In Northeast Asia area, first class cities like Beijing in China, Seuol in Korea, and Tokyo in Japan play the most important roles in tourism development and sub regional cooperation. Beijing (BE), Seoul (S) and Tokyo (T) together form a so-called BEST spatial structure for northeast Asia tourism organization. This paper analyzed the hierarchy system and axis-spoke structure, and some trends for the future of BEST area.

The purposes of this paper are to prospect the future of green-tourism in Gyeongbuk since 2002. For rural area and farmers the advent of green-tourism brought great change and opportunities, transforming the area from a traditional rural society to one focusing on environmental agriculture and tourism. First of all, citizens are not likely to bear the large burden of sacrificing their time for more income much longer. Instead, they like to enjoy their life at the expense of wage. So, the five day work system will certainly be a good chance to develop green-tourism. The entrance of green-tourism is a really good opportunity for the rural society. The demand of domestic tourism will completely change our traditional tourism pattern in Korea from non-lasting to lasting tourism, from person to family, from seeing to experiencing, and from culture type tourism to an agricultural pattern. Citizens especially will change their lifestyle to a green lifestyle, so the demand of tourism which is closely linked with agriculture and environment will increase in the near future. There are many tasks and limits to solve green-tourism. We easily can notice the absence of distinction, commercialization, strategic public information and marketing strategy. The government also needs to carry out a lot of tasks such as establishment of laws, institutional structure, and continuous development of educational programs for the farmers.

This study aims to suggest alternatives to promoting green tourism. There are various attempts to increase farm household income which is composed of farm income and non-farm income. Especially in the era of WTO/DDA, FTA, non-farm income is more important than farm income. Therefore the Gyeongbuk province is trying to making rural tourism for increasing non-farm income. I suggest some alternatives to promoting rural villages through green tourism. First, I have to develop related program based on regional characteristic, location itself. Second, I am concerned with alluring strategy of rural community tourists through development of differentiated contents and diverse products and service. Third, the most important thing might be fostering leader through businessmen training program.

The purpose of this study was to present a strategy for travel agencies to cope with the change of airline’s e-business marketing. In sum, there are three strategies to cope with issues such as reduction and/or discontinuance of the commission that airlines provide for travel agencies, internet air-tickets, and airlines’ sales reinforcement of e-tickets. In other words, three strategies are i) travel agencies’ strategic affiliation, ii) development of differentiated travel products iii) travel agencies’ strategies of convergence and divergence. First, as for travel agencies’ strategic affiliation, there are M&A, consortium, business affiliation, etc., second, travel agencies can make the market diverged by developing differentiated travel products and develop profitably effective products by prescribing a differential level of society for their target market. Finally, travel agencies should make a good choice from either exclusive transactions with one or two target airlines under the situation given, or a divergence strategy dealing with a number of airlines.

Recently, many of excursion tours about Japanese tourists in abroad are not operated by Japanese tour operators but by foreign tour operators, because it seems that they evade the application of Japanese travel law system. A contract for a tour which many of Japanese tour operators and travel agents concludes with a Traveler shall be subject to the provisions of Standard General Terms and Conditions. But to be bound by the Standard General Terms and Conditions makes limitations for developing travel “products”. However, I am anxious about if Japanese travel industry will staying such Japanese standards, international competitive power of Japanese travel industry will be declining.
