This paper empirically investigates the announcement effect of overseas equity related securities issuance by the 336 Korean firms between 1992 and 2001. After we reviewed the performance of overseas securities issuance firms from the existing literature, we collected data from the Korea Stock Exchange. The research was conducted by an event study. Specifically, abnormal returns are calculated by market model with parameters estimated over the 190 trading days before the event period. For each case, average abnormal returns and cumulative average abnormal returns are calculated by using daily stock returns obtained from the KSRI-Stock database. We also analyse the relation between cumulative average abnormal returns and the change of overseas securities issuance restricts, issuing size, growth opportunity by cross sectional regression. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the announcement effect of overseas securities issuance is indistinct. Second, there are no particular differences of the announcement effect among overseas securities issuance firms. Third, issuing size is confirmed as a significant variable explaining cumulative average abnormal returns.

In the fierce competition among firms, there has been a close connection among service quality, customer perception, customer satisfaction. This study examined the influence of expectation, performance on expectation-disconfirmation in car after service. Additionally, this study explored connections between the expectation-disconfirmation and customer satisfaction. The results of this study show that the expectation and performance in car after service have a great influence on expectation disconfirmation degree. And also according to expectation disconfirmation degree, the level of customer satisfaction index is changed.

This Paper analyzed the impact of relationship marketing on marketing productivity in the mobile telephone industry. For this paper, we measure the service quality for the user of mobile phones based on the satisfaction of relationship marketing with questionnaire. For our research, the SERVEQUAL, modeled by Zaithaml et al.(1988), is used to find out the service failure, and the questionnaire developed by Crosby et al.(1980) and Morgan and Hunt(1994) is employed to check the customer satisfaction for relationship marketing. With this data, we analyse the impact of relationship satisfaction on negative customer behaviors, such as the blame, the customer exit and the Word of Mouth. For this analysis, AMOS 4.0 was used to check the cause-effect relationship among them. As a result, the quality of relationship marketing is negatively affected by the blame, the customer exit and the Word of Mouth. Therefore, relationship marketing plays a potentially significant role in increasing marketing productivity.

근로시간 단축이 고용, 생산성 및 단위노동비용에 미치는 효과에 대한 실증분석

The purpose of this study is to investigate the economic effects of a shorter working hours in Korea. In order to analyze the economic effects, this study uses the past data from 1985 to 1998 because the working hours decreased during the period. This study also introduces 4 equations: employment equation, productivity equation, wage equation for normal work, and wage equations for overtime. Then, those four equations are estimated by 2SLS. Based on the results, this study tries to predict the economic effects of a shorter working hours on some important economic variables such as employment, productivity, and wages. According to the empirical results, a shorter working hours increases the level of employment and wages. However, it decreases productivity for the group of entire workers. On the other hand, a shorter working hours increases the level of employment, wages, and productivity for the group of worker in a manufacturing sector. The same results are derived for the group of full-time workers.

Recently many quasi-governmental organizations have coexisted with governmental organizations. Special interests are placed on these organizations because these organizations execute public functions and are operated with taxes paid by the people. One of the ways to materialize the small but efficient government to increase the competitiveness of the government is to improve personnel management systems efficiently. The purpose of this study is to propose more efficient personnel management systems in the quasi-governmental organizations. This study finds out the following problems. 1. the lacking of systematic personnel management systems 2.the absence of personnel management organization for quasi-governmental organizations at the government level 3. the inadequacy of appropriate laws and regulations 4. the deficiency of job analyses for executive officers 5. the closed and cloudy selections for executive officers 6. the efficient management for the quasi-governmental organizations This study suggests the following proposals for improvement of personnel management of quasi-governmental organizations. 1. establishing systematic personnel management systems in the government level 2.appropriate proper personnel management systems according to their characteristics. 3. expanding human resources pool for executive officers 4. reform of related laws and regulations 5. performing job analyses for executive officers

Labor dispute became a national subject to be resolved right after the inauguration of President Noh, Moo-Hyon in 2003. A few cases including Doosan Heavy Industry and Korail showed strong unions' militancy in strikes while companies and the government seemed to be in a defensive position at collective bargaining table. This lead to the reconsideration of national competitiveness in global era. Many well-known reports on national competitiveness revealed that Korea's position is ranked lower because of current militant industrial relations system. With unchanging stubborn management approach to collective bargaining, increasing industrial unions, and changing industry structure, a new paradigm in industrial relations seem to be long way to reach. Moreover, the government's labor-friendly approach, large wage and working condition gaps among workers, and the lack of neutral labor specialist make more difficult to keep Korea's current national competitiveness. To retain the national competitiveness, the following ideas are suggestedthe government's approach with neutrality and less interference to collective bargaining process and systematic protection of contingent workers; companies' increasing effort to enhance the capability in collective bargaining; unions's role and responsibility in the community, and training and developing capable labor specialists.

Sales volume of sports games might be strongly habitual attendance oriented. Based on habitual tendency, we develop a dynamic life-cycle consumption model and apply it to Korean Professional Baseball(KPB) data. The empirical results suggest that there is weak habit-formation in the demand for attending KPB games unlike Major League Baseball games in USA. Optimal pricing should be based not only on the habitual factor to maximize game revenue, but also on the strategy to strengthen habitual formation for attending games. For example, a sports team maintains its price low enough to get more habitual attendance which will derive more future attendance. Various kinds of seasonal tickets might improve habitual formation as well.

The study analysed the influence of the Korean Export Insurance Fund System on the Korean Export Industry from the time of Korea Export Insurance Coporation(KEIC)'s establishment and sought for the measures for producttivity improvement. The research started from a basic model analyzing Korean Export Insurance Fund using added several variables that have an effect on export such as export relative price, world income and the amount of export insurance fund. As a result, the amount of export insurance fund, world income and export relative price showed expected responses of positive effect. Export insurance fund and amount of export insurance fund was shown statistically significant.
