This study identifies communication patterns of groups using synchronous text communication me-dium for their group decision-making, and examines how these patterns are associated with creative solutions to problems. Our research suggests that certain communication behavior of groups, when ap-propriately organized. can be of help in enhancing creative production of outcomes. A Qualitative study was conducted on communication patterns based on an analysis of text-based electronic conversation protocols. Specifically this research tried to overcome existing studies on electronic groups by focusing on interactive process of communication among participants. The major study conclusions are: (1) The production of creative outcome may depend on the proc-ess or sequence of discussion among group members with synchronous text communication medium. That is, proper interactive responses and appropriate control of the discussion process are essential to obtain a high level of performance. (2) It is imprortantto make discuss rules based on meta-cognitive and interactive protocols in the early stage. Explicit rules relating to internal group processes as well as communication medium use are even more important to groups with electronic communication me-dium than face-to-face groups.

Recently, as network and computer technologies are growing rapidly, most of business transactions are performed in cyber world. In spite of many advantages. the most concerns in Electronic Commerce are the information security matters, and the cryptosystem has been claimed as one of the proper means to settle this problem. In this paper, a partial encryption/decryption algorithm has been in-troduced to show the efficiency against the conventional method in which all the data are completely encoded. In our proposed scheme, the multimedia data can be efficiently encoded in a short time pro-viding good data security. For example, the MP3 data can be securely protected with 10% encryption in our scheme. Moreover, the shuffling process at the end of partial encryption procedure provides higher level of data security.

The nuclear design analysis requires time-consuming and erroneous model-input preparation, code run, output analysis and Quality assurance process. To reduce human effort and improve design Quality and productivity, Innovative Design Processor (IDP) is being developed. Two basic principles of IDP are the document-oriented design and the web-based design. The document-oriented design is that. if the designer writes a design document called active document and feeds it to a special program, the final document with complete analysis, table and plots is made automatically. The active documents can be written with Microsoft Word or created automatically on the web, which is another framework of IDP. Using the proper mix-up of server side and client side programming under the LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) environment. the design process on the web is modeled as a design wizard stYle so that even a novice designer makes the design document easily. This automation using the IDP is now being implemented for all the reload design of Korea Standard Nuclear Power Plant (KSNP) type PWRs. The introduction of this process will allow large reduction in all reload design efforts of KSNP and provide a platform for design and R&D tasks of KNFC.

While the World-Wide Web offers an incredibly rich base of information. organized as a hypertext it does not provide a uniform and efficient way to retrieve specific information. Therefore. it is needed to develop an efficient web crawler for gathering useful information in acceptable amount of time. In this paper. we studied the order in which the web crawler visit URLs to rapidly obtain more important web pages. We also developed an internet agent for efficient web crawling using hyperlink structure and fitness of hypertext documents. As a result of experiment on a website. it is shown that proposed agent outperforms other web crawlers using BackLink and PageRank algorithm.

It is tried that evaluation areas and items of information system in public sector are derived ration?ally and its weight value can be applied differently to type of information system to enhance validity and objectiveness of measurement in evaluating IS in this research. To obtain the goal of this research, firstly. five sectors - system sector. user sector, organization and management sector, the degree of strategic contribution to IS, and the degree of optimizing re-source in is - are categorized based on broadly reviewing previous theoretical and practical research. Secondly, IS type in public sector is divided into internal operation one and customer oriented one that is object of the IS, and divided into application oriented and IT infrastructure oriented which are influ-ence by IS. Thirdly, evaluation areas and its items are measured by 5 paint scales (Likert summated scales) in addition to analysis of validity and reliability to improve objectiveness of establishing evalu-ation areas and its items. Fourthly, the weight values in the evaluation areas and its items are de?rived by using analytic hierarchy process. According to the results of analysis of weight value through AHP, it were found to be 30.4% to or-ganization and management sector, 25.5% to degree of strategic contribution, 21.0% to user sector, 13.5% to degree of optimization of resource management, and 9.6% to system sector. and, different weight values each of the four IS type are proposed which establishing in this reaearch. The main implications of this study is that the criteria by which IS in public sector can be catego-rized 4 ones is suggested and The weighted evaluation for four types of IS based on the AHP analysis enables proposing an objective evaluation method of IS in public sector for considering individual IS characterics.

The software reliability growth model(SRGM) has been developed in order to estimate such reliability measures as remaining fault number, failure rate and reliability for the developing stage software. Almost of them assumed that the faults detected during testing were evetually removed. Namely, they have studied SRGM based on the assumption that the faults detected during testing were perfectly removed. The fault removing efficiency. however, is imperfect and it is widely known as so in general. It is very difficult to remove detected fault perfectly because the fault detecting is not easy and new error may be introduced during debugging and correcting. Therefore, the fault detecting efficiency may influence the SRGM or cost of developing software. It is a very useful measure for the developing software. much helpful for the developer to evaluate the debugging efficiency, and, moreover, help to additional workloads necessary. Therefore, it is very important to evaluate the effect of imperfect dubugging in point of SRGM and cost, and may influence the optimal release time and operational budget. I extent and study the generally used reliability and cost models to the imperfect debugging range in this paper.

미동록어의 의미 범주 분석을 이용한 복합명사 분해

This paper proposes a method of segmenting compound nouns which include unregistered nouns into a correct combination of unit nouns using characteristics of person's names, loanwords, and location names. Korean person's name is generally composed of 3 syllables, only relatively small number of syllables is used as last names, and the second and the third syllables combination is somewhat restrictive. Also many person's names appear with clue words in compound nouns. Most loanwords have one or more syllables which cannot appear in Korean words, or have sequences of syllables different from usual Korean words. Location names are generally used with clue words designating districts in compound nouns. Use of above characteristics to analyze compound nouns not only makes segmentation more accurate, helps natural language systems use semantic categories of those unregistered nouns. Experimental results show that the precision of our method is approximately 98% on average. The precision of human names and loanwords recognition is about 94% and about 92% respectively.

Identifying validated risk factors in software risk management is imperative for project managers. Although validated risk lists were provided by previous researchers, risk list associated with software project performance areas was not provided as yet. This paper represents a first step toward understanding risk lists by various project performance areas (time, cost, and Quality) to help project managers alleviating the possibility of software project failure. Four simultaneous exploratory surveys were conducted with 29 experienced software project managers. Three different risk factor ranking sets for each project performance area were compared with the risk ranking, which was provided without clarifying specific project performance areas. The risk lists and their corresponding perceived importance were different from previous research results. This implies that identifying risk factors for specific project performance areas can provide additional information for project managers. We concluded by discussing implications of our finds for both research and improving risk management practice.

This paper surveyed 30 system designers and developers who had been participating in a project for five months to examine the usefulness of design artifacts for object-oriented system development. A set of nine requirement and design documents was selected in consideration of the IEEE guidelines. Overall the respondents appeared to agree that the artifacts were useful for system development. On the other hand, the contribution of design artifacts to maintenance was rated lower due to the frequent changes over the iterative process. Of the artifacts, considered more useful were use case specifications, UI design and operation specifications. The respondents were the most reluctant to write test cases. Designers did not like to document more details in the design artifacts than did developers. A future study is required to determine the economics and change management of documentation.

The two main purposes of this paper are to 1) investigate critical components of university information systems for information resources management, 2) develop a comprehensive framework model of university information systems for e-Business Era. Through a literature review and by employing group decision making techniQues with managers of K University. critical components for developing university information systems were identified. The critical components of university information systems are 1) academic affaires, 2) general administration. (3) research administration. (4) information services. (5) management support, (6) cyber education. (7) knowledge management, (8) e-library, (9) mobile service. and (10) IT infrastructures. In the second stage. by employing IT experts in K University and other institutes. a comprehensive framework of university information systems for e-Business era was developed. The comprehensive framework shows that major components for university information resources management are (1) information infrastructure, (2) common operating environments. (3) applications/information services. The results of this study expect to help managers. who are in charge of university information systems. plan to develop information systems based on the framework proposed in this paper.

This study was empirically performed to demonstrate the development propensity and Quality of the public software projects in Korea. The sample employed in this study contains 168 auditing reports on 107 public software projects which were carried out in the period of 1998 to 2003. The important findings of this study can be summarized as follows. The Quality issue in the development process is getting more important with the lapse of time. In addition, the importance of end users' conveniency increases from year to year. Although the Pareto Principle(20 : 80 principle) is not applied strictly, most problems are caused by a few items. There are many inductive loop detectors under the highways in Korea. Among the other detectors, some are image detectors. Almost all image detectors are focused one or two lane of the road and are measuring traffic information. This paper propOses to an algorithm for detecting traffic information automatically from CCTV camera images installed on the highway. The information which is counted in one lane or two contains some critical errors by occlusion frequently in case of passing larger vehicles. In this paper, we use a tracking algorithm in which the detection area include all lanes, then the traffic informations are collected from the vehicles individually using difference images in this detection area. This tracking algorithm is better than lane by lane detecting algorithm. The experiment have been conducted two different real road scenes for 20 minutes. For the experiments, the images are provided with CCTV camera which was installed at Kiheung Interchange upstream of Kyongbu highway, and video recording images at Chungkye Tunnel. For image processing, images captured by frame-grabber board 30 frames per second, 640×480 pixels resolution and 256 gray-levels to reduce the total amount of data to be interpreted.

By the developing of Internet, the environments of the company have rapidly been changed. Especially, managers in the Internet shoppingmall have been try to provide excellent e-Services to their customers. e-Service is defined comprised of all interactive services that are delivered on the Internet using advanced telecommunications, information, and multimedia technologies. but according to study of e-Satisty.com[2000]. customer service through internet is still neither effective nor efficient and poor service will impact on company's profit but excellent service can improve their value and Quality of the service or product. In order to customer-oriented e-Services, this study suggested the QFD linked with e-Service Quality model for the Internet shoppingmall service system, which can help determine design characteristics being relevant to customer's e-Service Quality requirements. this hybrid model have two stages. In the first stage, we do measure service Quality and find priorities of service Quality attribute by purchase process. and in the second stage, on the basis of priority of e-Service Quality attributes, we find design characteristics to maximize customer satisfaction. From this study, we provide internet shoppingmall managers with the implications for improvement of service Quality, measuring Quality of e-service, providing design characteristics for customer-oriented service quality.

This paper presents case studies on database quality using an extended database quality model developed by Korea Database Promotion Center. which shall be called KDPC2003. The model is applied to evaluate two kinds of databases; one is an operational database. the other is an information service database. The purpose of this research is two-folded. One is to evaluate database quality and assess current status of database quality management; the other is to assess usefulness of KDPC2003 and to propose ideas for its augmentation. The findings in this study will provide basic facts to test database quality evaluation models.
