This paper aims to study Weibo posts about the 2021 Zhengzhou rainstorm disaster to demonstrate the usefulness of social media data in disaster management. Social media data, as an emerging source of big data is increasingly being used to disseminate important information about disasters to the public. This paper explores the usefulness of Weibo data in disaster management by taking the Zhengzhou rainstorm in 2021 as a case. First, based on web crawlers and Weibo API, this study obtained Weibo posts related to topics of rainstorm. A temporal analysis of related Weibo posts shows that the temporal trend of the number of rainstorm related Weibo posts coincided with the developmental stages of the rainstorm. Second, topic extraction from Weibo content was performed, which found that people discuss different topics on social media in different disaster stages. Finally, the hot keywords of Weibo posts were extracted, which most intuitively expresses people's information exchange during rainstorm. This study demonstrates that disaster information extracted form social media could reflect the public's disaster risk perception and material needs well and have potential to disaster management resource.

South Korea's judicial interpreting system was introduced in 2005 as a supportive institution for protecting human rights of foreigners under criminal charges. The system was developed by the country's judicature without legislative engagement and has continuously been improved as such. Although certain academic fields have attempted to add legally binding forces to the system, little attention has been paid to the sociological and historical contexts of the system. For the purpose of legislating the system, the elements that hinder the legislating process need to be identified. In this study, the sociological and historical concepts of a "nation," "nationhood," and "citizenship" are reviewed to understand South Korea's Nationality Act to briefly discuss its post-modern inclination toward homogeneous nationalism. Based on the theoretical examination, the country's judicial interpreting system that lacks legally binding forces and field-focused practical data are suggested as the two missing blocks of complementing the system. As an initiative step, this paper concludes with the analysis of how the system is applied and practiced on different occasions and what elements are left to be improved.

The purpose of this study was to develop a system dynamics model to dynamically analyze the effects of heatwaves and apply it to real-world situations. For this purpose, first, the influencing factors of heatwaves were identified through previous studies. Second, a dynamic heatwave model was developed. Third, time series data from 2009 to 2018 were constructed, and the model was applied to Seoul. In this step, scenarios based on the budget were created, and the intensity of heatwaves resulting from changes in variables were measured. The results are as follows: First, the policy factors of heatwaves were classified into the cause and effect of the heatwave group, heatwave mitigation policy group, and heatwave adaptation group, forming a feedback structure. Second, it was observed that a 20% increase in budgets starting from 2040 led to temperature reductions of 1.57°C for the eco-friendly vehicle policy, 0.29°C for the high-efficiency air conditioners policy, 0.06°C for heatwave shelters, and 0.77°C for the creation of green space policy. Third, increasing the budget for heatwave shelters was found to be highly effective in reducing the number of people with heat-related illnesses.

This study explores the ePolicy cycle, with a specific focus on the intricate relationship between big data, citizen engagement, and government decision-making. The primary objective is to shed light on the complexities, opportunities, and challenges inherent in this dynamic interplay. The study aims to equip policymakers, government officials, data analysts, and engaged citizens with the knowledge and insights needed to effectively navigate this evolving landscape. This research examines the key components of ePolicy within the context of data-driven governance, emphasizing the principles of data privacy, security, and transparency. Furthermore, it explores the innovative ways in employed by governments to leverage the potential of big data analytics for making more informed and responsive policy decisions, as well as the growing role of citizens in co-creating public policies through digital channels. As it navigates this multifaceted terrain, the aim is to foster a deeper understanding of the ePolicy cycle and its implications for modern governance. This study seeks to empower stakeholders at all levels to responsibly leverage big data, engage citizens effectively, and ultimately forge a more collaborative, data-informed, and participatory future for government policy-making.

The purpose of this research is for verifying the association between subjective health status and cohabitation status of elderly group in Korea. the 8th National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES Ⅷ-2) raw data used for analysis. The respondents of this research were 2,314 people aged 60 and older. Data analysis was performed by SPSS. Chi-square analysis was performed for differences of subjective health perception and general characteristics. Logistic regression analysis was performed for to analyze factors related to subjective health perception and cohabitation status. In 60s age group, gender, household income, education level, cohabitation status, drinking were related to subjective health perception. In 70s, gender, education level, walking were related to subjective health perception. In 80 and older, household income, walking were related to subjective health perception, In logistic regression analysis, subjective health perception in 60s age group was 2.1 times higher in the case of cohabitation (yes) compared to cohabitation (no). Subjective health status have been related to successful aging. This research' result would be used for basic data for the developing an intervention program to improve subjective health perception in the elderly.
