The problem of decision-making has been widely explored across various fields, including management, economics, and industry. Previous research has focused on enhancing the precision and generalizability of decision-making models for practical applications, and numerous approaches have been proposed to measure and improve decision-making processes. This study investigates the behavior of swing voters by analyzing those who supported different parties in the April 2024 general election. Specifically, it focuses on identifying the critical points at which voters make decisions and select candidates. By examining how voting behavior shifts within a short time frame, this study seeks to provide valuable insights into the factors influencing voter decisions. Understanding swing voters—who play a pivotal role in determining election outcomes in periods of political polarization—has significant implications for enhancing the democratic accountability and responsiveness of political parties in elections.

This study analyzes the spatial distribution of residential fire incidents in Busan Metropolitan City, focusing on key factors influencing fire risk. Using data from 2020 to 2022, the study examines the frequency and location of fires, considering demographic and housing characteristics such as the proportion of single-person households, housing size, housing type, and building age. Spatial analysis reveals significant clustering of fire incidents, with higher risk observed in areas with more single-person households, smaller houses, multi-family dwellings, detached houses, and older buildings. Surprisingly, apartments, despite accounting for many incidents, showed no significant correlation with fire risk. These findings suggest the need for targeted fire prevention strategies tailored to different housing types and vulnerable populations. Future research should explore the effectiveness of current fire safety measures in high-risk areas.

Overweight and obesity among adolescents are increasing worldwide, with factors potentially differing by sex. We aimed to identify sex-related differences in the prevalence of overweight and obesity among Korean adolescents and the sex-specific factors associated with obesity. We analyzed secondary data of 12~18-year-old adolescents who participated in the seventh Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2016~2018). Using complex sample analysis, multiple logistic regression was performed to investigate the sex-specific factors associated with adolescent overweight and obesity. The prevalence of overweight and obesity was higher among male adolescents (51.8%) than among female adolescents (48.2%). Self-rated health status and body shape, efforts to control weight, and sleep on weekdays were significantly associated with overweight and obesity among male adolescents. Self-rated health status and body shape, efforts to control weight, sitting time, food intake, energy intake, and water intake showed significant relationships with overweight and obesity among female adolescents. The results of this study provide preliminary evidence for developing effective strategies to prevent obesity among Korean adolescents. Sex-specific factors influencing obesity should be considered when administering interventions.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between consumption of high-caffeine drink and experience of sadness and despair among high school students. Methods: This study was a secondary data analysis and used Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (2022). The respondents of this study were 23,835 person. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS 25 ver. for chi-square and complex sample logistic regression analysis. Results: Consumption of high-caffeine drink has statistically significant differences in household income, cohabitation type, academic achievement, physical activity, experience of sadness & despair, smoking and drinking. In logistic regression analysis, high-caffeine drink consumption with ‘〈 1 time / day’, experience of sadness & despair (yes) was 1.18 times higher (p<.001) and In case of high-caffeine drink consumption with ‘≥1 time/day’, experience sadness & despair (yes) was 1.32 times higher (p<.001) compared to experience of sadness & despair (none). Conclusion: The results provide a basis information for the developing an intervention program to reduce experience of sadness & despair and high-caffeine drink consumption for high school students.

The purpose of this study was to explore the structural relationships among mobile game addiction, cyberbullying, and hostility with elementary school students and to identify the specific pathways through which mobile game addiction affects cyberbullying perpetration. A total of 406 students at grades 4 to 6 were recruited from two elementary schools in a metropolitan area. The participants were surveyed regarding their levels of mobile game addiction (MGA), cyberbullying victimization (CBV), cyberbyllying perpetration (CBP), and hostility. Using the bootstrapping analysis in the structural equation modeling (SEM), pathways through which mobile game addiction affects cyberbullying perpetration were tested. The results are as follows. Firstly, mobile game addiction had a direct effect on cyberbullying victimization and an indirect effect on cyberbullying perpetration. Secondly, three pathways from mobile game addiction to cyberbullying perpetration were identified in a path analysis: ‘MGA → CBV → CBP,’ ‘MGA → hostility → CBP,’ and ‘MGA → CBV → hostility → CBP.’

Background: This study aimed to systematically review the literature on psychosocial interventions implemented for infertile women and to meta-analyze the effects of various interventions on anxiety relief. The objective of this study was to understand the efficacy of psychosocial interventions for relieving anxiety in infertile. Methods: Using electronic databases (Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBASE, CINAHL, and PsycARTICLES), 19 studies were selected and used for meta-analysis. To estimate the effect size, a meta-analysis of the studies was performed using RevMan 5.3. Results: Among psychosocial interventions, mind-body intervention (standardized mean difference (SMD) = -0.48; 95% confidence interval (CI) = -0.78, -0.19; p<.001; I² = 70%) was effective in relieving anxiety. Cognitive behavioral therapy (standardized mean difference (SMD) = -0.72; 95% confidence interval (CI) = -1.31, -0.13; p<.001; I² = 72%) was effective in relieving anxiety. Conclusions: It was confirmed that psycho-social interventions (e.g., mind-body therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy) had a positive impact on anxiety relief in infertile women. Among psycho-social interventions, mind-body therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy were most effective in relieving anxiety.
