This empirical research examined the effects of organizational service orientations on business performance since the service orientations had been considered very importantly for delivering excellent service quality in many studies. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among service orientations, customer orientations, employees' job satisfactions and business performance in medical service organizations. A model and hypotheses on the basis of this model were developed. And data from employees in medical service organizations were collected using questionnaires. Respondents were asked to related variables of their organizations. A total of 217 questionnaires collected were used to test hypotheses. The results obtained were as follows; first, service orientation factors had a positive significant effect on customer orientations, employees' job satisfactions and business performances. Second, employees' job satisfaction had a positive significant effect on their customer orientations. Third, customer orientations and employees' job satisfactions had a positive significant effect on business performances. Thus, it is advisable for managers or operators to emphasize service orientations in medical service organizations. This study is specific to ambulatory service in a medical service organizations, so generalizing the results to other area may not be possible. Although this study may help to guide the roles of service orientations, customer orientations, employee satisfactions and business performances in medical service organizations, future studies should consider other relative variables.

We draw on well-established thinking in the complementary fields of organization theory and strategic management to develop a model explaining why fit among a firm's competitive strategy, its structure, and its technology is a prerequisite for superior performance. The contributions of this theoretical treatise are twofold. Firstly, it helps reduce the disconnect in thinking that exists between the strategy and organization-theory literatures on business-level issues. Secondly, it reveals the importance of managing the coalignment among strategy, structure, and technology which, in turn, forces recognition that competitive advantage does not exist in a static state but in a dynamic condition.

From intuitional viewpoint many researchers have been considering that information technology investment serves to increase the productivity and the profitability of firm. But the empirical studies that have examined the relationship between information technology investment and firm performance have reported mixed findings. In spite of that, recently there has been growing recognition of the importance of assessing information technology investment in determining future performance of firms. This study examines the relationship between investment in information technology and performance of securities companies in Korea. I use Tobin's Q, a financial market-based measure of firm performance and investigates the pure effect of information technology investment on firm performance after controlling for a variety of firm specific variables which may affect on firm performance. This study finds that information technology investment have a significantly positive association with Tobin's Q. This result implicates that information technology investment contributes to a firm's future performance potential.

We examine whether spinoffs improve long-run stock returns and analyze the factors of long run stock returns. The measures of long run stock returns are CAR(Cumulative Abnormal Returns) and BHAR(Buy and Hold Abnormal Returns). The expected factors of abnormal returns are methods of spinoffs, size, BV/MV, administrative costs, cashflow and Herfindahl index. We find that long-run returns of the case such as carve-out methods, small size, high BV/MV, low administrative costs, low cashflow and low Herfindahl index are larger than those of other cases. We show positive relationship between spinoffs and long-run stock returns(CAR and BHAR). The results supports spinoffs, as the methods of focusing on core business, are very usefulness of corporate restructuring.

Much attention has been devoted recently to the concept of brand equity. The Definition of brand equity is the added value with which a brand endows a product. From a consumer's perspective, this added value can be viewed in terms of enhancing a consumer's ability to interpret and store large amounts of information about a product. Online, several different approaches are also need to enhance brand equity of website. Noteworthy, significant research has not been conducted on the effectiveness of experiences in websites. As such, several researchers are discussing mainly as strategic alternatives that websites can use to build brand equity. This article explores the roles of many online brand experience variable like attention, arousal, telepresence, and flow on brand equity factors. And findings show that these kinds of experiences variable can be major factors that lead the better brand association, strong brand loyalty and brand equity.

The purpose of this paper is to propose alternatives to help for the aged to implement start business as a method to recreate the aged population for their second life. There are three considerations that supports start business for the elderly. The first is to reinforce educational support system for the aged. Through the lifelong education, the aged require easy start business' information. This is not only goverment's job, a local autonomous entity is to support in the form of organic organization. The second is the maintenance of financial support system. Besides start business education, various financial support system must serve for the aged to challenge their start business enthusiastically. The last consideration is formation of start business network that joins the aged efficiently. Based on these aspects, the application for increasing elderly human resource is to consider both employment program of the aged and also start business program for them.

Previous research on negative contents of verbal message being more influential has a two broad streams as impression formation theory and negative information having an more diagnostic informational value. Therefore, this research was intended to obtain consistent results from researches by message frame segmentation of verbal message and to determine the medium of verbal message. It was proven from the research that objects influencing verbal message are being effected by the participation ratio of products and the positive indication is having more meaningful difference than the negative indication statistically unlike to the results of previous researches. Unlike just a biased positive message or negative message as the result of previous research, it was proven that the positive indication is influential regardless of sequences according to participation ratio and site participation in case of positive and negative being existing together.

This thesis examines whether accounting information-earnings and book values-has the value relevance in the KOSDAQ. The study is motivated by previous studies which have examined the value relevance of accounting information. Prior researches have focused on KSE(Korea Stock Exchange). But, prior researches have not examined the value relevance of accounting information in KOSDAQ. So, this study examined the value relevance of accounting information which is disclosed by firms on KOSDAQ and whether accounting information between firms on KOSDAQ and KSE has the discriminative value relevance, underlying the expectation that KOSDAQ firms will have higher future profitability than KSE firms. In other words, book-value multiples of KOSDAQ firms is higher than book-value multiples of KSE firms and earnings multiples of KOSDAQ firms is lower than earnings multiples of KSE firms. The value relevance of accounting information is examined by a valuation framework presented by Ohlson(1995), which expresses the stock-price as a function of both earnings and book values of equity. The results indicate that accounting information of KOSDAQ has significant explanatory power for stock price over the 2005-2007 period. KOSDAQ firm are divided by Venture firms and Small to Mid size firms. KOSDAQ Venture firms have the discriminative value relevance, compared with KSE firms. But, KOSDAQ Small to Mid size firms have not the discriminative value relevance, compared with KSE firms.

Today, businesses are under rapidly changing environments that are characterized as stopless competition and uncertainty. Under this circumstance, workers are exposed to much stress that is induced by factors such as lots of job burden, responsibility, role conflicts, role ambiguity, interpersonal conflicts, pressure related to job performance and lots of job-related requests. Unlike workers of other industries, those of distribution business may be more exposed to stress because they serve in unique work conditions. Therefore, distribution workers have an accumulate fatigue of their own, suffering from health problems that are stress-induced. Distribution businesses should positively try to identify factors that fall their workers into stress, making those workers less stressful and preventing their negative job performance. Efforts to reduce workers' stress can not only improve their physical and mental health, but also raise business competitiveness. Thus the purpose of this study is to investigate how much distribution workers' job role, interpersonal relations and job environment are influential to their job stress and thereon determine relations between job stress and job performance.

A new research paradigm is emerging within organizational behavior, in both theory and empiricism, based on the increasing recognition of the importance of emotions to organizational life. This paper suggest that emotion intelligence play a moderate variables in relationship of emotion labor and emotional exhaustion. More specifically, it is proposed that emotional intelligence, the ability to understand and manage emotions in the employee self and others, contribute to effective emotions management in organizations. Four major aspects of emotion labor, appraisal and expression of emotion in oneself, appraisal and recognition of emotion in others, regulation of emotion in oneself and use of emotion to facilitate performance, are described. Also, the emotional intelligence are consists of four aspects, frequency of appropriate emotional display, attentiveness to required displayed rules, variety of emotions to be displayed and emotional dissonance. Then I propose how emotional intelligence contributes to of relations the emotion labor and emotional exhaustion. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of emotion labor to employee's emotional exhaustion to explore the moderating effects of the emotional intelligence between the emotion labor and emotional exhaustion. To complete the research the data were collected through a questionnaire from 147 employees from service company. After multi-hierarchical regression analysis, the outcomes of this study are the employee's emotional exhaustion are affected negatively by the three factors: major aspects of emotion labor, regulation of emotion in oneself, use of emotion to facilitate performance, make the moderation effect between emotion labor and emotional intelligence. These results indicate that instilling in others an appreciation of the importance of work activities: encouraging of true expression individual emotions, generating and maintaining well emotional climate and cooperation situations, and managing a meaningful environment for an organizational life.
