Cyberloafing Across Generation X and Y in Indonesia

Cyberloafing is as counterproductive behavior because it is the act of using internet for personal purposes which can affect employees’ productivity, especially when done excessively (more than 4 hours a week). The objective of this study was to analyze whether gender and education level had significant effect on cyberloafing among generations in the workplace. From 267 respondents, gender was not found to have impact on cyberloafing because female and male respondents had the same frequency of low level cyberloafing. However, female had higher excessive cyberloafing than male. Gen Y had significant impact on the relationship between education and cyberloafing but Gen Y with diploma degree was revealed to have excessive cyberloafing. Furthermore, Gen X had started combining professional and personal lives throughout their daily lives. Hence, organizations should foster a culture of hard work by giving challenging job with clear target and worthy incentive but still implementing internet usage policy.

As the numbers of Internet users have grown dramatically in recent years due to increased use of mobile devices, businesses using internet are also expanding rapidly. Internet marketing has the advantage of expanding business without any constraint of time and space using the global network which connects tens of thousands of world’s computers and mobile devices. In a way of utilizing internet marketing, the present study examines the applicability of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to the domestic professional baseball industry in Korea. The study focuses on the issue of whether the intangible value of customer satisfaction can create higher profits. We combine both inductive and conductive methods for this study. First, we carry out a random survey of baseball spectators and find that customers are willing to pay more when their satisfaction level is improved. Next, we recognize satisfaction factors that are considered as important by customers through literature survey. Then we use Decision Tree to find which satisfaction factors are most important to each clustered customer group. Finally we estimate how much they would pay more when the most important satisfaction factor improves by each customer group. Therefore, this study demonstrates that CRM implementation to one-to-one internet marketing can improve the profitability of baseball industry. The major contribution of the present study is to show that the introduction of CRM can be used as a profit-generating strategy in various industries for future internet marketing.

The popularity of Social Network Service (SNS) providing web sites has increased continuously by using a variety of mobile devices. The study results show that security of SNS, efficiency of SNS, safety, empathy of SNS quality, easy of use of SNS, assurance of SNS, service variety of SNS are having positive impact to some degree on the user satisfaction. Further, the user satisfaction of SNS users have a positive impact on the continuance usage intention of SNS users. This results show that various SNS qualities are necessary to actively explore and obtain further information that users intend to find, while they are insufficient in function to provide the information other users require or exchange information with other users through the SNS.

In recent years, more data is being generated for the activation of the SNS, the spread of Smartphones and the development of IT technology. Therefore, it is to collect large amounts of data, analyze and ensure meaningful information has become important. The use of these data are formed on the global trend. Big data so-called, has attracted attention as a source of new business. Big Data can then give us the opportunity to be able to create a new customer and diversify the business. So, many companies have investment and effort for big data utilization. However, technology, infrastructure, human resources is different for each of the companies. Therefore, it is necessary to diagnose the level of big data utilization companies. In this study, through a literature review of existing, we derived the success factors for the big data utilization. And developed a diagnostic indicator that allows success factors derived, can be used to determine levels of big data utilization of the company. In addition, as a development of diagnostic indicators, were carried out case studies to diagnose company. Through this study, it will be an opportunity to be able to be reflected in the strategy of big data utilization company.

This paper aims to reach the perceptions, ideas and intentions of the higher education adolescences on the effects of technological innovations over interrelation/communication between individuals. While advances in technology commonly works for the welfare and benefit of humankind, paradoxically in some instances could have negative outcomes on interrelations among individuals, minimizing face-to-face communication. The perceptions, so ideas of the individuals on the matter could differ depending on their age, gender, race and the culture beyond their relative intimacy and closeness to ICT tools. In order to penetrate the basic initiatives leading the perceptions of adolescents on the effects of technological improvements on human interrelations/ communication, a survey is conducted with 157 students in high education consisting of Asian, African, Cypriot, Turkish nationals. Results indicate that participants use technological tools for communication which lessens their face-to-face interaction. However they prefer social media more than face-to- face communication during conflict or undesirable situations
Identifying Prospective Visitors and Recommending Personalized Booths in the Exhibition Industry

Exhibition industry is important business domains to many countries. Not only lots of countries designated the exhibition industry as tools to stimulate national economics, but also many companies offer millions of service or products to customers. Recommender systems can help visitors navigate through large information spaces of various booths. However, no study before has proposed a methodology for identifying and acquiring prospective visitors although it is important to acquire them. Accordingly, we propose a methodology for identifying, acquiring prospective visitors, and recommending the adequate booth information to their preferences in the exhibition industry. We assume that a visitor will be interested in an exhibition within same class of exhibition taxonomy as exhibition which the visitor already saw. Moreover, we use user-based collaborative filtering in order to recommend personalized booths before exhibition. A prototype recommender system is implemented to evaluate the proposed methodology. Our experiments show that the proposed methodology is better than the item-based CF and have an effect on the choice of exhibition or exhibit booth through automation of word-of-mouth communication.

This study aims to suggest research implications that may contribute to preventing turnover of personnel in small and medium sized software companies. A research model is developed based on the Bergiel, et al. (2009) and Woo and Hwang (2010). This model describes how human resource management (HRM) practices (compensation, recognition, job autonomy, technical capability development, work-life conflict) affect turnover intention, through the mediating effects of job satisfaction and job embeddedness. 177 questionnaires are collected and analyzed. Validity and reliability of measures, and appropriateness of the structural model are verified. Results of the hypotheses testing are somewhat different from the expected ones: Only compensation and technical capability development are significant, but the remaining variables are not significant in affecting job satisfaction and job embeddedness. As for turnover intention, job embeddedness and job satisfaction are proved to be significant predictors. From the analyses of data, subsequent interview with several respondents and additional data analyses, more research implications are derived. The study has a limitation of not including more diverse variables that might affect job embeddedness and job satisfaction of so called road warriors.

The following study specially aims to market platform in the mobile circumstance. The characteristics of customers and infrastructure are handled by market platform under the new media. These characteristics will be revealed based on the unification of organizational structure and interaction of information structure in the relationship marketing. This study investigates what characteristics and impact of infrastructure of Market Platform will affect the cognitive impact on both buyers and sellers to clarify the impact on Perceived integratedness and Interactive Accessibility of the shopping process. Through this investigation, modeling for the impact that new media environment will attract Market Platform will be developed from the investigation of attractiveness of mobile market platform environment. Changes in the technical media environment gave the characteristics of the customer in the market platform, so consumers could involve not only consumed, but also manufactured. Thus, it is possible to increase the attractiveness if market must be able to not only for the convenience of shopping, but also make people to enjoy the experience of value co-creation. In other words, the new media, as a result of affecting the marketing system, mobile market platform is organized on the base of the market communication. Perceived integratedness and Interactive Accessibility, 2 properties of new media increase the co-creation experience and perceived convenience in the market platform of their customers. Therefore, the structure of market platform that enhance the co-creation experience and perceived convenience has higher attractiveness. They create beneficial experience to the customers and productive values to the producers as well.
The Causal Relationship between the Acceptance Attitudes and the Expected Effects of Smart Work

This paper explores the causal relationship between acceptance attitudes and expected effects of smart work. With the rapid development of smart technologies, lots of organizations try to innovate in the conventional working styles for maximizing organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Although many organizations wish to foster smart working environment, they don’t have confidence in detailed action plans and effects from it. Therefore, this study that explores the causal relationship between acceptance attitudes and effects may have crucial meaning to organizations pursuing smart work. In this research empirically conducted by questionnaire survey, the acceptance attitudes as predictors and the expected effects of smart work as influenced variables were used. This research analyzed 118 collected data and multiple regression analysis. As a result of analysis, teleworking shows the positive relations to all of dependent variables. And others have a positive or negative influence on effects of smart work. Results of this study may give implications to organizations that want to implement smart work environment.

This paper was tried to show the improvement model for software industry structure in Korea regarding to have the global level of competence in Korean software firms. To suggest the improvement model for software industry structure, the detailed status about software industry which as in the supply and demand perspectives and comparativeness dimension were analysed. Also to this model the special survey results from the 35 professionalists in the software industry were included. This improvement model suggests the big software firms have to consider the economy of the scale, and to enter global IT market, the other SMEs have to pursuit themselves as a specified technology firms. So it is good for the oversea project collaboration with the solution provider firms and IT service firms. And it is desirable to make a the economy of scale regarding as the solution venture startup, M&A, networking the software firms as supply chain. Also the development of new business model for new market and firms with the high-tech business competency will be required.
Development of Outbound Tourism Forecasting Models in Korea

This research analyzes the effects of factors on the demands for outbound to the countries such as Japan, China, the United States of America, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, the countries preferred by many Koreans. The factors for this research are (1) economic variables such as Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI), which could have influences on outbound tourism and exchange rate and (2) unpredictable events such as diseases, financial crisis and terrors. Regression analysis was used to identify relationship based on the monthly data from January 2001 to December 2010. The results of the analysis show that both exchange rate and KOSPI have impacts on the demands for outbound travel. In the case of travels to the United States of America and Philippines, Korean tourists usually have particular purposes such as studying, visiting relatives, playing golf or honeymoon, thus they are less influenced by the exchange rate. Moreover, Korean tourists tend not to visit particular locations for some time when shock reaction happens. As the demands for outbound travels are different from country to country accompanied by economic variables and shock variables, differentiated measure to should be considered to come close to the target numbers of tourists by switching as well as creating the demands. For further study we plan to build outbound tourism forecasting models using Artificial Neural Networks.
