The purpose of this study is to analyze the present state of Japan exhibition and convention industry. For this purpose, this study analyzed as follows. Firstly, this study analyzed the outline of Japan exhibition industry, the outline of Japan exhibition facilities, main exhibition center such as Tokyo bigsight, Makuhari messe on the hardware side. Secondly, this study analyzed the number of exhibitions by city, the number of exhibitions by exhibition center, the number of exhibitions by industry, and the number of exhibitions by period on the software side. Thirdly, this study analyzed the government policy and strategy for exhibition industry in Japan compared with developed countries including the United States, Germany. Finally, after summarizing the overall content, this study presented the policy implications for upgrade of Korea exhibition industry

This study was undertaken to examine exhibition organizer's service failures and recovery focusing on exhibitions in Kazakhstan. Using the critical incident technique(CIT), data were collected from exhibitors of three exhibitions at Atakent Center in 2011, which resulted in 230 critical incidents. Results identified three types of the exhibition organizer's service failures such as service delivery system, service provider's service and service environment failures. Results also revealed three type of service recovery such as tangible response, intangible response and no response. Based on the results, implications for the exhibition industry of Kazakhstan were discussed.

Although the exhibition related tour program is getting important as a method for increasing the economic value of exhibition, there are few studies with this theme. The purpose of this study is to get effective operation strategies of exhibition related tour program. The survey was done with the participants on 'Buyers tour program of Korea Industry Fair 2011', the first exhibition related tour program in Korea. The results of this study are as follows: (1) Consider the tendency of overseas buyers as the main participants of the exhibition related tour program. (2) Consider the movement among tour spots with traffic conditions and had better use the closed destinations from the exhibition venue. (3) Develop unique and special tour programs can be experienced only at the exhibition. (4) Should promote the exhibition related tour program together with the exhibition organizer actively as inviting buyers. This study is valuable as the first empirical study about exhibition related tour program and provide the method for developing and operating effectively.

The purpose of this study is to define positioning strategy of exhibition and convention industry in Moscow, Russia. To archive the purpose, both literature review and empirical study were conducted. A self administrated survey was used to measure the importance of destination selection attributes and destination's performance or satisfaction on each of those attributes with specialists in exhibition and convention industry have visited Moscow for exhibition and convention matters. In this study, Importance-Performance Analysis and SWOT analysis, and descriptive statistics were used. The results show that exhibition and convention facilities, communication, sound and light equipments, accessibility were placed on 'Keep up the good work' area. Rent fees, management skills, promotion, service, hotel quality and room charge, safety were placed on 'Concentrate here' area.

This research aims at enhancing international competitiveness of Korean trade exhibition industry(TEI) through drawing the know-how of excellent operation of American TEI, one of the best advanced TE countries all over the world with Germany by comparing American TEI related law, institution, policy, and educational system etc. with Korean ones. We drawed the results that the know-how of American TEI which runs almost 1% of American GDP every year is owing to just extreamly practical and professtional educational system, excellent exhibition marketing power, abundant natural resources environment, and such a variety of entertainments as low lodging charges, low rent-a-car charges, and convenient internet services.

This research examines the issue of Trade Show Promotion Program of Small and Midium Business Administration as an export assistance of government and performance evaluation of Trade Show Promotion Program. The objective of this research is twofold: First, to identify the multi- dimensional attributes of Trade Fair Promotion programs of government; second, to develop measures of performance of government assistance program whereby results from participating in international trade fairs can be evaluated. Attributes of TSP program is reflected through multiple measures, such as selection of export effective ITF, the amount of supported money for ITF, booth design and booth position at international trade fairs, on-site management and post-show promotion supporting for the exhibitors. The object of this study is all the companies which enrolled the government support programs in 2006. Under the help of the Small and Medium Business Administration(SMBA), the survey was carried out from 4 to 12 October in 2007, 1,455 questionnaires were faxed to all the enrolling companies in 2006 and then 201 were received, 146 of which were valid for the study, resulting in a 10.0% response rate. Among the key findings are: a) the 4-dimensional attributes of TFP program of government are developed with institution factor, policy implementation factor, Performance factor and booth factor, b) from multiple regression analyses, it is found that the institution factor, implementation factor and performance factor have positive effect on the averall satisfaction of TFP program.
