identified the effectiveness of the developmental art therapy for self-expression of a mentally retarded child.

This study aimed to find the effect of group music therapy on the selfexpression of adolescent mental retardation. Mentally retarded adolescents showed the difficulty in acquirement in language, thinking and behavior regulatory function by retarded intelligence development. Adaptative behavior appeared to be defective by lack of achieving the task which is asked by the society. Consequently, it was important for them to express properly. This study examined to see the effect of self-expression through group music therapy for the mentally retarded adolescents who are able to be educated. With twenty four subjects who are attending the settlement after their school in J city, the experimental group ran 22 sessions of the group music therapy from November 6th 2006 to April 23rd 2007 for once a week. Followings were the result of the study. First, the group music therapy did not cause a significantly meaningful change in the verbal expression of youngsters with mental impediment. Second, the group music therapy caused a significantly meaningful change in the phonetic expression of youngsters with mental impediment. Third, the group music therapy appeared to have the positive effect on the nonverbal expression for the youngsters with mental impediment. From what we found it was revealed that the group music therapy had a positive effect on their self- expression. From the reality of lacking the systematic program, the result of this study was significant for suggesting the direction to help the adolescent with mental impediment to keep their life well by reducing the difficulty in proper self-expression.
