This study is to investigate the mediated effect of child’s emotional regulation with respect to effect of child's perceived mother's negative emotional expressiveness and psychological control on the child’s depression level. The subjects were a total of 491 students attending 5th and 6th grade students of elementary schools located In Incheon metropolitan city and Kyonggi province. The results of this study are as follows: All correlation between variables is a significant relationship, respectively. First, there was positive correlation between mothers' negative emotional expressiveness, and their children's depression. Also there was positive correlation between mothers' psychological control and their children's depression but negative correlation between mothers' negative emotional expressiveness and their children's emotional regulation. The results of SEM test showed mediating effects of emotional regulation ability on the relation between perceived mother's negative emotional expressiveness and psychological control on the child’s depression level. The implication for future studies and counseling practice were discussed based on the results of the present study. Finally, the study's limits and further discussion were suggested.

The purpose of this study was to examine moderating effects of adolescents’ self-control and maladaptive emotion regulation in the relationship between maternal psychological control and adolescents' reactive and proactive aggression. The participants of this study were 458 students of two middle schools in Daegu. The results of this study showed that maternal psychological control, self-control and maladaptive emotion regulation were significant predictors of reactive and proactive aggression among adolescents. Moreover, maladaptive emotion regulation played a moderating role in the relationship between maternal psychological control and reactive aggression. On the contrary, we found no moderating effects of self-control and maladaptive emotion regulation in the relationship between maternal psychological control and proactive aggression. The implication of research and practice are discussed.

대학생의 취업스트레스 및 문제음주가 자살생각에 미치는 영향 - 회복탄력성의 조절효과

The purposes of this study were to find the general trends and correlation of job preparing stress, problem drinking, resilience and suicide ideation, and to explore the moderating effect of resilience between job preparing stress, problem drinking, and suicide ideation. The participants of the survey were 230 university students. The data were analyzed with frequency, Pearson's correlation and moderated multiple regression by PASW 18.0. The major findings were as follows; job preparing stress and resilience were higher than the median. But problem drinking and suicide ideation were lower than the median. University students' sex were significantly different with problem drinking and resilience and SES was significantly different with resilience. Job preparing stress and problem drinking were negatively correlated with resilience and positively correlated with suicide ideation. Resilience was negatively correlated with suicide ideation. Finally moderated multiple regression was used for effect of university students' resilience. In model 1, suicidal ideation was influenced by sex and explained about 5%. In model 2, suicidal ideation was influenced by job preparing stress, problem drinking and resilience, and explained about 16%. In model 3, suicidal ideation was influenced by job preparing stress, problem drinking, resilience and interaction variables, and explained about 23%. Resilience moderated the effects of job preparing stress, problem drinking and suicide ideation. Job preparing stress and problem drinking influenced resilience negatively but positively suicide ideation. Resilience influenced negatively suicide ideation. In conclusion, it is important to intervene university students' suicide ideation through special education program and counseling in order to build resilience.

This study is the recognition of human rights violations, and the level of empowerment, multicultural sensibility, and what the relationship between the three variables of this study, in relation to violations of human rights awareness and empowerment of multicultural sensibility Learn representing the mediating effect. Purposive sampling from May 1, 2012 - May 22, as a self-administered survey method was conducted. 107 social workers, and youth workers 104, the results of analyzing the general adult survey 160 people to 371 people. recognition of human rights violations, the general adult higher than social workers. Multicultural Youth worker highest susceptibility showed the highest level of general adult and empowerment. And violations of human rights awareness, empowerment, multicultural sensibility static direction statistically significant correlation. Empowerment in the violation of human rights recognize the multicultural sensibility parameters are statistically significant partial mediation effect represents were found. Based on the results of these studies build an infrastructure that can foster the expansion of human rights education, social workers and youth workers. Target recovery branch or level of cultivation, political and social empowerment of Youth Instructor law institutional level of intervention, multicultural sensibility and expansion multicultural sensibility in customized training programs, and to improve public relations strategy, establishing public education system as well as the early and systematic human rights education provides the opportunity to learn outside of school, such as has been proposed.

국공립청소년시설 확충을 위한 민간투자사업 방안 연구

The purpose of this study are to introduce private finance initiative(PFI) method which has been developed in Japan for the remodelling of youth facilities and to adjust this method to national and/or public youth facility construction and remodelling projects in Korea. For this purpose, the construction methods of PFI(Private Finance Initiative), BTL(Build-Transfer-Lease), BTO(Build - Transfer - Operate) are compared and alnalyzed. And also, the case studies of Japan and Korea youth facilities constructed by those methods have been analized and compared throughly. Among them are Tokyo Youth bend-Plaza, Tokushima Youth Plaza and Tokyo Tama Area Youth Plaza and in Korea, National Youngduk Youth Marine Environment Experience Center and National Kimje Agriculture and Life Center. Not only construction work but new youth programs and the management of operating facility are very important factors to maintain and to be used by many youth and children. Therefore this study investigated also in the way of private investment projects for national and public youth facilities how to organize and develop the youth activity programmes. The conclusion of this study encouraged highly to utilize PFI method on the construction and remodelling projects for the futuer youth facility.

인문계 고등학생의 입시스트레스와 자살생각과의 관계 - 우울에 따른 매개효과

The purpose of this study is to examine how university examination stress felt by academic high school students influence on suicidal thoughts and to find out the mediate effect of depression is made on university examination stress and suicidal thoughts. The subject of this study is 205 students(1st and 2nd graders) in two high schools in Seoul and the survey was conducted with them to measure university examination stress scale, depression scale and suicidal thoughts scale through the questionnaire. For this study, such collected data was analyzed through t-test, Parametric Correlation Analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling. The results are as follows: First, for the difference in university examination stress in terms of sociodemographic characteristics, students felt less university examination stress when they were in good health, educated less private education and higher school satisfaction. For the difference in suicidal thoughts, they had less frequent suicidal thoughts when they were in lower graders and had higher school scores. For the difference in depression, students had less depression when they were in lower graders, had more number of trusted friends, and felt more satisfied with their school life. There was no significant difference found in terms of other factors. Second, it was found that all variables between university examination stress, depression and suicidal thoughts of academic high school students had significant correlated relation. Third, it was shown that depression played the complete mediate role in the effect of university examination stress of academic high school students on their suicidal thoughts. Fourth, it was found there is no difference in mediate effect between university examination stress and suicidal thoughts of academic high school students according to the depression levels(high, middle and bottom).

청소년활동이 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향 - 공동체의식 매개효과 검증

The objectives of this study were to investigate the effects of youth activities on school life adjustment and verify the mediating effects of a sense of community. This study used the data of Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KYPS) for repeated follow-up surveys for seven and a half years between 2010 (7th graders) and 2016 (first year university students) by National Youth Policy Institute. The data on 8th graders of the second year in 2010 were used. The results can be summarized as follows: First, it was showed that the youth activities had a statistically significant effect on the school life adjustment. Second, it showed that the youth activities had a statistically significant effect on a sense of community. Third, it showed that a sense of community had a statistically significant effect on the school life adjustment. Fourth, it was showed that the mediating effects of a sense of community were verified in the path of school life adjustment.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of swearing habit between swearing and bullying in early adolescence. 416 students in 5th grade of elementary and 1st grade of middle school in Busan, South Korea participated in this study. For data analysis, Cronbach 𝞪, frequency, t-test, and multiple regression analysis were used. Results show that first, boy's swearing habit was higher score than girls and 7th grade students' swearing and swearing habit was higher score than 5th grade students. Second, swearing and swearing habit was positively correlated to relational and overt bullying. Third, mediating effect of swearing habit between swearing and relational and overt bullying was significant. The importance of guidance of swearing was implicated to preserve the relational and overt bullying. Limitations are discussed.

The number of abolished schools is continuously increasing since the number of children in school ages has decreased for recent years. On the other side, parent‘s demand on preschool education is growing in quality as well as quantity. Conversion from under-used school spaces to primary school-affiliated kindergartens is considered as an affordable way for providing additional preschool environment. But this perspective brings significant concern for the appropriate education environment quality to students and their parents. The change of visual perception also should be investigated for the functional conversion. The purpose of this study is to suggest an analysis method for clarifying the changes of visual conditions and cognitive quality, caused by functional conversion from elementary schools to kindergartens. The developed method included static behavioral aspects and dynamic ones in visual cognition as variables. Finally this study proposed an analysis method determining Visual Elevation Perception Ratio.

The role and importance of Public libraries expanded with the growing cultural needs of local residents. Unfortunately, support from national policies and institutions are still inadequate in order to fulfill its duty as public library. Therefore, this study is to find out how Korean policy of Public library has changed and current direction of library policies. In order to provide various resource and service to local residents, changes in existing management is demanded and building up of collaboration system of local library is needed. Also, to obtain a satisfactory library service, the availability of resources from libraries outside the vicinity must be utilized accordingly when using nearby public library. And to do so, the materials and human resources and its various services must be shared through local collaboration network. A new library collaboration system must be introduced emphasizing the significance of each role in management and its space composition to attain its sole purpose of being an efficient Public Library.

This study is for a small sized library to expand function of the public library in the community. This study aims to encourage local residents using information and utilizing public library by opening parted facility of existing school to public and naming it substitute of public library. It is expected to contribute to richer welfare system. In detail, it is discussed progression of the small sized library as well as budgeting and hiring experienced staff in Committee on Library and Policy. However, there would have been the limitation of capability because school library is different from public library in targeted users, space element, and unit plan. Therefore, this study investigates a small sized library as a function to find out type, plan, and space availability and size of ideal open school library.

The study is about plan of space design of local career education support center. Accordingly, theories on the Career Education Promotion Act(bill), space for career education support and creative experience activities were studied and based on them, characteristics of creative experience activities were analyzed. Contents from studying theories were applied to direction and concept of architecture plan of local career education support center, suggestions for direction of plan for arranging space and for plans for plane space design by floor. The summary of the results of the study are as follows: In architecture planning, it requires plan of space of education to support career education program and to empower future career choice for direction of building a local career education support center. And it should pursue an architecture rooted as symbolic education and culture facility and a landmark for the area. Space design of plan suggested in the study consists of four areas of entry, management, outside experience and rest and service. The building of local career education support center will be center of the land and centering around it, each area will be arranged and interlink between each facility is pursued. Plane space design satisfies functional requirement as experience facility with reasonable module and span planning. And dynamic spaces of education, experience and conventional facilities and static space of dormitory are clearly distinguished. As management area and user area are also clearly divided, efficiencies from both management and sightseeing will be maximized. A Courtyard as buffed space with voided center will provide communicative circumstances for various programs by floor and it is planned for natural path of flow for users. And the top window is planned for natural lighting system and ventilation.

Interactional Environmental Contexts and Negative Feedback for Young Learners in English Classrooms

It has been acknowledged that learning environment plays a crucial role in second language (L2) learning. Thus far, however, little attention has been drawn to the environmental contexts (i.e., classrooms) – where L2 learners learn an L2. For this reason, the present study investigated the environmental contexts where middle-school students interacted with a native English-speaking teacher. Particular attention was given to three aspects of learning: the types of interactional contexts wherein students interacted with the teacher; the teacher’s responses to students’ non-targetlik utterances (i.e., negative feedback) across different interactional contexts; and students' reponses to the teacher‘s negative feedback. The study found that (a) students were exposed to various types of interactional contexts such as content, management, communication, and explicit language-focused exchanges, (b) the teacher responded to students’ erroneous utterances differently according to the interactional contexts, and (c) the uptake opportunities given to students and their use of the opportunities varied according to the contexts. The present study underlines the importance of the role of interactional contexts in L2 learning.

The Significance of Heritage Language and Cultural Identity on Academic Achievement of Korean-American Students

This study examined the relationship between the level of interest in maintaining heritage language/culture education and academic achievements of some 1.5 and 2nd generation Korean American high school students in Eugene, Springfield, Beaverton, and Portland, Oregon. Previous literature suggests that ethnic culture/heritage language acquisition and academic achievements are related. Through self-completion questionnaires, quantitative surveys, this study attempted to answer the following main research question: Is there a relationship in the sample group between exposure to Korean language/cultural education and academic achievement for 1.5 and 2nd generation Korean American students? The analysis of the survey data from this study revealed several ways in which ethnic identity and heritage language/culture influenced academic achievement for the Korean American students. The findings of this study could inform on aspects of multilingual and cultural education policies for school systems, providing some suggestions for vitalizing foreign language and culture education and expanding language immersion programs.

"Recognizing Characteristics of and Developing Effective Teaching Strategies for Gifted and Talented Students Based on a Case Study" 000-000. Researchers have studied the characteristics of gifted and talented children. These characteristics are divided based on two aspects: intellective characteristics and non-intellective characteristics. Most research has not focused on non-intellective characteristics but on the intellective characteristics. Currently, when gifted children face unique challenges in their learning, teachers are expected to meet those challenges by employing effective strategies. The purpose of this paper is to shed light on the importance of not only intellective characteristics but also non-intellective characteristics and to suggest effective teaching strategies for Gifted and Talented children. To achieve this, a case study of ten students in U.S. Gifted and Talented classes are examined, and based on the case studies and the previous study of Betts & Neihart (1988), three categories are suggested for further identify gifted and talented students, based on both the intellective and non-intellective characteristics : The Successful, the Challenging, and the Underground. Further, nine ways are suggested to better educate gifted children by incorporating teaching strategies to meet their unique needs based on the previous studies of researchers and the survey comments of GATE teachers: Compacting the Curriculum, Supplying Extra Pre-Planned Activities, Developing In-Depth Activities, Providing Positive Reinforcement, Stimulating Awareness through Written Clues, Enhancing the Curriculum with Creativity, Encouraging Students by Giving Immediate Feedback, Incorporating Kinesthetic Activities, and Finding Mentors.
