A Proposed Scale for Measuring E-service Quality

With rapid growth of the Internet and the globalization of market, companies accepted and adopted the new information and communication technology to offer e-services to their customers. This paper addresses e-service quality issue in the electronic marketplace. The purpose of this paper is to extend what are the main service quality dimensions in the realm of e-service. The paper explores e-service quality dimensions based on a review of the development of e-service quality scales and the SERVQUAL scale. It proposes an 8-dimension scale for measuring e-service quality with rewording and modifying of the SERVQUAL instrument: Website design, reliability, fulfillment, security, responsiveness, personalization, information and empathy. This paper concludes by discussing the findings of this study and highlighting areas for the future research in the realm of e-service quality.

University libraries are currently facing their greatest challenge. For more than a decade, university libraries have been under the pressure to change its way of operation and management due to the tight of budget and the appearance of online resources. These situations cause the libraries to value their development of resources and the application of business marketing to better service. How to retain and grow users through enhancement of service becomes the great concern by library managers. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is not a tactical or functional approach but a key strategic process. A comprehensive CRM will highlight the preference and learning needs of readers individually for cost saving and enhance the retention and loyalty. We aim to propose an integrated conceptual framework implying with business marketing plan and CRM perspective through literature finding.
An Idea Generation Supporting System based on Anchor and Gestalt Theories

Although information technology applications vary widely, they are rarely used in support of creativity. This study presents an idea generation support system based on anchor and gestalt theories. Some perspectives from these theories are borrowed to build theoretical foundation of the proposed system. Anchor building is important to creative process. Applying stimuli suggested by gestalt theory can drive users to generate fresh ideas. The proposed system is domain-independent and can improve personal creativity.
Urban Public Traffic Service Model

Mobile information services will play an important role in our future work and private life. Enabling mobility in urban and populous areas needs novel techniques for individual traffic planning. However, though there already are WAP-based and WEB-based traffic systems featuring route planning, their usability is not often universal. We presents a SMS-based urban public traffic query service model(SMS-UPSM) offering exact transfer query service and supporting most mobile devices, it can be integrated into WAP-based and WEB-based traffic systems. The SMS-UPSM is composed of bus station library model and least transfer path search algorithm. The least transfer path search algorithm is consisted of direct reach path search algorithm and least transfer converse search algorithm(CS-LT). Bus station library model improves veracity of Chinese parse word algorithm and flexibility of traffic information system, and direct reach path search algorithm can immediately get paths whose bus stations are on the same line, and CS-LT algorithm is based on point to point least transfer algorithm(P2P-LT) which makes use of adjacent and reachable matrixes, it greatly improves transfer algorithm performance. And the implementation results show that the performance of P2P-LS algorithm is better than Dijkstra algorithm and the SMS-UPTS has good efficiency.

One quarter of the world’s population use English language as the mother tongue. Researches show that Asian students who take an oral test expect the result to be very positive, when in actual practice the format poses a real difficulty. The report of the Language Training & Testing Center of Taiwan indicates the numbers of people who pass the oral examination are few, and that the main factor in failing is in "answering the question". This study is based on a problem-posing approach. Through an interactive voice response system, the learner spends several minutes to practice orally every day. The system will compare the keyword with the answer on the database, and the result will be sent as a short message to the learner and establishing his oral reaction capability. Via this system, our oral reaction training will become more efficient.
Formalism of the access control model based on the marked Petri Nets

Access control system is a mandatory step in the security policy implementation. Accesses carried out according to certain modes (read, write ...) by subjects (users, process, programs) on objects (data, files, programs). To specify, implement and reason within a formal framework allow ensuring the correction of the programs that in turn guarantee the proper functioning of this policy. This article deals, on the one hand, with designing a model within a formal framework in which both the comparison and the composition of access control policies can be expressed, and on the other hand, with elaborating new techniques ensuring the re-use of this model. Such formal models have already been developed but suffer from too many constraints, are not expressive enough and are specific to professional activities. They all deserve to be reconsidered and extended within a uniform framework in order to study their links and to come up with re-use techniques. The main object of this work is the use of Petri Nets for system modeling. Our results enable us to combine formalism and new access control policies. Moreover, the access control policies are considered as the instances within a more general scheme.

Dynamic frequency scaling (DFS) techniques for real-time embedded systems have been widely studied. However, most of the scheduling algorithms so far concern only special purpose real-time systems. In this paper we devise a power-aware parameter task model for time-sharing real-time systems of general purpose, as well as a scheduling algorithm that is based on the task model. We implement the model and corresponding algorithm on embedded Linux. With the energy consumption measurement method presented in this paper, the experiment shows that for real-time tasks in Linux, 31.7% power consumption can be saved compared with the circumstance under which the processor runs at highest frequency.
Competition and Adoption of Search Engine Software

In recent years, international software companies encountered fierce competition from indigenous software providers in China. In the Internet search engine market, Baidu is a latecomer compared to Google. However, by catering to local users' preferences, Baidu is able to dominate the market now. In this paper, we developed a conceptual model to analyze why users want to adopt and stay in Baidu/Google. In contrast with the user adoption literature, we investigated users' intention to use and continuance intention separately. By discriminating users who stay at Google/Baidu with those who are new to the websites, we may get a better understanding of the market competition. The results of the paper shed light on answering questions as to "What are the key reasons why Baidu wins the battle with Google?""How Baidu leverage local users' behavior and get more market share than Google?" "Is there any vital strategy which leads the success of Baidu?" The paper may also help practitioners who are planning to enter China market by providing practical lessons.
