This study tries to fulfill desires of people today who pursue individualities by applying the pattern of vines, a traditional Korean pattern, to shoe designs with the modern sense. Moreover, it aims to develop practical fashion shoe designs with the great artistic value, while the Korean image tries to approach to the world market as a familiar sense. To do this, by studying literature, I found out the origin, kinds, symbol, and formativeness of the pattern of vines and analyzed the changes of shoes by the current of the times and the formative characteristics. Based on this, I designed and made five pairs of shoes that can be practically produced. For the producing methods, I presented the pattern of lotus vines to the adornments in front, back and the instep of the shoes by producing three shapes using the metalwork techniques. The pattern on cloth was presented through a transfer printing method by applying the linked curvaceousness of the pattern of peony vines. Furthermore, I expressed the pattern of chrysanthemum vines brilliantly through embroidery and beads. First of all, the pattern of vines has advantages to make various expression methods because the pattern can easily be easy to be transformed without formality; therefore, it was possible to display various senses of beauty by applying it to shoe designs as effective decorative motives. Secondly, it was possible to develop familiar products in domestic and overseas market by applying our unique pattern of vines to modern shoes.

The purpose of this study is to search the tendency and to find the characteristics of anti-decoration of beauty design in Paris collection and to find the possibility to interpret the ones by the anti-aesthetics of Oriental with the characteristics of unbalance, irregularity, imperfection, asymmetry and so on. Anti-Decoration disregard the traditional composition and take some ugliness images and anti-aesthetics characteristics of in-harmony, asymmetry, imperfection, irregularity and so on. And ugliness is the most negative aesthetic value which is lack of beauty. For this study, about 1,000 works from 2001s/s to 2009f/w have been analyzed to figure out the anti-decoration and summarized as eclectic, natural, avant-garde, Poor tendency just like in fashion tendency. As well these tendencies are similar to the beauty of simplicity, poverty, incompletion, vagueness and humor classified at 'anti-decoration culture in contemporary Japanese fashion'. Haute couture is composed of Eclecticism(46%), Naturalism(23%), Avant-Garde(23%), Poverty(8%) and prêt-à-porter is composed of Naturalism(37%), Eclecticism(32%), Avant-Garde(18%), Poverty(13%) in the characteristics of anti-decoration of beauty design in Paris collection. And Eclecticism accounted for the greatest portion of make-up design and naturalism accounted for the greatest portion of hair design. Ultimately, the characteristics of aesthetics sense of anti-decoration according to the tendency have been analyzed into transcendence, artlessness, abnormality, deviation.

This study is designed to examine the color characteristic of Versace and show a new method of research in color analysis. Color trends and characteristics of color were analyzed for Versace's 14 collections, from 2000 S/S to 2006 F/W. Using the eyedropper tool in Photoshop(Ver.7.0) the main colors from the Versace Collection were picked and converted to color chips. The resulting RGB color codes were then converted into HV/C color codes by the Munsell Conversion System(Ver. 7.0.1). The results of this study are as follows. First, in Versace's collection, R group and P group were the most frequently used. This seems to be somewhat affected by both Versace’s preference for the red color, also by the early 2000s color trend. The proportion of R group is the highest in whole seasons. And the P group and the G group were high in S/S season, whereas Y group was high in F/W season. Second, in general color tones, Vivid & Strong of bright and strong color groups most often used. However, the proportion has decreased since 2005 and only few cases were shown in 2006 because of the affection of the 2006 color trend-black and Gray. Third, Versace’s color trends were analyzed with an understanding of the importance of color and with a consideration for Versace’s characteristics of color. The vivid colors that Gianni used represents his spirit of adventure and challenge and is helpful in planning today’s color of fashion design. Succession of his original intention will affect the progression of the fashion industry.

This study attempted to design knit-wear, using paintings of plants as motifs, re-configuring them to fit the description of beauty of middle‐aged women. Research was divided into literature research and simulation of life‐size production using SDS-ONE, design software for knitting. The result of this study was as follow. First, visual evaluations conducted of knit design samples by an expert group that consists of five people majoring in clothes using template mapping and mesh mapping techniques of SDS-ONE, knit design tool invented by Shima Seiki, show the same results as the ones filmed in real clothes. That made trying for diverse designs possible using CAD, reducing loss of time and money invested in producing real-life samples. Second, usage of Korean paintings focusing on those of plants as contemporary fashion items has become a meaningful attempt to include one field of art in fashion, as well as to meet the needs of consumers. Third, the research suggests possibilities for design development of diverse contemporary clothes integrating Korea's unique paintings with knit-wear equipped with convenience and practicality. The research made an attempt to combine arts with fashion, capitalizing on the beauty of Korean paintings in knit-wear design in order to run up against developed countries equipped with design competitiveness and underdeveloped countries offering competitive prices.

This is a series of study about the deformed body of elderly women. The first study had come up with a set of criteria for assessing the deformation of lateral body by computing the sum and the difference of the thickness of the front and back in five body parts, the angle of the knee. And the 39 subjects who had body deformation were chosen among 220 elderly women who were over 60 years of age and distributed across the country. The purpose of this study was to classify the body type of 39 subjects who have deformed body according to their distinctive body deformation and to analyze each body characteristics. Based on the deformation criteria and an observation of the lateral photographs of 39 subjects, they have been classified in accordance with the distinctive deformation. There were eight deformed body types, and they included 'bent knee', 'bent knee and bent back', 'bent knee and curved body', 'bent knee and bent waist', 'bent back', 'curved body', 'bent waist', and 'lateral obese' types. The characteristics of each deformed body type were analyzed comparing body measurements. The comparison and analysis of the size and height proportion of the deformed body type to a comparable lateral normal body type that had little deformation has been done in order to find out the body characteristics that is necessary for designing the pattern for the deformed body type and for manufacturing clothing. It was verified that there appeared a clear difference between the deformed and normal body type in terms of size, shape, posture, and height proportion. If the posture characteristics and height proportion for each deformed body type as suggested in this study are reflected in the pattern design and clothing manufacturing, then a great enhancement could be observed in how clothing will look on elderly women.

This study has the purpose to prepare for the theoretical basis required for practical business affairs of planning and ultimate significance to suggest color data for efficient utilization when the future fashion color trends are forecast and suggested by comparing and analyzing the fashion color trends of the domestic fashion planners for 6 seasons, 3 years and understanding the flow and characteristics of its changes. For this, domestic fashion information planners were surveyed, compared and analyzed. The color data of fashion color trends utilized the data of Samsung Designnet(233colors)and Interfashion Planning(240colors), domestically well-known fashion information planners which can swiftly supply new data to analyze total 473colors for the recent 3years from S/S in 2007 to F/W in 2009. Color analysis used the Natural Color System to analyze it as colors and tones.As a result of this study, first the color distribution of the Samsung Designnet's S/S season was shown comparatively regular except BG series. F/W season showed a high distribution in RB series. Regarding the color distribution of Interfashion Planning's S/S season, a high distribution was shown in GY and RB series. As for F/W season's colors, B and R series were high in distribution. Second, when S/S season and F/W season are compared and analyzed by series colors, Y series showed the highest in S/S season and R series did in F/W season. Third, based on the general analysis results the color trends of S/S season and F/W season in 2010 according to appearance frequency were suggested with a color pallet composed of total 24 colors after 12 representative colors by season were extracted.
