The purpose of this study is to develop the happenstance scale for measuring accidental events experienced during career choice process for university students and to explore the career - related behaviors by happenstance factors. For the purpose, A total of 1,563 university students responded the survey packet. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, the construct of career choice happenstance comes to consist of 4 factors(individual/around situation, information discovery, system change, others influence). Second, as a result of examining the relationship between the career choice happenstance and the career - related variables, the individual/around situation was negatively correlated with career - related variables. However, the information discovery and others influence showed a significant positive correlation with all sub - factors of career - related variables, but the system change did not show a statistically correlation. Therefore, it is confirmed that there is a certain pattern between career choice happenstance and career - related variables. Implication including the utility of the scale and limitation of the study were discussed with some suggestions for the future researches and practices.

The following conclusions can be inferred when analyzing from the point of design guidelines, design competition, working design for the construction of youth facilities as public buildings Since the design guidelines are used as basic data in the design competition, area tables for each facility should be calculated according to the usage pattern and the number of users. In particular, the common area ratio should be accurately presented in the range of 20-30%. It also clarifies the purpose of the design competition so that the designer's design concept can be well reflected and minimizes the limiting factors that interfere with the design so that the proposal can be as open as possible. Since the purpose of the design competition is to win the competition, the design tends to be excessive. In particular, the use of excessive common area or excessive decorative elements is largely reduced during working design process, so proper common area for public sector and understated elevation design elements must be achieved. The working design is the stage of changing the winning design to meet the needs of users within the budget of the construction cost. Particularly important is to ensure that the design concept of the design competition, is maintained, so it is important to consult with the design experts for the youth facilities that participated in the competition.
