User Interface of Assistant Navigation System in Smart Phone for the Blind

Under the development of mobile phones, the navigation can provide users with the location of and the path to the destination, such as the Google Map Navigation System. The users enter the correct destination into the mobile phone, and the system analyzes and indicates the paths. Users can also enter the designation by voice input; however, this method has low recognition rate and may be affected by the noise in the surrounding. Unlike the users with normal vision, the visually impaired users are unable to use mobile phones. To enable the visually impaired users to find paths, the study designed a “Smart Mobile Navigation System for the Blind”, which combines the Braille rules with the smart mobile phones. The Braille system can overcome the blind’s difficulty in message input and help them enter the correct destinations. As the voice output may not be completely received by the users, a vibration function is added to this system, in order to minimize the interference, reduce the errors in judgment, and avoid the impacts of the environmental factors on the blinds, thereby increasing their moving speed and improving their walking safety.

Implementing the SCOR Model Best Practices for Supply Chain Improvement in Developing Countries

Firms in developing countries are adopting best practices to improve their organizational performance. They have been focusing on achieving productivity gains in their operations by implementing best practices. However, these efforts could not lead to expected benefits. The main reasons for failure in adopting the best practice which it face new environmental scenarios different for which it was created. This paper explores the best practices implementation and challenges encountered during the process of adoption. The research methodology includes a literature review, questionnaire survey and semi-structured interview. The Ethiopian manufacturing firms were sampled for empirical study. The research survey was based on SCOR model best practices. The findings show that most of the respondent firms have shown interests and put efforts to implement some of them. But, the results were below the expectations. The implementation of the best practice has faced different challenges and unavailability of the required enablers. Therefore, there is a need for developing countries to analyze their scenarios and then adapt the best practices that consider their real situations.

The issue of government supervision to electronic products manufacturers was researched by principal-agent theory. Considered the potential gains of electronic products manufacturers affected by the consumers strengthening environmental protection consciousness, introduced the supervision cost and penalty, constructed the optimal incentive contract, and used these to establish a model which can maximize the expected revenue from governments. By analyzing the potential benefits from electronic products manufacturers and the validity of supervision mechanism from the governments department, the conclusion is found that the preference of green consumption can be the driving force for the manufacturers taking part in the activity of electronic wastes pollution control, so the roles for governments in electronic waste source pollution control is that impel and supervise the electronic products manufacturers, and the more measure is to inspire customers putting into effect green consumption, but the special attention should be paid to is that governments should designs appropriate punishment for electronic products manufacturers so that avoids ratcheting effect.

Control of Automatic Food Drive-Through System using Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)

This project is about automatic control for food drive through system controlled via Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and this system consists of food drive through with two lanes and no human operator is required to operate this food drive through. The difference of this automatic control drive through system compared with the current drive through system is the current system required a few operators to operate the system. This automatic control drive through system is fully operated by machine, like order and payment machine and conveyor which deliver the food while human only needed and involved only to prepare the food. Since there are two lanes involved in this system, the machine installed has two order and payment machines, two ticket verification machines, two conveyors which connect to the kitchen and four sensors to detect the vehicles.

E-Commerce Websites Promotion of Laptops based on AHP and Fuzzy TOPSIS

With the development of electronic commerce, usability on a website is vital to online customers. However, many of these e-commerce applications still do not meet customers’ requirements. This paper is an attempt to investigate the current issues and development of e-commerce websites promotion and marketing of the laptop producers, specifically the laptop in a specific market - China. AHP and Fuzzy TOPSIS are employed to evaluate the current e-commerce websites promotion implemented by all major laptop brands in China. The managerial implications and suggestions for future research are also discussed.

In order to solve the problem of complex operations for users to obtain food safety information, an augmented reality based information disclosure model for food safety was proposed on the smartphone platform. In the proposed model, the user’s instant interest, which was extracted from the real world for consuming and purchasing foods, was employed to obtain the food information that the user was interested in. And then, the technology of augmented reality was used to integrate the “real objects” and the “virtual objects” to architect the food safety information disclosure framework, where the “real objects” stand for users’ food recommendations and consumption environment, and the “virtual objects” stand for safety information of the foods which users were interested. Finally, the framework is customized for applying to food recommendation of Jianghai Restaurant Association of Jiangmen City, to verify of the validity of the proposed framework.

The theory and technology of cloud computing have been widely adopted by many small and medium enterprises and individuals for their business systems or personal affairs. To facilitate the evaluation processes of cloud service creditability, the present paper proposed a new multi-attribute evaluation theory. In addition, a utility and collaborative filtering-based evaluation method was presented, which targeted actual problems existing in the processes, such as missing data or inconsistency of data dimensions. The new method utilizes Enhanced Lance and Williams Distance, which is based on Jaccard similarity coefficient, to measure the similarities between different cloud services; it also applies utility theory to data unification and integration. In the later part of this paper, simulation experiments were conducted to test the validity and rationality of the proposed method.

An Empirical Research on Influencing Factors of Microblogging Marketing Effectiveness

As a new social media, Microblogging’s uniqueness has quickly attracted a large number of users. More and more enterprises choose microblogging marketing as a new means for marketing, while less of them grasp the new emerging marketing tool. This paper aims to find the influencing factors of microblogging marketing effectiveness. Based on the existing research results, we had an empirical study on microblogging marketing influence factors through quantitative model method. The results show that, the number of fans and the average forwarding amount have a significantly positive impact on the microblogging marketing effectiveness; while the average number of daily microbloggings has an insignificant impact; Microblogging posts on events and activities that have a significantly positive effect on the number of fans, while Emotional microbloggings posts have almost no influence on the two. The paper improves the research of social media with real data in the aspect of academic field, the findings and conclusions of the paper also give much reference to the enterprise microblogging marketing strategies.

Research on the Force Density Function in the Rake Face of H-slot Tool

In machining high steel 2.25Cr-1Mo-0.25V, cutting force is large, and tool is prone to adhesion failure. In order to study the distribution of force density function and stress state on the rake face of H-slot blade. Experiments were carried out to study the contact phenomenon in tool rake face. Based on it, the force density function was established and it was showed through 3d view. The force distribution law was analyzed. The force density function was used as the boundary conditions. Tool stress field was simulated using FEM. The simulation results are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis results. The investigative results provide a theoretical foundation for solving the key technical problems of tool breakage in the automated production, and for studying optimization technology of groove.

Parameter Match of Powertrain and Economic Research for Electric City Bus

In order to improve the efficiency and reduce operating costs of electric vehicles, the powertrain parameters matching and economic analyses had been used as the point of research in this paper. The vehicle model was built in CRUISE, and used two kinds of Cycle Run in power consumption simulation, respectively were constant speed and Chinese typical cycle run. According to the matched electric city bus powertrain parameters, the vehicle model simulation results show the power consumption per kilometer was 1.02kWh under the Chinese typical cycle run conditions; the endurance mileage was more than 250km under constant speed 40km/h conditions. Compared with the traditional fuel vehicles in the 8-year service period of city bus, can save operating cost about 84108 $.

On the basis of the traditional net structure, a new concept of special net structure (SNS) is defined and its main characteristics are summarized. The SNS is a concolorous graph with colorless nodes and concolorous edges, which can be described by polychromatic sets theory formally and stored by Hash table in computer programming to reduce the storage space and diminish the search region. Furthermore, the SNS is applied to workflow modeling, and the basic model primitives, typical model constructs and typical conflict constructs are presented. Finally, the verification algorithm of workflow SNS model is advanced. Together with a case of service process, a prototype system of workflow modeling based on SNS is developed to illustrate the correctness and feasibility of the proposed approach.

Faculty selection procedure in any educational organization is a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) problem. Faculty members play an important role while judging the quality of an educational institute. Thus, educational organizations are interested to recruit the best faculty in order to provide a quality education to their students. As, this MCDM problem requires multiple criteria and a finite set of candidate alternatives, an amalgamation of various MCDM methods can be used to solve such problem. In this paper a study has been made on ranking five alternatives with the help of three step methodology combining FAHP with PROMETHEE-2 and TOPSIS, comparing the results and finally determining the rank using group decision making method. This proposed model yields the ranking of the five candidates in a faculty interview considering several experts’ opinion.

In Agriculture pre harvest glut, post harvest loss and intermediary involvement cause producer to get the lowest price in the entire marketing process. Though the authorities provide long time monthly price series for various geographically spread regions of the country in websites, the lack of knowledge to process online market data does not allow farmers to take a dynamic decision for the sale of their produce. In this model, the equipped marketing information is analyzed for integrating domestic markets and manifesting price transmission from markets to farm gate (prices received by farmers) leading to sustainable profit. Market wise support price for crops is extracted from website tables using XML SAX(Simple API for XML) Expression and interested crop price associated with its season and variety are clustered using SONN (Self organized neural network). Then support vector regression (SVR) based price prediction for long and midterm movement helps farmers in the decision making of agricultural marketing. As all the processing is done at the back end it is easy for the farmers to interact with the system and reach for more accurate prediction. The results assure of more precision than other traditional methods such as regression techniques and moving averages

R&D efficiency has a profound impact on the competitiveness of software companies, which is the typical knowledge-intensive business service. The software companies is divided into system software companies, application software companies and service software companies according to the types of product or service of software companies. Using software companies in top 1000 R&D investment as the research sample, the R&D efficiency of system, application and service companies are measured and compared based on DEA. Through the comparison measurement of enterprises overall efficiency, technical efficiency and overall efficiency of three types, the research shows that the technical composition of system software products is complex and the product development is difficult. The system software company may take advantage of open source software or form industry alliances. The application software company may focus on the local market demand and satisfy it through introducing advanced technology from upstream companies. The service companies should improve system integration capabilities, thus providing customized software solutions for customers.

This paper selects Chinese real estate enterprises as objects of study and obtains large sample data by investigation. Studying the relations among E-commerce application, enterprise sustainable competitiveness and enterprise performance, the paper finds the influence path as well as the influence intensity among them by employing partial least squares (PLS) structural equation modeling. Research findings show that information communication, inner management, purchasing logistics, and network marketing are beneficial to enterprise sustainable competitiveness and the improvement of enterprise performance. Further management suggestions are provided in the later part of the paper.

Distributed workflow management system has been widely used for the requirement of rapid development of process oriented software systems. In the past few years, more and more modern enterprises prefer the web-based workflow solutions. However, developing a web-based distributed workflow is a time-consuming task, since the architecture is complex and the programmers need to master the skills of both front-end and back-end development. In this paper, we present an application-level web component framework to develop the web-based workflow efficiently in the distributed environment. In this framework, the functions of the components are restricted to human-computer interaction and data computation, and all other functions are integrated into the workflow management system. Most web applications can be easily created through the component configuration instead of coding. Real-world scenarios which are built and implemented based on this architecture are shown to prove the effectiveness and usefulness of the framework.

Learning Classification Rules Based on Effect Measure

To produce a new Rule, many rule-based classifiers use one measure to select the best attribute-value pair. So, a lot of attribute-values have the same best values, and we cannot distinguish which attribute-value pair is the best. On the other hand, these classifiers usually combine the best attribute-value pairs to produce rules, whether they bias toward the same class label or not. To address issues, this paper proposes a new measure approach named deviation. Using the attribute-value deviation, it is easy to distinguish which attribute-value pairs bias toward the same class label. In this paper, we propose a multi-measure called effect measure to select the best attribute-value pair. It integrates the deviation and the entropy, and we also propose a new classification approach called CAEM which uses the effect measure to select the best attribute-value pairs. Experimental results show the method of multi-measure is necessary.

The customer demand model was established using handling the mass customer orders. In order to improve the efficiency of the configuration, the product family model was established based on the composition of custom module and universal module. By extracting the attributes of product family and demand characteristics of customer orders, the match relationship between order needs and product family was created by similarity, and product configuration program was obtained. Finally, an example of a reducer is presented to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.

For complexity of process-level manufacturing process in enterprise workshop, Lacking of the researching about the impact on production scheduling of workshop which made by manufacturing process ;To simplify the process of the workshop process-level processing, we can adopt a method that divide the processing operations into two kinds :universal and differentiated method; proposing the concept of process decoupling point, build a process-level manufacturing task decomposition model ;Using the method of directed hyper-graph to get the optimal processing path, achieving the simplification of the production scheduling process on the considering of the ability of enterprise resource ; In order to make the shortest time and the lowest cost and meet the individual needs of clients, making reasonable use of the resources, providing the technical support for the workshop production scheduling.

Design and Simulation of a System for Object Tracking in Video

The aim of this paper work is to implement an efficient methodology to track the moving object present through a video sequence. Various image processing steps such as video preprocessing, Frame display, Background Subtraction, Segmentation [4] and tracking are performed. First, the videos are separated as frames and preprocessing method is used for the color conversion to subtract the foreground objects from the background. Background subtraction [2] is used to find the total or sudden change in intensity in the video. The segmentation module is executed to extract the boundary of the object from the background. Finally object tracking will be carried out using Optical flow method [7].
