21세기에 들어 전통문화의 단절과 재구성에 관한 논의가 활발히 전개되면서, 문자에 의존하지 않는 민족 예술의 전승 양상과 상징 체계 형성 방식에 대한 학문적 관심이 더욱 증대되고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제의식을 바탕으로 오르도스 구루가의 문화적 특징을 심층적으로 고찰 하는 데 목적을 두었다. 분석 결과, 구루가는 의례적 실천 속에서 공동체의 위계 질서와 규범을 상징적으로 재현하며, 반복적이고 정형화된 서사적 가창을 통해 집단의 가치관을 체화하는 기 능을 수행하고 있었다. 또한 선율의 반복과 리듬의 유동성은 구성원 간 정서 공유와 감정 구조 화에 기여하였고, 구술을 통한 전승 방식은 공동체 기억과 정체성을 지속적으로 재생산하는 핵 심 메커니즘으로 작동하였다. 이러한 분석을 토대로 본 연구는 구루가를 단순히 전통 장가의 하 위 범주로 환원하기보다, 공동체의 감정 질서와 정체성을 역동적으로 구성해 가는 ‘생성적 문화 텍스트’로 이해할 수 있음을 제시하였다. 이를 통해 민족음악학과 문화인류학의 접경 지대에서 몽골 음악문화에 대한 이론적 논의를 확장하고자 하였으며, 향후에는 지역적 편중이나 개별 사례 중심의 한계를 보완하기 위해 비교문화적 접근과 디지털 기술을 활용한 응용 연구로의 확장이 요구된다.

In the twenty-first century, the rupture and reconfiguration of non-written forms of traditional ethnic arts have become increasingly visible, prompting greater scholarly interest in how systems of transmission and symbolism operate within communities. Within this context, the present study investigates Guruga, a vocal tradition of the Ordos Mongol community, in order to illuminate its cultural functions and significance. The analysis demonstrates that Guruga acts as a symbolic medium, reproducing communal hierarchies and norms through ritualized performance. Its patterned lyrics, recurrent melodic designs, and flexible rhythmic structures work collectively to internalize shared values and emotional orientations. At the same time, oral transmission proves central to the preservation of memory and identity, underscoring that Guruga is not simply a variant of narrative song but a dynamic cultural text that continually reaffirms communal belonging. Positioned at the intersection of ethnomusicology and cultural anthropology, this study aims to expand theoretical perspectives on Mongolian musical heritage. Looking ahead, further research should seek to overcome regional constraints and consider avenues for digital documentation and cross-regional comparison.
