The OCR technology for Indian documents is in emerging stage and most of these Indian OCR systems can read the documents written in only a single script. As many commercial and official documents of different states of India are tri-lingual in nature, therefore identification of script and/ or language is one of the elementary tasks for multi-script document recognition. A script recognizer simplifies the task of multi-lingual OCR by improving the accuracy and reducing the computational complexity. This script recognition may be at line, word or character level depending on interlacing of different scripts at different levels. This paper presents the effectiveness of Gabor Filter banks with kNN, SVM and PNN classifiers to identify the scripts at line level from such trilingual documents. The experiments show that Gabor features with SVM classifier achieve a recognition rate of 99.85% for trilingual documents.

In this paper we have discussed about a new technique to develop a cost-effective Bionic Parallel robotic arm that can be used for precise handling in industry. The main objective of our new approach in handling technology as an alternative to the portal systems that is predominant in electromechanical engineering. Unlike these designs, with Bionic robot, the drive unit and the handling system are entirely independent of each other. The working and drive levels are spatially separated by the work surface. The system's drive unit is safely located and protected beneath the work surface, while the controllable pyramid of rods is mounted vertically on top of it.

In this study, sound and thermal insulation properties of pleko ceiling boards were evaluated. A set of ceiling boards combined of 6 layers containing the foam plastic insulation board; pleko adhesives, mechanical fasteners, reinforcing fabric, plekote base coat and pleko finish were made. These components are being attached on the interior face including the existing projects of Exterior Insulation Finish Systems (EISF) are made to provide sound insulation comparison. The study showed that the thermal insulating properties of pleko board in ceilings maintain the protection of constructional elements against thermal impact and moisture related damage. Moreover, the acoustical properties of gypsum board and Styrofoam which is the main material in pleko board would serve as sound reflector of the reverberation of sound inside the room

In this paper, a simple non-linear analytical charge control model for the DC and microwave characteristics of AlGaN/GaN MODFET is presented. The effect of parasitic resistances Rs and Rd is also incorporated. The model has also been extended to obtain the expressions for transconductance, drain conductance and cut-off frequency of the device. The model predicts a high transconductance of 502.6mA/mm at 1Vof gate bias and a maximum cut-off frequency of 22.5GHz for a 50nm device gate length, which is important in realizing the device for microwave applications. The extrinsic and intrinsic characteristics show close agreement with the published results proving the validity of the model.

Breast cancer is the leading cause of death among the women worldwide. Early detection and proper treatment may reduce the mortality rate and ultrasound imaging is used as a complimentary with the mammography to detect and diagnose the tumor. During the inspection of thick and dense breast tissue ultrasound imaging gives better tissue characterization than mammography. Detection and demarcation of tumor is acquired through segmentation process, but it is challenging due to some inherent artifacts (speckle, attenuation) of US image. Here in this paper, new segmentation algorithm has been proposed with three stages. It has also discarded the overhead of preprocessing (image enhancement, and noise removal techniques) used by traditional and other algorithms discussed in the literature. In the first stage of the proposed algorithm, probability image and its histogram equalized image are obtained from the original US image. In the second stage, clustering process is implemented on probability and histogram equalized image separately using KMCG, KFCG and augmented KMCG/KFCG codebook generation algorithms. Further, these clusters are merged sequentially one-by-one. In the third stage, post processing has been implemented on the selected merged cluster to obtain resultant segmented image. Complexity analysis is done for all codebook generation algorithms used for clustering and the results are compared. KFCG is found to be the fastest algorithm amongst all. Eventually in consultation with the expert radiologist all segmentation results are compared with each other and best results are displayed with red border.

Since the very beginning of the industrial revolution the work-force (employees) is forced to perform repeated laborious tasks round the clock. To make things worse, most of the tasks are non-intellectual. With the passage of time while the employee is gaining experience and becoming more productive, he is losing human characteristics. And gradually transforming into a circus animal. Being inherently irregular and unpredictable employee (humans) require a system that can not only curb their irregularities but also, reminds them of their expected location via vocal announcements in real time. To meet these requirements, we present an efficient system that tracks the where about of employees in indoor environment. And keeps a compact tempo-spatial track records of each employee. It helps them to avoid irregularities in real time which otherwise may lead to accumulation of a considerable debt at the end of the month. The proposed system is both employee and organization friendly. The employee benefits because he/she is not deprived of human comfort level. And the organization benefits because the efficiency of employee is increase in real time.

This paper presents the modeling and simulation of a low voltage pentacene organic field effect transistor (OFET), which is based on experimental data using an integrated finite element and artificial neural networks (ANN) approach. We present a model of organic field effect transistor based on neural network, this approach allows an easy way to model devices without acquiring a deep knowledge the device physics. The finite element type simulation is realized using 2-D Atlas simulator, both Atlas and obtained modeling results agree approximately with the published experimental results.

The density (ρ) and ultrasonic velocity (U) for ternary mixture of dimethyl acetamide, isobutyl methyl ketone and diethyl ether at different frequencies (2MHZ, 4MHz, 6MHZ, 8MHZ) have been measured at 308K. These data have been used to compute adiabatic compressibility (Ks), intermolecular free length (Lf), acoustic Impedance (Z), molar volume (Vm), molar sound velocity(R), molar compressibility (B), available volume (Va), Lennard Jones potential repulsive term exponent(n), relative association(RA), interaction parameter (χ) and excess values of some of the above parameters for the entire range of mole fraction of DAMC and are interpreted to explain molecular interaction occurring in the liquid mixture.
