The mobile access network designing provides an effective designing platform for entire mobile network. The mobile access network designing involves optimal assignment of communication link between components of the access network, satisfying various technical constraints of the network. Moreover, components of mobile access network are vulnerable to failure due to technical and environmental factors. Therefore, it is a critical problem, to define an effective mechanism for handling these faults at minimum cost while designing the mobile access network. In this paper we propose, heuristics based optimal fault tolerant algorithm to minimize the overall cost of mobile access network designing along with fault tolerant mechanism. Mathematical programming is used to formulate the problem. Further, six faults mechanisms are identified based on failure types, failure components at various access network level. These fault tolerant mechanism uses dual homing as the solution, in which case secondary link exists as backup along with primary communication between network components during link assignment of access network. The algorithm produces an optimal fault tolerant assignment of link satisfies the capacity and connectivity constraints of access network components. The algorithm outperforms well both in the smaller network and larger network.

Because of quite high tensile strength, economical and locally available; bamboo can be used as a natural retrofitting material for the strengthening of RCC beam. The performance of bamboo sticks are investigated in this paper as retrofitted material. Three set of RCC beams of same dimension (width 4", thickness 6" and span 5.5') are tested up to ultimate load by one point loading system as a simply supported beam. These beams are addressed as S-1(a), S-1(b), S-1(c), S-2(a), S-2(b), S-2(c), S-3(a), S-3(b) and S-3(c) according to their set. Beams S-1(a), S-1(b) and S-1(c) are made without strengthening. The Beams S-2(a), S-2(b), S-2(c) is subjected to one layer of bamboo sticks only the bottom surface of beam. And another three beams of S-3(a), S-3(b), and S-3 (c) are strengthened by one layer of bamboo sticks on three sides of beams. After that they are tested and a comparison has been made on cracking load, ultimate load and deflection between the beams of with and without bamboo. Also a graphical representation indicates difference between the sets of two strengthening system. From this paper we can understand that the beams of three side bamboo layer (repairing) give comparatively good performance.

Now - adays in industrial practices continuous improvement of quality, productivity with lesser operating cost is desirable. To obtain these goals improvement in the maintenance practices and cost reduction are very important. As maintenance personnel, one has to know the reasons of failure, maintenance practices and the knowledge of the state of the art technologies. In most of real time industrial practices induction motors play a significant role and their reliable and safe operations is always desirable. In this paper a comprehensive idea of various faults, causes, detection parameter, techniques and latest trends in the condition monitoring technologies have been incorporated. To illustrate firstly a real time application of rotor fault by conventional Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA) based on measurement of sidebands in the stator current spectrum has been demonstrated. Thereafter an intelligent technique based on Neural Networks (NNs) has been proposed; tested and simulated that proclaims reliable and efficient operation.

Service identification (SI) is one of the challenging activities in developing service oriented models. Many service identification approaches have been proposed in literature ranging from top-down to bottom-up. However, the literature lacks enough research in the field of validating service identification approaches themselves. Most of the available techniques to validate SI approaches are theoretical in nature and uses case studies and/or examples to explain the approach’s features. In this paper, we present a technique to validate the execution behavior of Service Identification approaches using a reversed affinity analysis method. This method is used to validate the granularity level, cohesion and low coupling of the identified services. The proposed technique is demonstrated using one of the SI approaches and is deployed on a real case study from the healthcare domain.

The analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is an essential part of system-on-chip (SoC) products because it bridges the gap between the analog physical world and the digital logical world. In the digital domain, low power and low voltage requirements are becoming more important issues as the channel length of MOSFET shrinks below 0.25 sub-micron values. Moreover, SoC trends force ADCs to be integrated on the chip with other digital circuits. These trends present new challenges in ADC circuit design. Thus, this thesis is to investigate high speed, low power, and low voltage CMOS flash ADCs for SoC applications. In this paper an area efficient low power high Speed 3-bit Flash Type ADC using bit referenced encoder is proposed in 180 nm CMOS technology. The concept of Threshold Modified Comparator Circuit (TMCC) is also introduced as a modification of the conventional comparator. The proposed design of the ADC occupies an active area of 0.0036 mm2 and consumes 43.146 μW of Average Power while operating with an input frequency (fin) of 10 MHz and a supply voltage of 1.8 Volt.

Introduced gearless power transmission arrangement used for skew shafts. In this transmission system no. of pins or links used must be odd..3,5,7,9…..& centers of any two pins or links hole must not be on that line which represent the diameter of the shaft. If more pins or links used motion will be smoother, but increase in no. of pins or links not at the cost of strength of the shaft. Pins or links are fixed (may be permanent of temporary) in the drilled holes at the both shaft ends due to which motion is transferred. The dimensions of the pins or links and angle for the pins are all given very precisely, holes drilled very accurately. Proposed arrangement used for skew shafts at any angle & if there is a need we can change the angle between shafts during motion or during intermittent motion with any profile of shafts having rotational motion along its own axis. The Working of this arrangement is very smooth & use very effectively with a very minimum amount of power losses.
