The purposeof this study is to analyze the importance among constituents of publicity in decision-making stage of urban planning. The twelve factors with four categories are determined by Focus Group Interview(FGI). The sixty-seven government officials, professors, and professional engineers who compose urban planning committee were surveyed about the importance of factors, and the collected data was analyzed by Analytic Hierachy Process(AHP). According to the results, the most important category is public policy and followed by living facilities, financial and environmental-physical factors. Also the most valuable factors are the following: sustainability, competitiveness, planning consistency, replenishing infra-structure and balanced developmentof city.

This study aims to make a classification of semi-residential zones based on its spacial characteristics criteria and to analyses the factors which affect FAR in practice by zones. To do this, each plot of semi-residential zones in Seoul city were classified under 3 heads using building, plot and location feature. Factors which are influencing FAR in practice of each zones were tested by multiple regression analysis. The result shows that the factors which have affected on the FAR in practice by zones have changed according to spacial characteristics criteria. Finally, the differences of characteristic in each semi-residential area had resulted in the factors which affected the differences between FAR in practice and the ratio of commercial area. With these results of analysis, we are able to suggest that it needed to establish various FAR regulation system which reflected the characteristic of the each zones. It means that the management of semi-residential area has some limitations for achieving the goal of land use planning in Seoul metropolitan city.

This study aims at analyzing the possibilities of self-support program to local industries in the case of Daegu. For this, focusing on reviewing the literatures, the concepts and the relations about local industries and self-support programs were studied, and through empirical analysis, the possibilities to apply self-support programs to local industries were analyzed. The main results of the study are summarized as follows. First, for criteria to apply self-support program to local industries, five items such as inducing motive to work, possibility to create income, possibility to grow industries, proper skills, and appropriateness to region were selected. Second, for weighted values by each applied criteria, according to the analysis, possibilities to create income(0.3062) was highest, and proper skills(0.2155), inducing motive to work(0.1931), possibility to grow industries(0.1542), and appropriateness to region(0.1311) followed in order. Third, for the possibility to apply self-support program to Daegu local industries, according to the analysis, manufacturing clothing and accessaries was highest, and manufacturing leather, bags, and similar products, manufacturing precious metal and accessaries, manufacturing eyeglasses, photo devices, and other optical products, and manufacturing sewn clothing followed in order.

As the modern city's interest in night atmosphere and the activities increases dramatically, the importance of the landscape of urban buildings is also increasing. The interest in urban landscape is focusing more on the after sunset hour rather than daytime due to the extended activity hours and the change in life pattern of the urban citizens. Hence the night-scape of the city can be perceived as the feature to increase satisfaction and enhance the safe, comfortable, and dynamic image of the city. The purpose of the study is to analyze the effect of the sense of place developed by LED Media-Facade on pedestrian's feel about the landscape. Therefore, the Seoul Square Building was chosen as the main research case target area. LED Media-Facade technology is one of the technologies that is specialized to construct the urban design. This allows the creation of new form of city scenary in the urban area satisfying the pedestrians' scenic which will lead to increase in the brand and property value of the building.

This study developed the land use management index(LUMI) which reflects the behavioral control characteristics of zoning system. This index was used to derive the overlap index and the regulatory index of the case sites. The overlap index, which is expressed by a single numerical value for each administrative district, is useful for comparing the designated area between local governments, but it is limited to show the actual land use regulation situation. On the other hand, since the regulatory index can express the spatial distribution of designated zones, it is useful to grasp the intensity of regulation in space. The land use management index(LUMI) will be useful for identifying the regulatory characteristics of region and deriving the zones that need to be managed based on the characteristics. In addition, the land use management index(LUMI) of the target year can be set and various management measures can be implemented to achieve this.
