As web technologies evolve and so-called Web 2.0 technologies appear, collective intelligence is being applied in widespread areas. In general, mass collective intelligence like Wikipedia is created, revised, and managed by anonymous participants in an uncontrolled system. Thus, the knowledge provided by mass collective intelligence may be distorted, and may not be true, which may affect the user acceptance behavior. However, there have been few academic studies that analyzed the factors that affect user acceptance of mass collective intelligence, and their relationships. Under this academic background, we develop a model to examine how mass collective intelligence is accepted by users. The theoretical model is validated through an online survey of the Wikipedia users from three universities in Korea. The results reveal that the users will have positive attitude towards adopting mass collective knowledge when they perceive that the knowledge from mass collective intelligence is useful. We also find that the perceived usefulness of the knowledge is affected by perceived knowledge quality and trust in knowledge contributors. The results also suggest that perceived knowledge quality is determined by perceived level of collaboration, perceived objectivity, and recipient expertise, whereas trust in knowledge contributors is determined by natural propensity to trust and perceived objectivity. Theoretical and practical implications about mass collective knowledge are discussed.

This paper investigates the effect of stress on knowledge creation. The goal stress of resource inadequacy and job stress had negative influences on knowledge creation. However, the cohesion and mastery climate of team had positive influence on knowledge creation. Therefore this paper verifies the moderate role of the cohesion and mastery climate of team on the relationship between stress and knowledge creation. The model developed was tested using data collected from knowledge based industry with 375 members in 69 teams in 12 different firms. A Hierarchical Linear Model (HLM) was used to test the hypotheses generated from the model. Results show that job stress had a negative influence on knowledge creation as we expected but the goal stress didn't. The mastery climate of team affected knowledge creation positively and moderated the relationship between the goal stress and knowledge creation. Furthermore, the team cohesion had a positive influence on knowledge creation. The study provided some implications that practitioners should consider the stress when they design jobs for team members and suggest them the way to manage their job stress when they work.

We are sometimes interacting with people who we know nothing and facing with the difficult task of making decisions involving risk in social network. To reduce risk, the topic of building Web of trust is receiving considerable attention in social network. The easiest approach to build Web of trust will be to ask users to represent level of trust explicitly toward another users. However, there exists sparsity issue in Web of trust which is represented explicitly by users as well as it is difficult to urge users to express their level of trustworthiness. We propose a fuzzy-based inference model for Web of trust using user behavior information in social network. According to the experiment result which is applied in Epinions.com. the proposed model show improved connectivity in resulting Web of trust as well as reduced prediction error of trustworthiness compared to existing computational model.

Many companies today use information systems to maintain competitive advantage and to give immediate responses to customer requests. Over time, however, many of these companies failed to make the most of such information systems because the users stopped utilizing the system. While many reasons offer explanations to the phenomenon, this study analyzes how usage intention of information system can be enhanced by changing the environment and usefulness of the system from the user"s perspective. Active and wide-ranging researches using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) have been carried out on an individual"s tendency to using new technology. But, many of the studies remain focused on improving user intention by enhancing the ease of use and usefulness of the system under PC applications or Enterprise applications. The personalized intranet system is not only bringing about sweeping changes to a company"s information systems environment but also providing users with freedom to design their own working environment, personalization, to Corporate Information Systems (CIS). Results from empirical tests on intra net systems verify that through personalization, a more voluntary information system environment can be created and that by increasing the ease of use and usefulness of the system, users can become more favorable to accepting new technologies and ultimately result in improved usage intention. This study suggests personalization variables and model for implementing a voluntary CIS for information system developers.

Smartphone services seem to be appealing to people worldwide and show rapid growth in mobile service market. Based on the theoretical framework like attachment theory and self-congruity theory, we developed the research model and proposed six hypotheses. An analysis of 113 smartphone service users found that continued use intention in smartphone services is affected by uses' attachment to the service. We also found that the attachment is significantly increased by self-congruity, customization, and perceived usefulness. Our aim was to gain insight into ways of creating an environment that facilitating continued use intention of smartohone services. This study has important implications for academic researchers and practitioners who seek to understand why smartohone service users continuously use their smart phone services. Other practical implications of these findings and future research implications are also discussed.

IT capability is one of the main research topics in MIS area. Given the finding that IT investment does not necessarily contribute to better organizational performance, the concept of IT capability was selected as an alternative antecedent variable for IT"s effect on performance. A number of existing MIS papers have shown that firms with the high level of IT capability lead to a better performance. However, very little research has been done concerning the issue of how the IT capability could be enhanced. Recently, enterprise architecture effort has been emerged as an avenue to better IT management. This study aims to empirically examine the relationship between EA effort and IT capability.

Most companies in the IT service industry have suffered from low profitability although this industry is highly value added, which may result in losing the competitiveness of the industry. The purpose of this study is to identify the influencing factors on the profit improvement rate of IT service projects and suggest how to improve the profit improvement rate, thus recovering the competitiveness of the IT service industry. The 273 IT service projects conducted by an IT service company in Korea during the past three years were analyzed and the project managers who performed these projects responded to the questionnaire developed in this study. The result from the analysis of data collected shows that the influencing factors on the profit improvement rate of IT service projects include scheduling, experience in similar projects, the leadership of project leaders, the level of team skills, relationship with clients, and clients support.

The IT services industry is considered as the leading industry of the ubiquitous age that raises a nation"s overall productivity and efficiency. Therefore, it is receiving increasing attention as the industry that can bring about economic takeoff and successful overseas market entrance for the next generation. In order to achieve successful development, the industry should be competitive and armed with strategies that well demonstrate the characteristics of IT services. Therefore, it is important to explore the competitive factors of the industry for its qualitative development from the perspectives of IT services industry policies and as well as IT services companies. This study categorized IT services into three types-system integration, IT consulting, and IT outsourcing- and then examined the competitive factors of each service type and their relationships with financial and non-financial performances. In conclusion, the current competitiveness of domestic IT services industry is attributed to institutions environment rather than its competitive advantages in technology, quality, know-how, and highly qualified human resources. In order to facilitate the sound growth of the IT industry and seek reasonable market competition, the environment that puts its priority on the improvement of institutions environment and the ability to carry out a project needs to be established. In all, this study can be utilized as an important knowledge for the establishment of polices to foster IT services industry and of strategies that raise competitiveness to maximize the performances of companies.
