In this paper, designing of a low pass FIR filter is done by artificial neural network. For this kind of application a different type of model is used in ANN. In this research work, self-organizing map (SOM) algorithm is used to train the Neural Network. The SOM algorithm is based on unsupervised learning technique. We also compare the result of neural network with the result of normal window method. The accuracy of SOM neural network is about 98%.

Cloud computing integrates vast computing and/or storage resources together, which provides services on demand via network. The cloud computing data center is usually composed of thousand of commercial computers, and these computers are connected by network. A cloud computing programming model is urgent to design to help user to use cloud resources without concerning the details of implementation. Nowadays, some cloud computing programming models have been proposed. This paper first analyzes the problems which cloud computing programming model need to solve, and then analyzes the characteristics of the cloud computing programming model. The advantages and disadvantages of each programming model are proposed. Finally, this is paper concludes the current issues and future trends.

Hypervisors using virtualization technology enable multiple operating systems to run on one physical server. Cloud computing model is less expensive because it streamlines the delivery of services by providing a stage for optimizing complex IT resources in a scalable manner with the help of virtualization technology and hypervisors. Selecting a suitable hypervisor for their organization’s private cloud is herculean task for modern CIOs. Hypervisor vendors do claim that they have negated virtualization overhead completely compare to native system, but still there exists minute virtualization overhead because virtual machines have to communicate with middle-layer hypervisor to access the underlying physical hardware and also there is an impact of other virtual machines running on the same hypervisor. Hypervisors are developed using different virtualization techniques like full virtualization, para-virtualization and hybrid model virtualization. This paper evaluates the performance of three hypervisors ESXi, XenServer and KVM using SIGAR framework for system information and Passmark for system workloads in the private cloud environment. Private cloud has been designed using open source cloud computing software CloudStack. Hypervisors are deployed as hosts in the CloudStack. This paper recommends best suited hypervisors for respective workloads in the private cloud based on the performance of system information and system workloads.

This paper presents a comparative research of low-power and high-speed full adder cells which are based on XOR-XNOR algorithm. The adder cells are decomposed into small modules and all of them have an in-depth analysis. Several designs of each of them are implemented, optimized, simulated and analyzed separately. We also design a novel XOR-XNOR module built upon bootstrapped pass transistor logic use silicon on insulator (SOI) process with the characteristics of the full voltage swing at internal nodes and low short-circuit current which helps in reducing the power-delay product (PDP) for high performance applications. Many different full adder cells are constructed with different XOR-XNOR modules. A realistic test environment with buffers and loads are used for simulation. All full adder cells were simulated by HSPICE based on 130 nm CMOS technology at 1.2 V supply voltages. Four sets of frequencies were operated: 25 MHz, 50 MHz, 100 MHz and 200 MHz with 50% duty cycle at four different load capacitances. A comprehensive comparison and analysis are also carried out to test the performance of the adders. Each of these cells shows different performances in terms of power consumption, speed, and PDP. The simulation results of this research are expected to help designers to select the appropriate full adder cell that satisfies their specific applications.

Removal of dyes which are toxic in nature from industrial wastewaters is currently of great interest. For this purpose, the use of Bentonite for the removal of methyl violet dye from aqueous solutions at different contact times, pH and temperature was investigated. Bentonite has a high potential to adsorb reactive dyes from aqueous solutions according to TEM image. The extent of dye removal increased with increasing adsorbent concentration, contact time, pH and temperature. Increasing the temperature shows increasing the rate of diffusion of the adsorbate molecules across the external boundary layer and in the internal pores of the adsorbent particle. The kinetics of the adsorption process was tested for the pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order reaction models. The rate constant of adsorption was obtained for the pseudo-second order kinetic model. The adsorption capacity of the Bentonite is comparable to the other available adsorbents, and it is quite cheaper.

This paper presents a frequency reconfigurable inverted circular patch antenna with U-slot. The incorporation of U-slot in the circular patch provides a wide impedance bandwidth than conventional patch antenna. By introducing shorts at appropriate position on U-slot and on feed, antenna can be made resonant at two frequency bands (1.80GHz-1.98GHz) and (2.10GHz-2.68GHz) in two modes. The proposed antenna not only avoid the interference problem faced in fixed dual band antenna but at the same time provides a good gain of nearly 8 dB in both mode of operation. The prototype of optimized antenna is fabricated and experimental results are in close agreement with the simulated one. This antenna can be used for different wireless application like Personal Communication System (PCS) and Bluetooth/WLAN.
