The purpose of this study is to investigate the productivity differentials and wage gap based upon the size of a firm in Korea. This study uses the past data from 1997 to 2000. In order to estimate the productivity and wage differentials, this study introduces wage equations including human capital variables such as years of education and tenure variable. Then the wage gap can be divided into two part:explained and unexplained gap. According to the empirical results of the study, the wage increases as the size of a firm increases. Futhermore, when the wage gap increases, the portion of explained wage gap decreases.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the impacts of subordinate's performance levels at two points in time upon leader's performance rating, emotional response. For these purposes, an experiment was implemented based on 2x2 subject factorial design with manipulations of two independent variables:past performance level and present performance level. Subordinate's performance level was manipulated into high and low ones. Major findings were summarized as follows:1) Leader's performance ratings for a subordinate were influenced by both subordinate's present performance and past performance. In this research, both subordinate's present performance level and past performance level had a direct effect on leader's performance ratings. It was found that contrast effect occurs in performance appraisal process.2) Leader's emotional responses were also positively related to subordinate's present and past performance. Present and past performance had a direct effect on leader's affect, and they also had interaction effect. It was found that assimilation effect occurs in leader's emotional response.3) It was demonstrated that there was a discrepancy between cognitive response (performance appraisal) and emotional response. In conclusion, patterns in leader's performance appraisal process were recognized, and bias such as contrast effect was found to appear in the process. To eliminate such bias and to improve accuracy and objectivity in performance appraisal, some administrative practices are required.

And, to offer base manure enforcing our business competitive power by inducing them to adopt Quality Management. Quality management system is tested and authenticated using Crosby's Quality Management Maturity Grid. This study has been conducted using the data collected from 108 small and medium manufacturing companies located in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon.By analyses of the questionnaires, the following consequences are confirmed.First, the company which have the more employee, is more developed and closer to Quality Management stage(i.e. the most developed stage of Quality Management).Second the more advanced the company is in the Quality Management, the more positive influence can be made on the improvement of the operations performance, except cost-savings.Third, the higher level of the development stages of Quality Management has the more positive influence on the financial performance, except ratio of non-operating income to revenue.

This paper examines the productivity changes in software industry over the period 1997-2002 by Malmquist productivity indexes. The annual data set consists of 47 companies listed on the KOSDAQ and 56 companies audited by the CPA firm from 1997 to 2002. During 1997-2002, there was productivity growth for the software industry. We find that the productivity growth is higher than the companies listed on the KOSDAQ. The software industry's technological advances and scale efficiency contributed to the increase in the productivity growth by offsetting the decrease in pure technical efficiency.

While most of researchers studied on the value added performance of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) operation in the field of banking industry, not manufacturing industry, this study is on the performance of CRM operation of S´ Electronics Corporation, which produces electronics goods. Conceptually, the CRM of Manufacturing industry should be different from the one of banking industry. Manufacturers usually don't invest much in the CRM activities, because they have many difficulties in gathering the customer's real information. The fact leads us to study the CRM for the improvement of the Marketing Productivity in the manufacturing industry like S´ Electronics Corporation. In this study, the main focuses for manufacturers are about how to use a lot of customers' information for CRM operations. First, we divided the customer informations to the three different kinds of groups like the three independent variables RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary). And, selected the P (marketing Productivity) as the dependent variable. From the analysis, we could evaluate a lot of regression equations for every individuals, nearly more than 20 million customers' information in S´ Electronics corporation. CRM marketers can utilize the regression equations, by using computer system, which can lead to the improvement of Marketing Productivity. The improvement of the CRM activities in manufacturing industry was verified almost the same as the banking industry. And, we found the improved real performance of CRM Marketing Productivities in S´ Electronics corporation.

A videoconferencing English lecture system between elementary students in South Korea and EFL teachers in Australia is proposed in this paper to solve the extremely low productivity problem in English aquisition system in South Korea. It is surprising that, in a year, over five trillion won is spent abroad for the English aquisition, however, the TOEFL ranking of South Korea is 24th among 25 non-native speaking countries in OECD. There must be a very inefficient link in the system. In this paper, a specific framework for English aquisition system is constructed based on Krashen's Monitor model, analyzed in terms of those external and language environment factors and addressed for innovating the low productivity problem of the system. The proposed solution could have positive impact on saving private education expenses of parents as well as improve the time on task and the quality of instructional program for the students in South Korea.
