본논문은 우리나라 교육 연극 분야의 선구자, 황정현 교수에게 교육연극 분야는 과연 그의 전체 연구영 역 중 어떤 입지점을 갖고 있는지를 가늠하고, 아울러 황교수가 후학들에게 기대하는 연구 뱡향이 무엇 일 지를 찾아보는 일에 단초를 제공하는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 황교수의 국어교육 관련 연구와 더불어 아동문학 및 문학교육 분야의 연구 경향은 과연 교육 연극 연구와 어떤 연관성을 지닌 지 살펴본 것을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 황교수는 초등 국어교육의 성과를 진작시키기 위한 방법론에 대하여 남다른 관심을 갖고 있었다 는 점이다. 곧 국어교육 이론을 다듬는 일보다 그 이론의 성과를 학습자에게 극대화시킬 방법론 추구에 더 비중을 두었다는 점이다. 그리고 그 이상적 방법론 구현을 진지하게 추구하는 연장 선상에서 황교수 가 개척해낸 교육연극 분야 연구와 맞닿아 있다는 점이다. 둘째, 아동 문학 연구와 초등 문학 교육 연구에서는 학습자의 경험을 통해 의미를 발견하게 하고 능력을 계발하는 것으로 나아가야한다는 지론과 더불어, 대상 아동의 발달도에 걸맞는 적절한 수준의 내용을 다뤄야한다는 진지한 메타적 성찰의 자세야말로 황교수를 교육연극 연구로 나아가게 하고 지속시키는 데 주요 동인으로 작용한 것이라고 볼 수 있다 이제 이 동인들이 황교수의 교육연극 연구성과에서 어떻게 구체화되고 어떻게 새로운 조망을 제시했는 지를 분석 확인하는 일은 교육연극학 분야의 후학들에게 미룬다.

This paper aims to assess the position of educational drama within the entire research domain of Professor Hwang Jeonghyeon, a pioneer in the field of educational drama in Korea, and to explore the research directions Professor Hwang envisions for his successors. To this end, the paper summarizes the examination of the relationship between Professor Hwang's research in Korean language education and his studies in children's literature and literature education, and how these relate to educationa... Firstly, it is noted that Professor Hwang had a particular interest in methodologies to enhance the outcomes of elementary Korean language education. He placed more emphasis on pursuing methodologies that could maximize the effects of Korean language education theories on learners, rather than on refining the theories themselves. This pursuit is closely connected to the field of educational drama research pioneered by Professor Hwang, as it represents an extension of his serious quest for ideal ... Secondly, in the research on children's literature and elementary literature education, the principle that learners should discover meaning through their experiences and develop their abilities, along with a serious metacognitive attitude that content should be appropriate to the developmental level of the target children, has been a major driving force in leading and sustaining Professor Hwang’s involvement in educational drama research. The task of analyzing and confirming how these driving forces have been concretized in Professor Hwang's educational drama research achievements and how they have offered new perspectives is left to the future scholars in the field of educational drama.

본 논문은 우리나라 교육연극의 초석을 다지는 데 절대적 기여를 한 故황정현의 타계 10주기를 맞아, 교 육자이자 연구자로서가 아닌 실천가이자 개척자로서 그의 면모와 업적을 돌아보고 그가 추구하였던 비 전과 그가 남긴 유산의 의미를 논의하고자 한다. 황정현은 서울교육대학교 교수로 재직하면서 교육연극 의 양대 축의 하나인 교육 분야를 대표하여 한국교육연극학회 설립을 주도하였고, 3~4대 회장을 역임 하면서 연수 및 아카데미 신설, <교육연극학> 학술지의 창간, 서울교대 대학원 특별과정(1년)의 신설 등 을 추진하였으며, 그 성과를 근거로 국내 최초로 서울교대 대학원에 교육연극전공 석사학위를 설치하는 등 오늘날 교육연극이 성장하기까지의 핵심 기반을 직접 축조하였다. 본 논문은 그가 학회에 기여한 업 적, 서울교대 교육연극전공의 설립 및 정착 과정에서의 노력, 그리고 이러한 성과들을 이루어 낼 수 있었 던 비전과 동력을 논의하고, 교육연극에 남긴 그의 유산을 물려받은 동료와 후학들이 앞으로 넘겨받아 야 할 과제에 대한 논의로 마무리하였다.

Marking the 10th anniversary of the demise of the late Hwang Chung-hyun, who made a prominent contribution to laying the foundation for Korea's educational drama, this article aims to look back on his aspects and achievements not just as an educator and researcher but as a practitioner and pioneer, and discuss the visions and meanings of his legacy has left behind. As a professor at Seoul National University of Education, Hwang Chung-hyun led the establishment of the Korea Association for Drama/Theatre Education representing the field of education, one of the two pillars of drama education. While serving as the 3rd and 4th president, he established new teacher training and academies, founded the first publishing of academic journal <Educational Drama Studies>, promoted the establishment of a special course(one year) at the Graduate School of Seoul National University of Education, and based on its successful results, he established the first ever master's degree program in drama education in Korea at Seoul National University of Education. In essence, he built the core foundations for the growth of today’s drama education in Korea. This paper discusses his contributions to KADE, his efforts in the establishment and settlement of the Seoul National University of Education's drama education major, and his vision and the driving force behind these achievements, and concludes with discussions on the tasks that his colleagues and students who inherited his legacy in drama education must take over in the future.

이 연구는 한국 교육연극의 기틀을 마련한 황정현이 후학들에게 남긴 스승으로서의 영향과 그 후학들 이 가고 있는 길을 살펴보고 남겨진 과제를 고찰한 것이다. 연구 방법은 황정현의 문헌과 살아온 길을 살펴보고 후학들의 인터뷰와 설문을 통해 스승으로서의 면모를 해석하였다. 그가 설립한 서울교육대학 교 교육연극 전공 학생 309명의 현황을 조사하고, 발행된 학위 논문 163편의 주제, 지도교수, 논문 내용 을 통해 후학들의 연구 성과를 정리하여 후학들의 동향을 분석하였다. 또한 이를 토대로 후학들에게 남 겨진 과제를 찾아보았다. 스승 황정현은 교육연극을 통해 아이들이 자발적으로 몰입하여 교육활동에 참 여하고 그 속에서 창의성을 길러줄 수 있는 교수 방법을 찾기 위해 노력한 교육자, 교육연극 및 국어교육 뿐만 아니라 다양한 영역에서 연구하고 후학을 양성한 개척자, 인생의 스승이자 삶의 동반자인 멘토로 서 후학들에게 많은 영향을 주었다. 그의 후학들은 교육을 보다 생생한 학습자 중심의 활동으로 만들기 위한 고민에서 출발하여 각자의 역할과 관심 분야에 따라 연구 영역을 확장하고 있다. 무엇보다 기존 연 구의 대부분을 차지하고 있는 사례 연구와 함께 이론적 역량을 강화하여 교육연극의 교육활동을 뒷받침 할 수 있는 학문적 연구를 병행해야 한다. 그리하여 교육연극의 가치를 증명하고 행동으로 실천할 수 있 는 제2, 제3의 황정현이 나와야 할 것이다. 치열한 경쟁주의와 디지털화로 예술·인문 교육이 소홀히 되 는 이 시대에 인간의 본능과 일치되는 예술로서 사람과의 소통과 협력을 도모하는 교육연극의 가치와 필요성을 이해하여 교육활동으로 펼쳐가고 이를 위한 행정적 기반을 마련하는 것은 후학들의 중요한 몫이다.

This study examines the influence of Hwang Jung-hyun, who laid the foundation for Korean Drama of education, on his successors as a teacher, the paths they are taking, and the challenges that remain. The research methodology examined Hwang Jung-hyun's literature and life, and analyzed the aspects of his teaching through interviews and questionnaires with his students. He investigated the current status of 309 students majoring in Drama of education at Seoul National University of Education, which he founded, and analyzed the trends of his successors by summarizing their research achievements through the topics, advisors, and contents of 163 published theses. I also looked at the challenges left for future generations. Master Hwang Jung-hyun has influenced many of his students as an educator who strived to find a teaching method that allows children to participate in educational activities and cultivate their creativity through educational theater; as a pioneer who researched and trained students in various fields, not only in Drama of education and Korean language education; and as a mentor who is a teacher and life partner. His successors have expanded their research areas according to their roles and interests, starting with the challenge of making education a more vibrant, learner-centered activity. In addition to case studies, which constitute the majority of existing research, academic research should be conducted to strengthen theoretical capacities to support the educational activities of educational theater. Therefore, there should be a second and third Hwang Jung-hyun who can prove the value of educational theater and put it into action. In this era when arts and humanities education is being neglected due to fierce competitiveness and digitalization, it is an important task for future generations to understand the value and necessity of educational theater, which promotes communication and cooperation with people as an art that is in line with human instincts, to spread it as an educational activity and lay an administrative foundation for it.

이 연구의 목적은 리처드 셰크너의 연행 이론과 연구자의 참여관찰을 바탕으로 제15회 품앗이공연예술 축제의 의미를 고찰하는 데 있다. 공연예술계의 성장과 발전을 위해 축제가 하는 역할이 매우 크기 때문 이다. 경기도 화성시 민들레연극마을에서 진행한 품앗이공연예술축제는 지역 공연예술 중에서 주목받 고 있는데, 이 축제의 의미가 무엇인지 살피고자 한다. 첫째, 언어 텍스트 층위의 의미는 축제 주제인, ‘전통’, ‘환경’, ‘평화’가 공연과 체험 행사로 구체화하였다 는 점이다. 둘째, 연희 텍스트 층위의 첫 번째 의미는 차원 높은 공연 미장센에서 찾을 수 있고, 두 번째 의미는 공연예술과 다른 분야 전문인과의 만남에서 발견된다. 셋째, 공연 텍스트 층위의 첫 번째 의미는 관객과의 즉흥적인 소통에서 나타나고, 두 번째 의미는 공연 텍스트의 연장과 감동의 지속에서 찾을 수 있으며, 세 번째 의미는 공연 텍스트가 마을 전체로 확대되었다는 데 있다. 넷째, 문화적 컨텍스트 층위 에서도 여러 의미가 나타났다. 먼저, 민들레연극마을이 새로운 분위기의 축제 공간으로 거듭났다. 다음으로, 베이비씨어터의 공급 부족이 해결될 가능성이 있다. 세 번째로, 축제를 통해 마을 공동체의 부활이 이루어지고 있다. 네 번째로, 아시아 시민 의식이 형성되는 계기가 마련되고 있다. 다섯 번째로, 경기도 화성 지역 공연예술가들의 협업이 강화되고 있다. 우리나라 지역 공연예술축제와 관련한 연구 활동이 여러 차원에서 연구되길 바란다. 그리고 공연예술인 이 예술 활동에 집중할 수 있도록 지원하는 국가나 지방자치단체 등 공적 기관에 관한 연구도 이루어지 길 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the meaning of the 15th Pumashi Performing Arts Festival based on Richard Schechner's performance theory and researcher's participatory observation. The role of festivals for the growth and development of the performing arts world is very large. The Pumashi Performing Arts Festival, which had held at Dandelion Theater Village in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, is being talked about as a local performing arts attracting attention. I want to examine what the festival's capabilities are. First, the meaning of the language text level is that the festival themes, ‘tradition’, ‘environment’, and ‘peace’, were embodied as performances and experience programs. Second, the first meaning of the performance text level can be found in the high-level performance mise-en-scène. The second meaning appears in the festival performance and the meeting of athletes. Third, the first meaning of the performance text level appears in spontaneous communication with the audience. The second meaning could be found in the extension of the performance text and the continuation of emotion. Fourth, several meaning also appeared at the cultural context level. First, the Dandelion Theater Village has been reborn as a festival space with a new atmosphere. Second, the demand for baby theatre is increasing in our society, but the supply is still insufficient, which is likely to be solved if financial support is expanded. Third, the revival of the village community was taking place through the festival. Fourth, there was an opportunity for the formation of Asian citizenship. Fifth, collaboration with performing artists in Hwaseong was strengthening. Research activities related to local performing arts festivals are insufficient, so follow-up research is needed. I hope that many researcher could study the value of the performing arts festival at various levels. I also hope that the performing arts world, such as theater, dance, and music, will develop and expand research on the public positions such as the state and local governments.

최근 초고령사회로의 급속한 이행 및 외로움과 사회적 고립이 시대적 화두로 대두되면서, 노년세대를 위한 문화예술활동 지원의 필요성이 다각적으로 강조되고 있다. 지난 20여 년간 노인 대상 정책사업이 문화예술교육 및 생활문화 분야에서 부분적으로 추진되어 오긴 했으나, 노년 문화예술활동을 위한 정책 지원의 의미와 방법론에 관한 보다 종합적이고 심도 깊은 논의는 상대적으로 미진했다. 이런 배경에서 본 연구의 목적은 한국문화원연합회가 지난 17년간 운영해왔던 ‘어르신 문화활동 지원’ 사업을 연구대상 으로 삼아, 노인 대상 사업에서 발견되는 문제점을 살펴보고, 초고령화 시대를 겨냥한 노년 문화예술활 동 정책지원의 방향성을 탐색하는 데 있다. 사례분석 결과를 바탕으로 기존 노인 대상 사업의 문제점을 ‘노년세대에 대한 평면적 인식’, ‘문화향유기회 확대라는 사업목적의 모호성’, ‘공급자 중심 정책모델의 한계’, ‘참여자수·만족도로 관습화된 성과측정의 한계’ 등 네 가지 측면에서 논의한다. 이를 바탕으로 결론에서는 향후 노년 문화예술활동 정책지원에 있어 주요하게 재검토되어야 하는 부분들을 네 가지 관 점에서 제언한다. 이들은 각각 ‘개인성’을 고려한 노년세대에 대한 입체적 이해의 중요성, ‘관계문화의 형성’ 관점에서 이해하는 문화예술활동의 의미 포용, 참여자의 경험에서 출발하는 ‘자산기반형 정책모 델’로의 전환, 사업성과로서 ‘문화안전망’ 개념의 채택으로 요약될 수 있다.

With the rapid transition towards an super-aging society and the increasing societal focus on loneliness in Korea, the importance of cultural and artistic activities for the elderly has never been more emphasized. While many government schemes targeting the elderly in the fields of arts education and culture-into-life have been attempted over the past two decades, there has been relatively limited discussion on the significance of cultural activities for the elderly from the cultural policy-making point of view that reflects the contemporary trends of super-aging phenomenon and expansion of loneliness amongst the elderly. Against this backdrop, this study attempts to explore the ‘Cultural Activities for the Elderly' project, which has been initiated by the Korean Cultural Center Federation for the past 17 years, and illuminate its underlying problems. Drawing upon research findings, the study argues that there are four key issues; superficial perception of the target audience, ambiguity of policy objective, constraints of the provider-centered model, and limitation of conventional performance measures. In the conclusion, it presents the following four policy implications for cultural policy support for the elderly in the age of super-aging; the importance of appreciating individuality of participants, embracing the broadened meaning of cultural activities from the perspective of ‘relational culture’, converting to ‘an asset-based policy model’, and adopting the the concept of ‘cultural safety net’ as a performance measure.
