This study used the direct investment data drawn from 20 provinces and cities in China from 2009 to 2015 to analyze the determinants of Korean firms' FDI location choice in China. It was chosen by the investment amount for each province and city in China as a dependent variable and the determinants of potential FDI location choice were defined by the market size, labor cost, labor quality, social infrastructure, firm agglomeration level, and technology level as independent variables. An empirical test was conducted using a panel data regression analysis. As a result, it is shown that Korean firms tend to invest directly in areas with high market size, low wage level and high quality labor when they decide the location of FDI in China. In particular, the per capita GRDP variable indicating the market size of the region is more important factor than the low labor cost in determining the location of FDI in China. On the bases of the results of this study, it will contribute to the decision making of Korean firms' FDI location choice in China. in addition, it can be used as a reference for establishing policies on FDI and will help clarify the relationship between foreign capital and regional economic growth.

This study aims to identify key drivers which affect inter-firm rivalry of 3rd party logistics(3PL) companies, i.e. the likelihood of a company performing an action. For this, this paper adopts the awareness-motivation-capability (AMC) perspective and knowledge-based theory. Specifically, this paper examines the association between the awareness-motivation-capability perspective and the inter-firm rivalry, and investigates the moderating role of 3PLsʼ knowledge on the association between the awareness-motivation-capability and the likelihood of an action. Results show that the extent to which 3PL companies possess greater levels of awareness, motivation and capability may encourage companies to take an action against its rivals. The results also show that the positive effects of awareness, motivation and capability of a 3PL company are enhanced when the company possesses high levels of knowledge. This finding implies that knowledge may play a moderating role on the association between the awareness-motivation-capability and the likelihood of action by a focal firm. The research findings provide 3PL managers with a strategic insight into the identification of critical drivers which affect inter-firm rivalry of 3PL companies and the way to effectively manage the competition dynamics.

This study examines the nonlinear asymmetric relationship between the real exchange rates and crude oil prices in Korea and Taiwan with threshold cointegration model. We found the evidences in both countries that the asymmetric cointegration relationship exists between crude oil prices and real exchange rates, and that the speeds of asymmetric adjustments can vary depending on the directions of adjustments in the tests of asymmetric error-correction model. The test of an asymmetric error-correction model finds rises of crude oil prices indicating short-term adjustments to eliminate negative deviations between the variables. The real exchange rates are weakly exogeneous to the crude oil prices in this model, and we also find evidences of unidirectional Granger-causality relationships from real exchange rates to crude oil prices also in both countries.

Singapore has witnessed rapid economic growths for a couple of decades due to the inward foreign direct investment. To accomplish this purpose, Singapore tries to transform a small island into the international business hub in East Asia. Concomitantly, Singapore government implements strategy to construct this country as the international dispute resolution hub during last couple of decades. In line with this strategy, Singapore has established Singaporian dispute resolution system, such as Singapore court annexed mediation system, Community Resolution Center, Singapore Mediation Center(SMC), Singapore International Mediation Center(SMIC), Singapore International Mediation Institute(SIMI), Singapore International Arbitration Centre(SIAC), and Singapore International Commercial Court(SICC). Furthermore, Singapore provides an unique Arb-Med-Arb service to disputants. The spectrum of dispute resolution institutions indicates that Singapore is expected to implement a vision of multi-door court house in Singapore.
