This study investigates the influence of international oil price on the Industry Trade in Korea. This study was analyzed using cointegration and vector error correction models. International oil prices on exports seems to be a positive relationship. Depending on the rise in international oil prices means an increase in exports of Korea exports. Impact on international oil prices when exporting light industry appears to be the most high-impact, IT industry has the lowest influence. In addition, international oil prices in the producer price positive relationship respectively.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the two renegotiations of Korea-US FTA from the perspectives of Negotiation Structure and Negotiation Process. In spite of unfavorable negotiation structure in the two renegotiations, Korea had some chances to improve her negotiation power but actually failed to do it. The reason is that Korea did not pay attention to the process of internal negotiations and, as a result, renegotiations were proceeded from the perspective of external negotiations. As a result, Korea has paid lots of social cost in the procedure of ratification. Policy implications can be summarized as follows: 1) Internal negotiation process can improve negotiation power even in the worst negotiation structure; 2) It is necessary for office of the minister for trade in Korea to be revised in the way to support internal negotiations and to take advantage of their result in external negotiations; 3) The desirable attitude for renegotiation is "Recognize the possibility of renegotiation, but control the process".
Impacts of Ocean Shipping Reform Act(1998) on Liner Shipping Freight Rates

Wang (2006) and many studies argued that the Ocean Shipping Reform Act (1998) in the US allowed confidential shipping contracts between shippers and carriers and it would actually act to lessen the market power of the shipping conferences (or cartels) in the international container shipping industry. A conjecture following such arguments is that the price would fall, reflecting the new competition in the market. In this article, we want to empirically test the conjecture: the OSRA (1998), if effective, would move freight rates downward. To do so, we collect data and test the hypothesis especially on two US-related international shipping routes: Trans-Atlantic and Trans-Pacific routes. Two types of specifications are considered: Times series OLS and ARIMA models. Especially, the ARIMA results show that the new Act lowers the price at least on some routes. Especially the effect turns out to be very significant on the eastbound leg of the Trans-Atlantic route.
환율변동이 우리나라 기업가치에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

This study has analyzed the existence and the determinants of the exchange rate exposure of Korea nonfinancial companies. Applying linear and nonlinear models, this paper estimates the exchange rate exposure and its determinants of Korean nonfinancial companies. The data used in this paper are the exchange rate, the stock returns as well as the financial indexes of nonfinancial companies listed in Korea Stock Exchange. Monthly data were used in estimating the exchange rate exposure. And yearly data were used in its determinants analysis for the period between January of 2000 and December of 2010. The estimation results are summarized as following; First, in the case of estimating the exchange rate exposure, the nonlinear model shows higher proportion of the number of companies that are exposed significantly to the exchange rate fluctuations when compared to the linear model. Second, in the case of estimating the determinants of the exchange rate exposure, the scale of company mainly affects the level of exposure.

There is a demand for specialization in many industries, and there is more demand for specialization in semiconductor industry due to financial issue and heavy risk. As semiconductor business needs huge equipments for manufacturing, so it is not easy to be competitive for semiconductor company by doing all the processes of design, manufacturing and packaging in one company. The purpose of this study is to verify whether TSMC's resources were critical for their global business success. TSMC has specialized in foundry business, still ranked No.1 in global Foundry market. The article suggested four resources (alliance, human capital, AMT, international experience) to analyze TSMC's success. Finally, the paper explained the case of TSMC based on their activities and related materials, and suggested 4 resources were really helpful for their global business success. Furthermore, this case study of TSMC can help foundries to develop their competitiveness as many foundries still remained in primitive stage.
부산·경남지역 수출제조기업의 이해당사자, GSCM 관행 및 통합의 관계에 관한 연구

The object of this study is to investigate relationship between stakeholders, GSCM (Green Supply Chain Management) practices and GSC(Green Supply Chain) integration of exporting manufacturers in Busan and Gyengnam region. To accomplish this object, we suggested the hypotheses that firm's stakeholders(domestic primary stakeholders, international stakeholders, firm's internal stakeholders, and government) affect GSCM practices(internal, supplier, customer, and technology GSCM) adoption, GSCM practices have effect on GSC integration(operation and technology integration). The subject of this study is Korean exporting manufacturers in Busan and Kyeongam province. We used survey instrument to collect data. The analysis methodology adopted PLS(Partial Least Square). The results is as follows: Firm's stakeholders have a partial positive relationship with GSCM practices. Customer and technology GSCM have effect on GSC integration. A positive relationship also exits between supplier GSCM and technology integration.
