Many IS researchers had the greatest interesting in publication in leading IS journals. Studies of measuring research performance of Information Systems (IS) are the most important research areas. Today,many IS researchers considered Management Information Systems Quarterly (MISQ), Information Systems Research (ISR), and Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS) as the leading IS journals. In this study, we analyzed the published papers of Korean and overseas Koreans related IS researchers in ISR, MISQ, and JMIS from 2001 to 2010. The results of this study appeared the trend of increasing frequency of publication of IS research in south Korea in the leading IS journals such as ISR, MISQ, JMIS. The findings of this research showed the excellent performance of IS researchers and provided valuable information regarding publications performance of IS researchers in leading IS Journals.

Influencing Factors on Consumers’ Smartphone Adoption

The purpose of this study is to investigate the research model attempting to explain factors influencing consumers' attitude towards Smartphone adoption and behavioral intention to use a Smartphone. The 357 sets of data are tested against the model using SEM (structural equation model). The research results reveal that organizational and social influences, consumers' self-actualization, and trust affect consumers' attitude towards Smartphone adoption, and behavioral control influences behavioral intention. Implications of the findings suggest that Smartphone should be approached with a holistic view, suggesting that Smartphone research should emphasize Smartphone as a convergent device including both hardware and software with services and applications. Research results are discussed, and limitations of the current study and future research are presented.

Business environment goes through an unprecedented massive shift that has never happened before. For that reason, business models have to be designed to considering the changed environments. This study develops a business model for independent business to build an ontology system. The system has potentials to improve existing independent business models and to provide more detailed and precise information for users as relevant data accumulates. The ontology system helps independent business meet market demands, generate income for founders, and increase society-wide income levels. The results of the study provides insights to build ontology systems for new starting enterprises running their business.

정보화 성과의 사전-사후평가 차이에 관한 사례연구

The purpose of this longitudinal case study is to shed light on the reliability problems of IS performance evaluation by analyzing the discrepancy between ex ante evaluation in 2011 and ex post evaluation in 2012. Through an information system development project of a public enterprise, the gap between ex ante and ex post evaluation was ascertained and the causes as to why such gap occurs and the success factors that can solve the problems were derived. The ex ante evaluation of IS performance was performed based on both IS success model and BSC model and the ex post evaluation was carried out at the time after the target system has been built up by applying the evaluation measures and process that are similar to the ex ante evaluation. In the ex ante evaluation the business performance improved by the target system was estimated to 18.2%. On the other hand, it was seen as being low at 15.2% in the ex post evaluation and the differences were found to be statistically significant in 6 out of 10 measures. The reasons as to why such gap occurs were diagnosed as being of 2 types : (1) changes in the evaluation psychology according to the differences in the evaluation objectives; and (2) excessive expectation levels of the target system that is formed at the time of the ex ante evaluation. In other words, the users who have excessive expectations tend to overestimate in the ex ante evaluation and, in the ex post evaluation, tend to underestimate lower than the actual performance mainly due to disappointment on the results that do not meet the early expectations. As solutions to overcome the reliability problem of ex ante evaluation, 3 factors were derived : (1) the temperance of excessive expectation levels of the users; (2) a clear definition of the scope and functionality of the target system; and (3) actual commitments for the evaluations of IT performance.

Thanks to the growth of information technology (IT), e-commerce transactions are rapidly developing. Consumers searched and purchased for products and services through e- commerce transactions and felt excitement and satisfaction through shopping behaviors in online shopping malls. The enlargement of company's marketing efforts and consumer tastes of the uncontrolled consumption for goods and services increased the impulsive purchase in online shopping malls. In diffusing consumers' e-impulse buying, consumers increased in expenditures according to unnecessary purchasing behavior in online shopping malls. However, enterprises increased sales and benefits due to consumers' impulse buying in online shopping malls. Accordingly, in research areas of enterprises and consumers levels, the studies of e-impulse buying will provide significant values for marketers of companies. In this study, we analyzed the relationships among intention to use, trust, and value in online shopping malls. And we also analyzed the moderating effect of e-impulse buying with utilitarian and hedonic value to establish trust in online shopping malls. The result of this study showed that hedonic and utilitarian value should have a positive impact trust and trust should have a positive impact intention to use in the online shopping malls. The e-impulsive buying showed a moderating effect on the relationship between hedonic value and trust in online shopping malls. The e-impulsive buying didn't show, however, a moderating effect on the between utilitarian value and trust in online shopping malls. The results of this study will provide valuable implications for implementing e-commerce strategies.

Since 2008 when IPTV service entered the broadcasting market, the competition among interactive broadcasting media has been growing more and more fierce. To make a market strategy under the harsh competition, this study tried to make an IPTV customer segmentation based on the characteristics of interactive broadcasting media. From previous literature, this study drew five characteristics of interactive broadcasting media : ease of use, two-way communications, active control, variety of content, and economic efficiency. Two-step clustering based on these characteristics identified four customer segments. There were statistically significant differences in the five characteristics among the customer segments. This study profiled the customer segments and proposed competitive strategies for each customer segment.

Cluster industries are geographically concentrated and inter-connected by the flow of goods and services, which is stronger than the flow linking them to the rest of the economy. Photonics industries are one of the fastest growing high-tech industries in the world today. Especially, the city of Gwangju(South Korea) industrial cluster, a specialized complex in photonics industry, produced remarkable results in developing high-quality technologies since it launched the cluster program in 2005. Gwangju photonics industrial cluster will be ranked top level of the world photonics industry. In this sense, this study is aimed at proposing a new research model in which corporate performance influence factors of photonics industrial cluster (i.e., business environment, cooperative relationship, and industry-university-research institute partnership) affect absorptive capacity positively, leading to corporate performance eventually. This study developed a research model to explain the Korean photonics industrial cluster effects, and collected 91 survey responses from photonics based company managers in industrial cluster complex. To prove the validity of the proposed research model, PLS analysis is applied with valid 91 questionnaires. By employing PLS technique, the measurement reliability and validity of research variables are tested and the path analysis is conducted to do the hypothesis testing. In brief, the finding of this study suggests that corporate performance influence factors of photonics industrial cluster affect absorptive capacity positively, and corporate performance as well.

Software architecture, as a blueprint for the system, should provide a robust foundation for design, implementation, and maintenance, for communication and documentation, and for reasoning about important system properties. Software architecture plays a central role during the whole software life-cycle. There are so diverse definitions of the software architecture, however, and there is no common agreement about what software architecture is. Examining 27 ‘published' definitions of software architecture, we synthesize an extensive model on the essential elements of software architecture, which consists of components, interaction among components, well-formed structure, reasons, and various perspectives. Further, we explore the possibility of unifying diverse software architecture definitions into a software architecture life-cycle model.

This study explores the reporting tendencies of project managers when sending a status reports to their respective senior managers in information systems development project. It also examines the effect of selective reporting on report quality and systems development performance. The research model is proposed based on literature survey as well as key points from Iacovou et al. [2009] which is an extension of selective reporting in information systems project. Analysis of responses from 257 project managers in information systems industry indicates that pessimistic reporting by project managers has negative effect on both report quality (mediator variable) and systems development performance, while optimistic reporting has no significant effect on systems development performance. The CEO interest has an impact on the senior manager's power, which in turn leads to optimistic reporting by project managers. The senior manager's character has an impact on the senior manager's leadership, which in turn leads to pessimistic reporting. No direct relationship exists either between CEO interest and optimistic reporting or between senior manager's character and pessimistic reporting. In addition, trust toward the senior managers is significantly related to pessimistic reporting. Finally, report tendencies are also found to be affected by the active/passive characteristics of project managers.

The cost of software maintenance occupies about two thirds in the software lifecycle. However, it is not easy to estimate the cost of software maintenance because of various viewpoints about software maintenance, unclear estimation methods, and complex procedures. Until now, the cost estimation model has used compensation factors for software characteristic and environment on the basis of program size. Especially, most of existing models use maintenance rate of total software cost as a main variable. This paper suggests the software maintenance cost estimation model that uses the result of calculating real maintenance efforts. In this paper, we classify functional maintenance and non-functional maintenance as software maintenance activity type. For functional maintenance, present function point of target software is needed to evaluate. The suggested maintenance cost evaluation model is applied to a software case in public sector. This paper discusses some differences between our model and other modes.

SNS has been recognized as a means of expanding social capital by promoting interaction and efficient communication among users. On the other hand, there are serious concerns on negative side of social network which is often called epidemics. Trust plays a critical role in controlling the spread of distorted information and vicious rumor as well as reducing uncertainties and risk from unreliable users in social network. This study focuses on what the antecedents of interpersonal trust are in social network. We performed online survey from 252 Twitter users and tested candidate antecedents which are chosen from previous literature. As a result, propensity to trust of trustor, ability and sincerity of trustee, intimacy between trustor and trustee significantly affected to the interpersonal trust in Twitter.

경쟁적인 통신서비스 시장에서 MVNO 도매대가 산정에 관한 연구

In the past, companies should make enormous facility investment and acquire a right to do business in order to join communication markets, but now they can do business without important facilities, such as communication networks. Such a movement to ease regulations about companies which want to newly join the communication industry is expected not only to change a competition frame of the mobile communication market but also to greatly affect the entire communication industry. Through this study aiming to look into a way to calculate a reasonable wholesale price related to the government’s introduction of the Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) system, I came up with a following result. I applied the operating profit percentage and the ratio of operating gain to cost to the cost plus model and retail minus model, respectively, to calculate the wholesale price and found that when I calculated with the cost plus model applying the operating profit percentage, I could get the highest wholesale price. On the other hand, I got the lowest wholesale price with the retail minus model by applying the operating profit percentage. Division of expenses and calculation of profit percentage are important factors in calculating the wholesale price and such results are expected to help accurate calculation of the MVNO wholesale price.

위험이 구매의도에 미치는 영향의 재조명 : 전자상거래 이용자 집단의 혁신성을 중심으로

There are so many studies on perceived risk and purchasing intention. But the results of those studies were inconsistent; some studies showed the positive effect of perceived risk on purchasing intention; others showed the negative effect. This research supposed that the inconsistence of studies resulted from the difference of group innovativeness and set up research hypotheses : among users from the lower innovativeness group, perceived risk has a negative effect on purchasing intention, but from the higher group, perceived risk has a positive effect on purchasing intention. We compared Internet shopping mall users of South Korea representing low innovativeness with those of China representing high innovativeness. The results provided that among South Korean users, perceived risk had the statistically insignificant negative effect on purchasing intention, but among Chinese users, it had the statistically significant positive effect on purchasing intention. Additionally, this study found that perceived risk influenced users’ fun which in turn influenced purchasing intention.

국내 대기업의 개방형 혁신 저해요인에 대한 WFGM 관점 분석 사례

Recently the open innovation is considered as one of the important issues for the survival strategy of a company in the industry. There have been several researches and practices on this topic. However, previous researches are mainly focused on the study of successful cases and some statistical analyses on the relationship between the open innovation and its performance. There are rare researches on the hindrance factors in the practical level. This paper tries to find some hinderance factors for the open innovation in Korean large-scale companies based on the WFGM(Want-Find-Get -Manage) model proposed by Gene Slowinski(2006). Especially this research focused on each processes of open innovation by in-depth interviews for two representative large companies in Korea. From the result of this research we come to know that the critical hindrance factor in the WANT step is the uncertain definition of the necessary technologies for the company. Issues on establishing and maintaining the innovation network are in the FIND step. Technology evaluation, technology introduction channel and technology copying issues are in the GET step. Communication issues, technology feasibility and lack of competition are in the MANAGE step. This paper finds some hindrance factors in each process step of open innovation, which gives some implications for the companies that want to adopt open innovation.
