Feature Selection Using Rough Set for Improving the Performance of the Supervised Learner

Prediction plays a significant role in the human life to predict the situation, climate, finance, outcome of the particular event or activities, etc. This predication can be achieved by the classifier which is formally known as supervised learner. The classifier can be built using the dataset and its performance is based on the attributes or features present in the dataset which are highly relevant to the predictive target attributes. The feature selection process removes the redundant and irrelevant features from the dataset to improve the performance of the classifier. This paper proposes a rough set-based feature selection method to remove the redundant and irrelevant features in order to improve the performance the classifier. The proposed method is tested on the various datasets with the various supervised learning algorithms and it is evident that the proposed method producing the better performance than the other methods compared.
Android Client Development based on Moodle Platform

As an excellent open online source management system, Moodle platform designed with a free modular structure, hens, has a strong compatibility and easy to use, it provide a variety of functions with convenient features like curriculum management, job submission, discussion chat, online quizzes and so on. Due to its excellent performance, it has been widely used as online learning platform by many universities around the world. But most functions of Moodle cannot friendly run on mobile terminal, how to solve this problem becomes an urgent issue in the age of mobile Internet. Considering the popularity of the Android system, we have developed an Android client for Moodle. This client supports remote login, course information display, online learning and other functions. It can help students realize mobile learning using fragments of time effectively.

Thermal convection in multi-component fluid has wide applications in industrial, ionospheric and geothermal systems. The effect of Coriolis force on Soret driven ferrothermohaline convection in densely packed anisotropic porous medium has been studied. A linear stability analysis is carried out using normal mode technique. It is found that stationary mode is favorable for Darcy model and oscillatory instability is studied. The porous medium is assumed to be variable and the effect of permeable parameter and vertical anisotropy are to destabilize the system. The non-buoyancy magnetization and Soret effects are found to stabilize the system in consideration with anisotropy of the system. The results are depicted graphically.

The Web crawler technology enables timely and accurate collection of agricultural products price among 214 large-scale wholesale markets in China, which brings enormous convenient for a better observation of agricultural products future price trend. This article, which is based on market prices of various agricultural products collected by web crawler technology, develops quantitative analysis predictive models of wholesale prices. The predictive model of cucumber prices presents regularity of ARIMA (3,1,2) model. By comparing the relative errors between predicted and actual values, we find that ARIMA (3,1,2) model can provide high accuracy of short-term prediction for cucumber prices in Shandong Shouguang wholesale market.
Fabrication of Continuous GFRP Composites using Vacuum Bag Moulding Process

Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composites are being promoted as the materials of 21st century because of their superior corrosion resistance, excellent thermo-mechanical properties, and high strength-to-weight ratio. Out of those, Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) composite materials are replaced by many traditional engineering materials owing to their outstanding material properties. According to the application or need sophisticated fabrications of composites has increased enormously. This increase in the development of such materials will become more economical and reliable when manufacturing process is more efficient and durable. Here we used continuous Glass fiber of 430 GSM (Grams per Square Meter) as the reinforcement material and Epofine 230 (CY230) a class of Epoxy polymer as the matrix material. This paper discusses about the fabrication of continuous (uni-directional) SIKA E-Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymeric (GFRP) composites using Vacuum Bag moulding process.

This paper analyzes the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) performance of a single phase 5-level CHB MLI. The multi level inverter is simulated using the carrier overlapping APOD Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) switching control technique. The total harmonic distortion (THD) of the output voltage is observed for the PWM control technique at varying modulation index of 0.7-1.0. The performance of a 5-level CHB MLI is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK. It is observed that the carrier overlapping APODPWM provides output with relatively low THD.
