Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of stress perception and physical activity in the elderly over 60 years of age in Korea. Methods: This s tudy was a s econdary d ata analysis and used d ata from the 8 th 2 nd ( 2 02 0) National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) as raw data. The subjects of this study were 2,360 elderly people aged 60 years or older from raw data. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS 25 ver. Descriptive statistics, chi-square analysis and complex sample logistic regression analysis were performed. Results: Household income, women, subjective health perception, walking were related to stress perception. In result of complex sample logistic regression analysis after adjusting the control variables, the stress perception in 60-69 ages was 2.064 times higher in the case of '1-2 days' walking per week compared to 'more than 3 days' walking per week. The stress perception in 70 years and older was 1.801 times higher in the case of 'none' walking per week compared to 'more than 3 days walking per week. Conclusion: The results provide a basis information for developing an intervention program to improve the stress management and develop a program for healthy aging.

This study was conducted to identify influencing factors on COVID-19 prevention behaviors to manage COVID-19 in Gyeongsangnam-do. The survey was carried out using a method of self-reported questionnaire between February and March in 2021 to 457 adults selected through convenience sampling in 6 randomized regions in Gyeongsangnam-do. The tool was a Likert scale used to measure health beliefs and COVID-19 prevention behaviors. Collected data were analyzed for descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression using SPSS WIN21.0 program. The study results showed that the degree of COVID-19 prevention behaviors was 3.40±.38 points (out of 4) on average. The influential factors of COVID-19 prevention behaviors included the degree of perception of COVID-19 (β=.34, p<.001), cues to action (β=.16, p<.001), perceived severity (β=.15, p=.002), perceived barriers (β=.15, p<.001), and perceived benefits (β=.14, p<.001), and their explanatory power was 33.8% (F=26.78, p<.001). In conclusion, it is suggested that we use strategies to improve the perceptions of COVID-19 so as to effectively perform COVID-19 crisis management in Gyeongsangnam-do.

Conventional studies are limited in identifying the effectiveness of each country in seeking educational support. This study hypothesizes that educational aid through Official Development Assistance (ODA) is positively effected by ODA subprograms. It aims to identify the determinants of economic growth and the living standard levels in 15 Asian countries, focusing particularly on the education aid effects of Official Development Assistance (ODA). Two indexes were used: (1) the annual ODA grants to Korea, with aid type as the key independent variable; and (2) the human development index (HDI). The pooled OLS model, the fixed effects (FE) model, and a random effects (RE) model were analyzed. The results show that the economic and social impacts of ODA based on panel data were significant and that specific subprograms were more likely to directly affect HDI. In particular, the effect of aid on education was statistically significant. However, the findings show a negative impact which means it is difficult to estimate the short-term effectiveness of educational aid and it is nonlinear relation.

Korea has successfully hosted international sports events such as the 1986 Asian Games, the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and the 2002 World Cup. On August 27, 2011, the World Championships in Athletics were held in Daegu, and by hosting the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, it became the fifth country in the world to host all four major international sports events after France, Germany, Italy and Japan. However, it should be recognized that the threat of terror activities exists behind the hosting of international sporting events. The representative terror activities in relation to international sports events in the international community include the terror activities of hostage, kidnapping, and killing by the Black September Team under the Palestine Liberation Organization targeting Israeli athletes and officials at the Munich Olympics on September 5, 1972, a bombing attack that took place at Gimpo International Airport on September 14, 1986, a week before the Asian Games in Seoul, Korea, and the bombing of Korean Air Flight 858 over Andaman, Myanmar on November 29, 1987 to obstruct the 1988 Seoul Olympics, etc. This study aims to analyze cases of terror activities that occurred in relation to international sports events held in Korea, and at the same time forecast possible terror activities as a means to prevent or obstruct the holding of international sports events.

Recent trends of disaster present that disasters are more uncertain and complex with unpredictable cascading effects owing to global environmental and climate change. As one of the significant phenomena, natural hazards triggering technological accidents, so-called Natech, which cause acute and prolonged terrifying consequences, have also been increased. Considering low probability but high consequences, Natech accidents often exceed the capacity of disaster preparedness and response of local government and professional responders. As a result, the need to better manage Natech risks has become a challenge in disaster risk management among all stakeholders, including government, disaster and safety experts, industry, and citizens. Although there have been numerous efforts undertaken by international organizations and individual countries to reduce Natech risks, there are still not sufficient reflections to reduce the risks of natural hazard triggering technological disasters in South Korea. Thus, this study highlights lessons from Natech risk reduction practices undertaken by individual countries and recent minor Natech cases to fullfill gaps in effective risk management considering for cascading effects.
