In recently years, there has been rapid growth in discussion groups and micro blogging, in which an important characteristic of the entries is their trending topics on some generalized categories. Many researchers have attempted to classify trending topics by using only keywords, trending topics are rarely straightforward; they are normally expressed in a more subtle manner. It is well accepted that using high-dimensional multi-modal language features for tweets content representation and classifier training may achieve more sufficient characterization of the diverse properties of the tweets and further result in higher discrimination power of the classifiers. However, training the classifiers in a high-dimensional multi-modal feature space requires a large number of labeled training tweets, which will further result in the problem of curse of dimensionality. To tackle this problem, a hierarchical feature subset selection algorithm need to be used to enable more accurate tweets classification; where the processes for feature selection and classifier training are seamlessly integrated in a single framework. In this article, we used the LingPipe classifier to accurately classify the Twitter trending topics where it shows a substantial improvement over their state-of-the art trending topics-trained counterparts.

The growth of portable wireless communication devices has pushed designers to design miniature size antennas. The most prized among miniature antenna choices is the micro-strip patch antenna. These antennas have significant advantages such as low profile, light weight, relatively low manufacturing cost, and polarization diversity. This paper compares the performance of micro-strip patch antenna having different shapes of the patch (Square, Elliptical, Annular ring, Triangular) at a frequency of 2.43 GHz. To compare and analyze the performance, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) software was used. The results show that the size of the antenna will be smallest in case of square shape patch antenna followed by elliptical, triangular and annular ring. These results can be very useful while designing micro-strip patch antenna.

A profit-maximizing economic lot scheduling problem with shelf life items was researched. This paper studies the profit-maximizing economic lot-sizing problem (PELSP), in which the price of the product is a function of demand rate, hence the demand rate for a variable rather than constant, in this paper we use the basic period approach to maximize the profit. A mathematical model was given, and also a numerical illustration and sensitive analysis of the main variables.

We discuss experiences in building the prototype of the project management software. We particularly investigate the aspect of resource allocation and scheduling. We attempt to integrate the automatic allocation and task scheduling to it. The database containing the information about the project, tasks, resource is designed. The tasks may be concurrent and requires many skills. Many employees can have many skills and may be available at different time. The allocation must be able to compromise this. Two scheduling schemes such as ASAP and ALAP are implemented in the tool. The case demonstration of the task assignment and scheduling are presented.

The experimental research study aimed to measure the moisture performance of sawdust and banana peels ply board as non-veneer panel for construction projects. The goal was to measure the vapor permeability values of sawdust and banana peels ply board, compare the results with those done for oriented strand board and to investigate the efficiency of structures through these panel products. The research has shown that structures made of different materials have different drying efficiencies under high relative humidity conditions that are representative of their application as non-veneer panel in cold climates.

Internet Innovation Union (IIU) is a union composed of universities and scientific research institutions aim to realize resource sharing. The composition and usage characteristics of the shared resources in IIU were analyzed. By introducing market mechanism in resources sharing process, the dynamic pricing strategy for resources sharing was studied and a trading market comprises of federation members and market agent was proposed. The market agent adjusts the profit rate of resources dynamically according to the statistical data of the supply-demand relationship, thus to achieve dynamic change of resource prices along with the supply-demand relationship. The market is easy to implement in IIU federated cloud, and the experimental results indicated that it can further open sharing of resources and improve resource utilization.

Mobile learning is constantly evolving, following the shift of mobile technologies from laptops to handheld devices and smartphones. Indeed, the opportunities for innovation in this area are numerous and constantly under the focus of all the parties involved, ranging from traditional schools and universities to individual learners. However, mobile technology brings along increased threats to system and data security and privacy, given the fact that learners and educators are mobile, and in most cases, permitted to use their own mobile devices to access resources and services. After identifying the challenges, this paper provides a comprehensive review and classification of the state-of-the-art research on security and privacy in the m-learning realm and beyond. As far as we are aware of, this is the first time an exhaustive and detailed survey of this kind is attempted.
