As the boundary of MNCs enlarged, interest and demand for MNCs’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has risen continuously. The opportunity and demand for CSR are more prevalent in emerging countries, due to greater poverty, environmental degradation, and institutional governance issues. Especially in China, demand for CSR has continuously risen from the government and locals over the last two decades. In this study, we attempts to answer the question that has received insufficient attention: What are the factors that influence CSR activity of Korean MNCs in China? We suggest that MNCs' CSR in emerging country is influenced by several factors: institutional motives and resource capability. The results show that business environment, foreign ownership, financial asset and physical asset influenced the level of CSR. The results also suggest that the purpose of market enterance and reputational asset did not influenced the level of CSR.

Knowing that the Korea focuses on medical service as an engine for economic breakthrough, the present study aims at suggesting the need for business reconstitution of medical service oversea expansion. We investigate inbound and outbound overseas expansion types through obtained secondary data. The research insists that the Government should develop integrated governance structure in order to ensure the appropriability and to stimulate the company activities. In other vein, stakeholders in medical service industry must endeavor to identify and to develop their own core competences. All these strategic efforts may help in strengthening public confidence of Korean medical services in long-term. Therefore, the activities relevant to strengthening public-private partnership(PPP) would be the crucial factor to cope with turbulent and uncertain overseas market. Based on the above discussion, this studys suggests the implications and limitations. Then, we end by suggesting other avenues for future research.

The business success of ACE Company Limited in Vietnam which Korean SME (Small and medium enterprise) invested, is studied. So far Vietnam played a role as a production base for Korean companies so that they can produce labour-intensive goods with low wage. However, ACE Company Ltd. has established a branch in Vietnam which develops a new product called SIGNATURE for which high technical skills are needed. Those products are manufactured in Vietnam and exported to mainland China. Thanks to the FTA (Free Trade Agreement) between Vietnam and mainland China, export to China is more price-competitive from Vietnam than from Korea. Factors of business success in Vietnam are as follows; First, plan was well prepared in advance. For example, ACE CEO stayed for 1 year in order to establish ACE Company Limited branch in Vietnam. and he himself directed factory building and checked market situation. Secondly, ACE company utilized a FTA successfully and made packaging machine which has a good brand and quality. They sticked to an independent packaging brand named SIGNATURE and did a marketing by participating in various types of global exhibitions. Thirdly, They managed Vietnamese workers efficiently and had a close relationship with home company in Korea. As a result of these efforts, all employees including Vietnamese employees had an ownership of the company. Furthermore voluntary leadership of Korean managers and perfect internal control contributed to the success.

This study examines the issue of how export market orientation (EMO) influence export performance in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) context. In particular, this study explore the different impacts of individual components of EMO on export performance. Using data from 187 Korean exporting SMEs, the finding shows that export market oriented SMEs might enhance their export performance. In detail, export market intelligence generation and export market responsiveness are positively related to export performance for SMEs, while export market intelligence dissemination is not related to export performance. This study suggests that EMO could be powerful in export success, but it is important that the roles of export market orientation could be differ in individual components of EMO.
This paper investigates the following three questions. ⑴What are the factors that affect the FTA utilization and firm performance by Chinese firms? ⑵What impact do these factors have on FTA utilization and firm performance? ⑶What is the impact of FTA utilization on firm performance? We set up hypotheses through the investigation of precedent studies, and do an empirical analysis using questionnaires. The main findings in this study are as follows. ⑴The global orientation among the firm-characteristic factors especially have the most positive effect on FTA utilization and firm performance. ⑵Among the FTA utilization capability factors, all factors except the ability to determine the country of origin have positive impacts on the FTA utilization and firm performance. ⑶All the factors except the spaghetti bowl effect among the external environmental factors have positive effects on FTA utilization and firm performance. ⑷ Finally, FTA utilization factors have significant positive effects on firm performance. However, the application of preference tariff has no statistical significance on export concentration.
The focus of this investigation is to analyse the relationship between financial stress index and industrial production index with monthly data from 2000 to 2016. The results of the linear Engle-Granger 2-stage cointegration test show no common trend between the variables, but the results from nonlinear cointegration test reflecting the characteristics of the estimated residuals, including the trends, suggest that there is a long-run relationship. The results of this empirical analysis have two following implications. First, the cointegration test with 2-stage estimation procedure should reflect the characteristics of the residuals. Second, it is useful to provide an indicator of the financial situation of the individual economy. Specifically, the results of empirical analysis, including the nonlinearity, suggest that it is necessary to expand the appropriate analytical models to be used in indexing and forecasting of individual economic conditions.
