Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among self-efficacy, collective efficacy,job satisfaction, and organizational commitment of nurses working in general hospitals. Methods: Data were collectedfrom 239 nurses working in five general hospitals of a local area by self-reported questionnaires. The collecteddata were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation, and stepwise multipleregression by using SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Self-efficacy, collective efficacy, job satisfaction, and organizationalcommitment showed significantly positive correlations. Self-efficacy was the main factor of affecting job satisfaction,which explained 14.3% of the variance for the nurses’ job satisfaction together with collective efficacy andweekly working time. In addition, the primary factor of affecting organization commitment was self-efficacy, whichaccounted for 17.2% of the variance for the nurses’ organizational commitment together with hospital size andshift work. Conclusion: Self-efficacy and nursing working condition such as working time or hospital size contributedto the job satisfaction and organizational commitment and collective efficacy contributed to the jobsatisfaction. Therefore, the strategies for improving self and collective efficacy should be considered. Further studyis also needed to investigate the concept of collective efficacy and its’ measurement, and the relationship betweencollective efficacy and organizational commitment.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting clinical nurses' presenteeism. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional design was used in which participants completed self-report questionnaires that consisted of measures for nurses' job satisfaction, job stress, professionalism and presenteeism. 267 nurses working in general hospital participated in this study. Logistic regression analysis was used to estimate predictors of the presenteeism in clinical nurses. Results: 250 nurses experienced one or more health problems last one month. The group who experienced presenteeism during the last one year had significant differences in professionalism and perceived productivity. Predictors of sickness presenteeism in clinical nurses included work experience, total health problem and last 1 year absenteeism. Last 1 year absenteeism and total health problem were strongly related to presenteeism in clinical nurses. Conclusion: Major findings of this study indicated that in dealing with nurses' presenteeism, not only managing nurses' job stress and job satisfaction but also providing flexible work schedule and increasing staffing level as an organizational approach are necessary to be considered. Further repeated and expanded research is needed to explore the multidimensional aspects of nurses' presenteeism including a broad range of work setting and the influence of Korean nurses' organizational culture on presenteeism.

Purpose: This study examined to explore factors influencing on employment stress of university students. Methods: The data were collected by structured questionnaires to students who agreed to be the subjects of this study. And 230 cases were finally analyzed. T-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression were conducted for data analysis using SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Significant differences revealed in age, department of major, residental type and school year on employment stress by general characteristics. Also, employment stress showed negative correlation with self-esteem, and satisfaction in major. Self- esteem and satisfaction in major, department of major were confirmed as a factors influencing on employment stress and accounted for 36% of the variance. Conclusion: Further studies that discover factors influencing on employment stress of university students are needed, and also practical programs are necessary to decrease employment stress of university students.

Purpose: This study examined self-efficacy, emotional labor, and health promoting behaviors. It also investigated factors affecting health promoting behaviors of nurses working for tertiary and general hospital. Methods: Between June and July 2013, a convenience sample of 233 subjects was collected from 2 tertiary hospitals and 4 general hospitals. The data analysis was done with ANOVA, t-test and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Emotional labor of the subjects was slightly lower than that of other nurses and the average level of health promoting behaviors was lower than the median. Health promoting behaviors were differentiated by education, hospital type, and monthly income. Self-efficacy showed positive correlation with HPLP-Ⅱ, but emotional labor showed negative correlation with self-efficacy and HPLP-Ⅱ. The most significant factor affecting health promoting behaviors was self regulation(16.3%). The combination of self regulation, attentiveness to required display rules, BSN, preference to task difficulty, and monthly income(≥300) accounted for 25.4% of health promoting behavior. Attentiveness to required display rules was a negative factor of HPLP-Ⅱ. Conclusion: When developing health promotion programs for nurses, self-efficacy should be considered and further research is needed to identify mediating variables between emotional labor and health promoting behaviors.

Purpose: The purpose of this descriptive, cross-sectional study was to examine relationships among self efficacy, social support, and health promoting behaviors in correctional officers. Factors that influence health promoting behaviors of correctional officers were also assessed. Methods: Two hundred correctional officers completed a pack of self-report questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one -way ANOVA, and multiple regression. Results: There were statistically significant differences in health promoting behaviors depending on marital status and subjective health status. Significant positive correlations among self- efficacy, social support, and health promoting behaviors were found. Factors influencing health promoting behaviors of correctional officers were social support, subjective health status, marital status, and self-efficacy. Conclusion: Considering the findings from this study, health care providers need to develop effective nursing interventions which increase the level of self-efficacy and social support for correctional officers and to help correctional officers practice health promoting behaviors.

Purpose: The purpose of this research was to provide baseline data by utilizing solutions to health problems caused by work-related stress and to examine a way of treatment by comparing and analyzing how the stresses link to fatigue and quality of researchers' life. Methods: A survey was conducted with 50 researchers working for in H research institute in Daejeon Metropolitan City from April 10th to May 10th, 2012 to examine the correlation of work stress, fatigue and quality of life. The data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test to look into examine the difference in work stress, fatigue, and quality of life. Also, the correlation of work stress, fatigue and quality of life was measured through by the Pearson correlation coefficient. The data collected through the questionnaires was were analyzed by SPSS 21.0 based on the significant level with a p-value, 0.05. Results: The results showed that fatigue was caused by work stresses in researchers and quality of life was ranked in a relatively low level. Correlation of work stresses, quality of life and fatigue and work stresses against mental health index was negative and fatigue against physical index was also negative. Conclusion: It is necessary to maintain more detailed provisions in order to improve mental health and stress level of researchers. Moreover, systematic, in-depth evaluation should be done to reduce researcher’s work-related stress and fatigue. In addition, stress management and prevention program should be implemented for these researchers.
외국인 근로자와 내국인 근로자의 건강수준 및 결정요인 비교

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the health status between foreign workers and native workers and to examine the influencing factors of health status of foreign and native workers. Methods: This was a secondary analysis of the data collected from the 3rd (2011) Korean Working Conditions Survey (KWCS). The sample included 101 foreign workers and 101 native workers matched by age and gender. Results: The difference in health status between foreign workers and native workers was not statistically significant. The most commonly complained health problem of foreign workers was muscle pain of the upper limbs. Among foreign workers, hazard exposure, coworker support and supervisor support were significant predictors of health status. Among native workers, income level and obesity were significant predictors of health status. Conclusion: For health management and health promotion of foreign workers, employers and health providers need to establish coworker supporting systems in workplace and improvement strategies of work environment. Particularly, they must pay closer attention to management of foreign workers' musculoskeletal disorder.
서비스업 종사 직장여성의 직무 스트레스와 우울이 자살생각에 미치는 영향

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship of job stress, depression and to identify factors influencing suicide ideation of women-workers. Methods: The research was a cross-sectional, descriptive study. Data collection was done using self-report questionnaires with 348 women-workers who agreed to participate in the study. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, x2-test, logistic regression analysis by using SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: The results showed, among the independent variables, drinking, job stress, depression are significant factors that influence women-workers’ suicide ideation. Women-workers’ depression is 3.05 times higher (p<.002), and job stress 1.03 times higher suicide ideation (p<.045), and drinking 2.15 times higher suicidal ideation (p<.006). Conclusion: The results indicate that suicide ideation is highly prevalent in women- workers, especially among people with depression and job stress. It is necessary to seek how to prevent and manage womenworkers’ suicide ideation considering features.
