This paper proposes a hybrid technique for secured optimal power flow coupled with enhancing voltage stability with FACTS device installation. The hybrid approach of Improved Gravitational Search algorithm (IGSA) and Firefly algorithm (FA) performance is analyzed by optimally placing TCSC controller. The algorithm is implemented in MATLAB working platform and the power flow security and voltage stability is evaluated with IEEE 30 bus transmission systems. The optimal results generated are compared with those available in literature and the superior performance of algorithm is depicted as minimum generation cost, reduced real power losses along with sustaining voltage stability.

This study focuses on the different elements of Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 1 in Metro Manila with the aim of characterizing its technological evolution and putting in context its impact in terms of what it is best designed for and what it can deliver. The study provides the concept of understanding the recent operation and developmental resolutions that the management of LRTA line 1 is providing as a preparation to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the commuters. Through the application of technology and scientific principles by means of transportation engineering for managing the facilities of the LRTA line 1 system, the system can provide safer, more rapid, more convenient, economic and environmental friendly way of transportation for the increasing demand of commuters. However, LRT 1 is best designed to substitute conventional railway services on routes where much higher capacity is required and to reduce travel time, further improving the railway service, also against other modes, therefore leading to mode substitution.

The year round insufficiency of water in rivers of Tripura (state of North-East India) is the main problem of hydro-power generation of this state. The only hydro-power station of the stale (Dombor Hydro-Power Plant) is presently in deadly condition. So a plant which can operate with fixed volume of water, is very much acceptable to pursuit this condition. So, pump storage hydro power plant is this type of plant which can operate according to the expected condition. But consumption of power during the pumping phase reduces the net output of PSP hydro-plant. So parametric estimation has been adopted to find the most beneficial & non beneficial parameters for PSP and how the efficiency changes with the variation of these parameters it is also observed here. Finally the optimum condition for maximum power generation has been developed from these estimations.

Automatic vehicle fueling system is a system which utilizes a positioning robot arm that is allowed to move using its search head and extendable nozzle toward the fueling spot of the car. Distance sensor and weight sensor are used in the system to locate the actual location of the car and provide accurate fueling position. This system includes ‘FASS’ concept which are fast, accurate, safe and simple in order to allow car users having more friendly car fueling. The main focus of this project is to explore a new invention of fuel dispensing system which providing secure and reliability to car user, prevent human contact with potentially dangerous fumes, and reduce time usage in fueling up vehicle.

Cloud computing is a popular technology that provides services to the users on demand and on pay-per-usage fee that is they only pay for the data utilized when required. With the vast growth in the use of mobile phone applications, the users are relying on their phones for their personal as well as professional work and suffering from many problems (storage, processing, security etc). To overcome these limitations and growth in the use of cloud applications, a new development area has emerged recently called as Mobile cloud computing. Mobile cloud computing is an integration of three technologies cloud computing, mobile computing and internet, enabling the users to access the services at any time and from any place. Mobile phones are sensitive devices and the personal data is not secured when user stores data on cloud and can be easily attacked by unauthorized person. This paper presents a high level authentication and encryption model through a mobile application that encrypts the data before moving it to the cloud that ensures the security and the strong user authentication.

In this paper, the buckling analysis of thin walled composite cylindrical shells with and without cutouts is investigated by applying axial load on Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) shell. The effect of cutout not only introduces stress concentration but also significantly reduces the buckling strength. The column is fixed at one end and load is applied at the other end. The Static and Eigenvalue buckling analysis is done on shell model. The circular, elliptical and rectangle cutouts are considered on cylindrical shell. The buckling analysis is repeated in each case. The compressive stress, buckling load factor and lateral strain of each case for cylindrical shell is obtained from ANSYS software. The buckling load decreases for shell with cutout when compared to the value of the shell without a cutout. Stress and lateral strain increases for shell with cutout when compared to the shell without a cutout. The buckling load value is maximum in circular cutout and minimum in the rectangular cutout.
