Landslides are one of the major natural disasters in Nepal and responsible for loss of property and lives. Landslide hazard mapping is an important tool for disaster management. The landslide hazard maps provide information about landslide vulnerability condition of certain region, which is beneficial for the community in planning, mitigating, and avoiding the danger. Various methods of hazard assessment have been proposed and demonstrated in Nepal. The use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for landslide hazard mapping has been increasing constantly in recent years in Nepal. In this study, GIS technology was applied to investigate zonation of the landslide hazards of the Pelakot VDC, Syagnja, Nepal. The Village Development Committee (VDC) is one of the susceptible areas to landslides in Syangja. In this particular area, several landslides were occurred. The method of landslide zonation used in this study was weighted overlay method. The causative factors include slope, landuse, geology, distance to drainage, distance to fault. The study of the area has been classified into five categories of relative landslide hazard namely, very low, low, moderate, and high. As a result, it can be concluded that 7% of this particular area has a high landslide hazard.

Data were analyzed using x2-test, independent t-test and paired t-test using the SPSS programs. Result: The post-value of the extent of anxiety, hostility, and post-traumatic stress, after carrying out the psychological support program in both experimental and control groups, was slightly more reduced than the prior-value, but didn't show a statistically significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion: In order for a continuous effects of the psychological programs for the adolescents who have witnessed traumatic events, should not just end up with an application of the short-term program, but should do a long-term follow-up studies considering the avoidance of adolescents’ self-expressions.

This study investigates the impacts of tobacco consumption and manufacturing on the environment. Specifically, we examine current practices and strategies, which address tobacco waste – against a global backdrop of tobacco cultivation, consumption and production. Given the junction of external practices and governmental decisions as a goal in tobacco control, public policy theory becomes important in our examination of how strategies to address the environmental impacts of tobacco production waste can be aligned with appropriate public policy approaches. Such theory supports the principle that government, as the most effective advocate for measures to protect the global citizen and environment, should promote public policies, which seek to safeguard both.
