In the ubiquitous computing environments, people usually carry multiple information technology devices with them. Personal device network (PDN) refers to the way how people connect multiple IT devices for their personal as well as professional purposes. Even though it has been quite popular to construct the PDN in ubiquitous computing context, not much research has been conducted on how people actually connected multiple devices and what influences their methods of connection. In this paper we conducted a content analysis on community bulletin boards of IT devices and a contextual inquiry with expert users of PDN for investigating the configurations with which users connect multiple IT devices. Base on the results of two related studies, we identified three major types of PDN configurations, and key factors that influence the configurations of PDN. We conclude this research with guidelines to design a set of devices for each of the three configuration types.

Small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) face a number of different kinds of barriers to adopt information technology, including the lack of information, limited financial and technical resources, and absence of the well-trained work force in the realm of information technology. But application service provider (ASP)enables these SMEs to informatize. This paper is focused on studying the cases of the adoption and use of the ASP-based ERP systems that 7 SMEshad adopted. The factors that influence the adoption and use of SMEs’ ASP-based ERP systems are divided into the user companies that adopted the systems, the systems vendors, and environment. From the viewpoint of the user company, the successful adoption and use of the systems is significantly influenced by the clear motive of adopting the systems, the financial readiness, and the strong intention of CEO for pushing ahead with e-Business. From the systems vendor, it is influenced by the technical expertise of the vendor, the knowledge of the user company, and the experience of the systems development. From the perspective of environment, it is influenced by the push from the players in the value chains. The companies that had adopted the ASP-based ERP systems and that had extended the level of systems use had the benefits through reducing the cost, improving the internal business process, and achieving the learning and growth of the organization.

According to developing Wireless Communication, not only a location based service at the outside but also a location based service at the inside was more increased socially. This paper proposes the efficient algorithm to locate a transfer object in frequent change of indoor environment using Indoor location tracking system we develop ourself. Proposing algorithm in this paper can locate a transfer object using the Fingerprint, one of the Location Tracking techniques which are used in general to minimize error data between Location Tracking System and Fingerprint, using this way that corrects location data as KF apply to result data can improve accuracy of a transfer object. At last we are going to compare and analyze existing typical triangulation with proposed Indoor location tracking system to demonstrate algorithm efficiency for proposed Indoor location tracking system.

In this paper, we consider the multi-view video technology. The technology, which is a field of 3-Dimensional video processing, enables the user to watch the various view-point of video. We expect that the technology will be applicable to a lot of video services. The economic effects of new technology are very important concern for the technology developer and the technology development policy makers. We, therefore, propose a general method for the economic repercussion effects of the multi-view video technology. The method is based on the expert opinion and input-output analysis. The results for the multi-view video technology are included.

Information revolution shifted the meaning of education from traditional face-to-face education to technology integrated virtual one, namely cyber education. A new way of education, however, has not constituted its methodological standards either performance measurement scheme. The study probes the critical factors that influence students’ achievement and satisfaction especially in the cyber education environment. Using hierarchical regression, important factors for students’ achievement and satisfaction in the management education environment are presented. The results indicate that students’ individual characteristics are relatively less influential for cyber education success. Rather, institutional supports including provision of in-depth interaction among students and with the instructor are more critical. We can infer that cyber education essentially requires three factors : in-depth interactions with instructor collaborative environment among peer students technical support from the institution.

Understanding characteristics of Internet businesses from cross-cultural perspective could offer valuable insights on developing business strategy and policy. This work is concerned with revealing divergence and convergence of Internet business models in their financial performance, given organizational conditions and cultural context. For this, we studied the association between organizational attributes (core activity, origination, firm age, and industry) and their effects on a firm’s financial performance (gross revenue and net income). Relevant data was gathered from representative Internet firms in Korea and U.S. Data analysis indicated that there exist both similarities and differences between Korea and U.S and year 2003 and 2006. While core activities and industry types of U.S. firms has not been changed much between the periods, Korean firms show much difference. In addition, while core activities and industry type were found to have strong relationship with financial performance, age and origination of a firm weak connections with financial performance. This study is expected to provide a foundation for developing more robust and systematic research model and performing further empirical research in this area.

Diversity of available communication media has increased as the use of Internet and mobile technology increased rapidly. The traditional media tend to transform their roles and functionality. This change brings about the expansion of the span of media to be selected by users. In this study, we examined the characteristics of emerging communication media use based on Niche Theory. Online communication media in this study include Internet messenger, mobile phone, and e-mail. We also analyzed the relationship between the nature of task and the selection of communication media, that is, the effects of communication contexts(formal vs. informal, notification vs. request, superior vs. inferior) where by the communication partners are involved. The result of this study, mobile phone had the highest niche competitive superiority in all communication contexts, and internet messenger and e-mail made difference according to communication contexts. Also, we can notify internet messenger and e-mail have a mutual substitutive relationship by analysis of niche overlap.

The measurement of informatization program effectiveness continues to be a central concern of both academics and practitioners. However, most studies of it have been inclined too heavily toward testing validity and reliability of evaluation measure to strengthen the theoretical rigor. Drawbacks of this approach have been pointed out as being unsuitable for evaluating the effectiveness of informatization program due to lack of practical relevance. The paper comprises four sections to solve the problem. 1) Through literature review of theoretical conceptual models in IS effectiveness and the domestic and foreign cases on informatization program, we establish the evaluation framework which consists of evaluation phases, 6 evaluation areas, and 22 evaluation items, and developed evaluation measures of each items. 2) Different researchers have addressed different aspects of attribute of measure. With comparing them to each other, 3 mutually exclusive criteria on coincidence analysis(usability of measurement, reliability of measurement, and validity of content) are identified. 3) Data are gathered from respondents in informatizaiton program-related organizations such as policy agency, management agency, support agency, and recipient agency. 4) The degree of coincidence of each evaluation measure are analyzed by course of an coincidence analysis procedure, which includes the reliability test, arithmetical test, and criteria validity test. The academic implication of this study is that researchers can gain an insight into the coincidence analysis to approach the problem of deciding on an indicator of performance for informatization program. There is also practical implication for applying the potential means of improving the practical relevance of conducting evaluating the informatization program.

The purpose of this study is to examine factors influencing online product transformation focusing on benefits of online shopping and word of mouth. Generally, it has been known that buying search goods is more proper than experience goods in the online. However benefits of online shopping and word of mouth make product transformation from experience goods to search goods and the product transformation promote the purchase of experience goods online. We developed a conceptual model of online product transformation including benefits of online shopping(e.g. good price and convenience), online word of mouth (e.g. bulletin board and consumer reviews), and consumer characteristics (e.g. innovativeness and Internet usage). Also, we suggest several research propositions on online product transformation. The implications for marketing strategies of experience goods and furher research direction are suggested.
