- This paper examines the productivity changes in software industry over the period 1997-2002 by Malmquist productivity indexes. The annual data set consists of 47 companies listed on the KOSDAQ and 56 companies audited by the CPA firm from 1997 to 2002. During 1997-2002, there was productivity growth for the software industry. We find that the productivity growth is higher than the companies listed on the KOSDAQ. The software industry's technological advances and scale efficiency contributed to the increase in the productivity growth by offsetting the decrease in pure technical efficiency.
