Temperature Aware Methodology for Low Power SoC System

Energy consumption is a major concern in many embedded computing systems. Several studies have shown that cache memories account for about 50% of the total energy consumed in these systems. The performance of a given cache architecture is determined to a large degree by the behavior of the application executing on the architecture. The Desktop systems have to accommodate a very wide range of applications and therefore the cache architecture is usually set by the manufacturer as a best compromise given current applications, technology and cost. Unlike desktop systems, embedded systems are designed to run a small range of well-defined applications. In this paper, we explore the tradeoff between thermal and interconnect energy when allocating tasks in MPSoC and to devlop an efficient system. The experimental results show that the devloped technique can reduce interconnects energy by more than 25% on an average with almost the same peak temperature when compared with prior thermal-balanced solutions.

This paper introduces a new efficient algorithm for mapping linear array into hex-cell network. The capability of mapping several topologies is considered as one of the most important features of the hex-cell interconnection network. This feature is strongly affecting the performance of parallel machines. In this paper, we present a new algorithm for mapping linear array topology into hex-cell network with dilation and congestion of one;which indicates that we have one-to-one mapping as a result of intercommunication among nodes.

Experimental and Mathematical Study of Brass Casting During Solidification

In the present study numerical and experimental study of the brass casting has been conducted. Cooling of the brass casting has been studied both experimentally and numerically. Two-dimensional heat conduction equation in Cartesian co-ordinate governs the physical problem. At the interface convective boundary conditions have been considered. Heat conduction equation in unsteady state and transient state will be solved using. Finite difference software has been used to study the temperature flow and cooling rate. The pure brass and green sand mould will be used as a molten material and mould cavity material respectively.

Modified Differential Evolution for Multi-objective Load Dispatch Problem Considering Quadratic Fuel Cost Function

This paper proposes a Modified Differential Evolution (MDE) for solving multi-objective load dispatch (MOLD) problem where transmission power losses are considered. MDE is an improved version of conventional Differential Evolution (CDE) in which the mutation operation of the CDE is improved by using five differential solutions instead of three ones similar to CDE. In the MOLD problem, three cases of dispatch including economic dispatch, emission dispatch and multi-objective dispatch are carried out by considering fuel cost function, emission function and both fuel cost and emission functions. In the third case of dispatch, there is a price penalty factor employed to determine the best compromise solution instead of using Fuzzy-based mechanism similar to other studies. The performance of MDE is verified by testing on two systems with three units and one system with six units. In the two systems, the fuel cost and emission from MDE are compared to those from CDE and other existing meta-heuristic algorithms, and the analysis on the result comparison indicates that the MDE is a promising algorithm for solving the MOLD problem.

Government want to expand loaning to Agriculture part of Economy. For this reason Reserve Bank of India (RBI) endorsed focus for Indian commercial banks to loan 18 percent of their credit to Agriculture Sector. This is known as Agriculture Priority Sector Lending, however it is watched that regardless of obsession of targets both public banks and private banks are confronting the issues to satisfy the targets. The present study is an attempt to discover the issues confronted by the bank officials for Agriculture Priority Sector Lending (Agriculture PSL). The study range is Delhi NCR. A study of 112 bank officials has been done for the same. For dissecting information, Exploratory Factor Analysis is utilized with the assistance of SPSS (21.0)

Residual stress is an important factor in machining process an attempt has been made to analyze the residual stress in turning of AISI4340 steel. The residual stresses that can be found in a cutting tool insert are mainly generated at the final step of the machining process. Feed, speed, depth of cut are the input parameter. The residual and the tool wear are the output responses. Cryogenic treatment will improve the performance and made significant of wear resistance, better residual stress and product quality of cutting tool. This is the study of review the literature from performance of cryogenically treated cutting tool insert in varying nose radius and the soaking period. The level of the generated residual stress depends on the machine materials and on the process parameters used. The overall goal of the present paper is to identify an analytical relationship between residual stress and turning process parameters accounting also for the material being machined.
