It is essential for the defense technology-based companies to acquire new high-technology information before its competitors acquire and utilize it in order to maintain its competence and continuous 'open innovation'. This study is focus on the design of a conceptual model for the 「Defense Technology Information Knowledge Management System(DTIKMS)」, which enables the effective management of defense technology information at management level of a company on the defense industry. For this purpose, we design the following two subsystems. First, we design the 「Defense Technology Information Management System(DTIMS)」, which is the core subsystem of the「DTIKMS」. Second, we also design the 「Defense Knowledge Management System(DKMS)」, which helps 「DTIMS」for increasing utilization of the defense technology information.

This paper is to solve the technological collisions of detailed-technologies. Technological collisions cause defects and accidents. So, it is very important for R&D project teams to find out the causes and solve them. We also have to find them out before projects are launched. However most of the R&D project teams fail to do so. R&D project teams mostly assume that technological modules of R&D project are free of technological errors. Most of the existing R&D project process models are designed with the error-free assumption. If the R&D projects are processed with this kind of assumption, the projects are highly likely to fail. Therefore, before beginning the R&D project, we would design the setting 5stages on technological modules by using the process of 「Conjoint Analysi s」. Through these 5 stages, the accuracy of project completion can be raised up by screening unaccomplished modules.

Industry's Independent Research and Development(IR&D) is research and development initiated and conducted by contractors at their own risks and funding. IR&D system itself in Korea could be beneficial to both government and defense industries. However, it has not been widely used by defense industries for a couple of decades due to mainly Korean-specific government's designating system. The system permits one or two government's designating defense industries by defense business areas to participate in defense acquisition programs. Defense contractors have had little motive to conduct IR&D, because they have enjoyed their monopolistic or duopolistic privilege. Since the designating system in Korea is scheduled to be abolished from the first day of 2009, IR&D system is considered by many defense companies to have preemptive position in the defense acquisition program. This paper reviews the justification of IR&D system in the future competitive defense market. It suggests government's supporting actions to encourage and facilitate IR&D including expansion of the subject-matter, facilitation of accessing long- and mid-term acquisition information, public notice for fair competition, government's support for test and evaluation, high reward for high risk IR&D, efficient R&D cost management and the detailed specification of IR&D related procedure.

After 20 years of the enforcement of the designated system of the first and second defense company, it had the merits of the prevention of dual investment and the concentration of technology development, and so on, but it had also the demerits of the prevention of penetration of new competitive company. Here, the follow-up measures after the abrogation of the designated system of the first and second defense company are studies to make the best system of business limiting of enterprises by defense industry of Korea. This paper suggested that the reasonable guideline and legal formalities in the system of business limiting of enterprises by defense industry.

The importance of logistic has been recognized through a lot of wars. Even though lots of logisticians have studied many methodologies to interpret the phenomena of logistic, many people have not recognized Logistics as a science domain. However, we think that logistic is a science. The purpose of this paper is to try to identify the possibility as a science of logistic.
