As the COVID-19 pandemic drags on, college students experience frustration due to the shortage of employment opportunities during the economic downturn and feel depression or even hopelessness because of anxiety about their major and career potential and their limited control over them. Against the backdrop, this study verified the effect of a non-contact horticultural therapy program that includes growing plants to reduce COVID-19-triggered hopelessness depression in college students. For this, a horticultural therapy program was provided to 153 college students for four weeks. A paired sample t-test was performed to investigate the effect of the program. The main findings of the study are as follows: the horticultural therapy participants showed a significant decrease in hopelessness depression. This study has significance in presenting practical implications by applying a horticultural therapy program to reduce hopelessness depression in college students during the prolonged COVID-19 crisis.

This study investigated the developmental trajectories of attachment trauma of early adolescents at Community Child Centers to their parents and examined the effect of individual differences in the degree of initial trauma and the change rate of trauma on depression. To this end, this study used a sample of early adolescents at Community Child Centers from the second Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey data(2014~2018) collected by National Youth Policy Institute (NYPI). The analysis results using the Latent Growth Model (LGM) are as follows. First, the average level of attachment trauma in early adolescents decreased over time. The individual differences in the initial level of and the change rate of attachment trauma were statistically significant. Second, the initial attachment trauma in early adolescents significantly predicted their depression. Third, the change rate of trauma significantly predicted depression of 13-year-olds and indirectly predicted depression of 14-year-olds.

This study aimed to examine the effects of parent-adolescent positive communication and academic self-efficacy on adolescents’ motivation of learning. The subjects were 219(83 male, 136 female) students in the 1-3th grade of two middle schools in S City. The data were analyzed using SPSSWIN 23.0 program. The results were as follows: First, mother-adolescent positive communication, father-adolescent positive communication, and academic self-efficacy were positively correlated with motivation of learning. Second, regression analyses showed that father-adolescent positive communication had significant effect on motivation of learning, whereas mother -adolescent positive communication had not. Third, academic self-efficacy had statistically significant effect on motivation of learning. Fourth, stepwise multiple regression analysis results showed that academic self-efficacy, father-adolescent positive communication had a significantly contribution to motivation of learning in order. Finally, the study’s limits and further discussion were suggested.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relations among usage of slang, aggression and self-control, to examine the mediating effects of self-control. For the purpose of this study, the subjects was consist of adolescents in the region of K city. The final 780 questionnaires were used as research data. The data analysis used correlation analysis, mediating effect through of regression analysis. The results showed usage of slang, aggression and self-control were significantly correlated, usage of slang had a direct effect on aggression. In addition, the result is analyzed in each gender. The total adolescents’ self control had partially mediating effects between usage of slang and aggression. Otherwise, female adolescents’ usage of slang had not a significantly effect on aggression. As a result in order to decrease the level of adolescents’ aggression and usage of slang, institutional intervention is required for healthy play activities and social improvement program. Finally, this study ends up with the implications of the study results, limitations and future research directions.

The effectiveness of the group art therapy program to improve the resilience for university students in the COVID-19 situation was verified. For this purpose, 31 college students were assigned 17 to the experimental group and 16 to the control group, and the experimental group conducted a group art therapy program contact and non-contact for 5 weeks. For statistical analysis to verify the effectiveness of the program, independent sample t-test and covariate analysis were performed using SPSS 21. The main results are as follows. First, the resilience score of university students who participated in the group art therapy program was significantly improved compared to the control group. Second, the group cohesion score of university students who participated in the group art therapy program showed a significant improvement in the post-test score compared to the pre-test. Third, the difference according to the contact and non-contact participation methods was not significant. It was confirmed that both contact and non-contact methods had a significant effect on improving group cohesion. Using the results of this study in the context of the prolonged COVID-19, university counseling institutions are expected to be able to support university students with effective programs in contact and non-contact methods by using group art therapy as a non-curricular program.

The purpose of this study is to find the need for practical interventions to improve female adolescents' body image distortion and prevent smartphone dependence by examining the effect of female adolescents' body image distortion on smartphone dependence and the mediating effect of anxiety. For this purpose, data from middle and high school girls were used of the 16th(2020) Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey, and the mediating effect was verified according to the three steps suggested by Baron and Kenny(1986). The research results are as follows. First, as a result of investigating the degree of body image distortion among female adolescents, it was found that 27.9% of female students had body image distortion. Second, it was found that the body image distortion of female adolescents had a significant positive effect on smartphone dependence. Third, it was found that anxiety had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between body image distortion and smartphone dependence. Based on these research results, the practical and policy implications and improvement methods were proposed in consideration of the relationship between female adolescents' body image distortion and smartphone dependence.

As industrialization progresses and environmental pollution problems increase, the incidence of environmental diseases such as atopic diseases is increasing, and this problem is becoming more serious. This environmental disease, which is most vulnerable in infancy and adolescence, can be prevented through lifestyle improvement and early education, so the education needs to be strengthened. Ironically, most of the educational programs to prevent environmental diseases in Korea are in suburban areas with poor accessibility, making it especially difficult for infants and toddlers to access. It is ideal for teenagers to visit suburban facilities to receive education to prevent environmental diseases, but it is difficult for domestic teenagers to visit facilities due to lifestyle and academic problems. The proportion of youth training centers in Korea has been increasing since 2008, but the utilization rate is quite low, with 52.4% of all adolescents having never encountered youth training centers. It is expected that environmental disease prevention education will be introduced as a youth living area by utilizing spaces with low utilization rates to prevent environmental diseases and increase the utilization rate of youth training centers.

Data were collected by using questionnaires and analyzed using the SPSSWIN 27.0 and SPSS Macro 3.5 program. The results were as follows: First, adolescents’ cyberbullying victimization was positively correlated to depression and aggression, while negatively correlated to school adjustment. Depression was positively correlated to aggression, and negatively correlated to school adjustment. Second, depression had partial mediating effects between adolescents’ cyberbullying victimization and school adjustment. Third, aggression had partial mediating effects between adolescents’ cyberbullying victimization and school adjustment. Fourth, depression and aggression had the sequential mediating effects on the relationships between adolescents’ cyberbullying victimization and school adjustment.
